oh my god. This is the first time I see how the amp actually works with the foot pedals. I might seriously think about getting this amp now that I have a clearer picture of what it is capable of. I didn't realize you could visually see the pedals in the application and actually turn the knobs to the desired position. I was going for a standard amp with a distortion, digital delay and chorus pedal setup. This looks like everything all in one.
I still use my original Mustang 3 for band practice. They are great little amps. Great demo that isn't filled with too much filler. You dive in and show us the amp rather than talk about it for 10 minutes before a note is even played. Love your demos. Thanks for the great content.
Best demo ever on any amp. Finally someone shows us how the tones sound direct and then mic'd thru the amplifier. What a brilliant idea it's only been like decades in the making! lol Thank You Brett
Great demo. Thanks. I'm looking at getting a new amp and you just sold me on this! *EDIT* Bought this amp now and it's great! Heaps of cool settings. The apps is great
Nice nice ... I just bought a fender gtx7 today , looked up a few videos and it was all boring blues guys haha but you get right into the VH and Eric Johnson right away. Beauty.
@@cleagymeen9465 I did get it and I am happy with it. You have to do some tweaking to get good tones. Has a ton of neat features and plenty of headroom. Light as a feather and comes with everything you need to get going.
Thanks for this demo, Burgs. Was thinking of getting the 100 watt but I really don’t need that kind of power. And I don’t really plan to use the foot switch as I just want to set up a nice clean patch and use with my pedals.
Question whether the GTX is a good pedal platform or not. I had the V2 III, loved it but it sucked with my pedals. U swapped the katana 50. It is ok. Is this GTX all around a better than a Katana50?
I have this amp and the pedal since more than a year ago. Here my view so far: PROS: 200 presets with endless options in effects and cabinets. Good sound, and good connectivity via cables. CONS: wireless connectivity really sucks (bluetooth and wifi). The app does not exist for Mac or Windows. Pedal is noisy when pressing the buttons, and difficult to navigate the presets (option "bank up" requires lot of time to jump from one preset to a distant one in the list, ex. from present 12 to preset 85). Summary: still good price/value option compared to similar other products, but being a Fender product I was expecting much more.
Brett: Thank You very much indeed! Awesome vid. I needed a new amp to plug my 1954 70th Ann Strat, so I ordered it from "SWEETWATER". Nice Charvel btw from on old school Charvel player!!!
I reckon that's what a lot of the modelling amps are missing is an easy to use app. Who wants to connect it up to a computer all the time to tweak a setting?
You don't have to use the app...everything is tweakable the same way right on the amp itself...you only need the app to download presets if you're into that...
@@MrMissingReel Not exactly. Yes you can tweak amounts on the amp. But if you want to change an effect to a different one, then you need to hook it up to a computer. I couldn't imagine it being too labour intensive on CPU so it would be handy to be able to use an IOS or Android device.
@@peterschmidt9942 Of course you're able to change the effect right on the amp....as well as you can change the amp model itself....you're even able to manipulate the the virtual valves of each model....everything is controllable on the amp....I have the GTX100....I know what I'm talking about!
Wonderful tones and playing. I think for home playing and recording these amps are ideal. The Boss or this or an amp modeller like a Helix are the best options for the basement jammers like me. I have tube amps but they only sound right when they are working hard which I can’t do at home. I haven’t played my tube amps since getting my Helix. These sound cool too so I may get one just for fun.
How does the GTX50 sound through headphones? I mostly practice through headphones these days using either a Boss ME-80 or a Roland JC Chorus 22. I can't say the sound that comes out of those is great so looking for cheap alternatives...Thanks
Brett, the effects (mod, delay, reverb) sound brilliant but how did the gain sound in general from your end compared to a tube amp, like a Marshall DSL40CR? Thnx in advance, appreciate it.
Exactly, it’s worth. Don’t get ruin your time to research any amp. Just go and buy Gtx50, you’ll never regret. You can get a concert-like sound at home and in medium-sized areas.
How is the sound like when you play against a backing track connected via bluetooth? I mean if u play distorted, will the backing track be distorted too or are the two channels separated? If separated, can the volume between the guotar and backing track be adjusted independently?
I just bought a GTX 50 as my first amp for my first electric guitar, a lefty Strat Player Series here in the states. Should I wait for the foot controls? Do they complicate things or the opposite? I'm a total beginner.
In my opinion, the foot controller for this amp is mostly meant for two things: 1. switching between setups (presets) during a performance, or 2. Looping. This amp is controllable from the panel, so you don't need a foot switch for switching during practice. You won't need to add a foot switch until you start performing live, or in the studio. Looping is something used during a certain kind of performance, where you build up layers of sounds. That's down the road for you too.
lets say if I liked a certain software amp from another company. Could I use the usb out on this to connect to my computer and record with that software amp? Basically just use this as an interface but have the amp sounds for when I want to just jam/mess around?
I did the same thing just did not need the power of the 100 watts for home use and will by the footswitch later and still save a bit of money over the 100 watts Still found the 50 watts too loud and did not want to use the volume control all the way down which would end up having a bad spot on it so what I did was but a home made volume pedal in the effects loops it was just a preset in a little box so I could use the volume control on the amp well up Have fun cheers
Picked one up today, very excited!

How well does this amp with pedals? (pedalboard)
Great demo using your playing, comping and audio smarts! And in Stereo!
BTW I admire your hardware and software, the retail cost of which is easily the same price as a good used car! You are always worth the trip to YT.
