  • This video shows you how to install heavy duty leaf springs on a Club Car Precedent golf cart. These HD rear leaf springs will be essential when hauling cargo or passengers around. It is nearly mandatory if you have a rear seat or cargo box installed on your Club Car Precedent. Most of our leaf spring kits include bushings with the springs so that you get everything you need to make a rather easy install. Please subscribe to our channel to see other how to videos or visit our website to buy popular golf cart parts and accessories.

    Barry, tell your producer and cameraman to include close up shots of the spring ends properly lit so we can see what you’re doing in better detail.

    Great video, made that look easy. I am in the middle of taking 6” lift off a precedent. The front change of spindles didn’t take maybe 20 minutes, but the rear ugh. I attached the axle to the heavy duty leaf springs and can’t get the leaf spring ends lined up to bolt. I tried attaching the leaf springs first then attach the axle to them but couldn’t get the nut to line up with the hole. Just curious if there is trick to the order? Or any suggestions from your experience? Any help is appreciated.

    Hi I just bought a 2019 club car I installed after market 10inch wheels I do not want to lift my car but wheel clearance tight especially when I have four passengers on board I bottom out rub slightly! Will these heavy duty leaf springs resolve this problem without having too lift or do I need to add spacers or new rear shackles to lift the rear of the cart up? Thank you in advance Chad

      the heavy duty is recommended for the rear seats but if you don’t want a rear seat the shocks can still provide more comfort , you can install 2-4 leaf spring without a left kit and still have enough space in between for the look of 12s low profile tires as long theres no hills or bumpy roads. i wanted to comment on this video because i used it for reference on how to do the task. thanks dude your good.

    I had to grind down the lower bracket where the brake cables connect. After the HD spring install it dropped the plate down almost 3/4” and it started scraping on the inside of the wheels.

    Great video. Thaks. My situation is I already have 4 leaf springs and due to the terrain we use it on, the ride is just terrible. So bad that we avoid using the machine. My question is, as I don't have the original leaf springs to put back in, can I rermove the 4 leaf spring set, remove a couple of leafs and put it back together? I can't imagine this not improving the ride but would like your suggestion. Also, if I were to remove some leafs, which ones would you recommend? We use the club car on a ranch. Thanks again. Love your videos.

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can remove a spring or 2 but, first try to lower the air pressure in the tires a bit and see if that makes a difference.

    • @rleeyeager7566
      @rleeyeager7566 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@golfcartking Thanks for that but I have tire pressure probably too low already. Looks like its going to involve removing a couple springs so any advice on which to remove? Also can I change spring tension on the accelerator, as again on our terrain it is very jerky. Thanks

    I need to ask a question about the bushing change. I am trying to install new bushings and center sleeves but my cart is an 02 club car ds and has a 3rd set of bushings at the rear hangers that attach to the frame itself. What I need help with is how do I go about getting the body off the back end cause whoever assembled this cart put the bolts in backwards. They have the head of the bolt facing the center of the cart and not the wheel well. Can you please point me to a video or just tell me where I can find all the bolts necessary to get this rear half off?? I know there will be several different bolts, just don’t want to remove the unnecessary ones if I don’t have to.

    I call BS on the shock removal. Springs and shocks serve two very different functions. The springs support the weight of the cart over the axle, the shocks prevent oscillations of the body after the axles hit a bump. Shocks do not suspend the body in any way.

    good evening . great video but I hit a problem. I followed instructions to the letter. I have a 2006 club car precedent. I added a rear seat and a dual action springs. I have 12inch rims with low pros. with a average size person it still rubs do I need the 4 leaf?

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Dual Action springs are like the middle of the road as far as supporting weight. They support plenty of weight yet still allows for a smooth ride. At this point, you might want to consider a minimal 3" lift kit. This will give the golf cart a little bit more room for flex and still allow you to have a smooth ride.

    • @JOCENT09
      @JOCENT09 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for the reply. THE guy at the dealership said he never had that happen before . so the 3 inch lift should do it

    • @golfcartking
      @golfcartking  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new style dual action springs haven't been around for a long time. Most likely the dealership just normally install's your everyday standard heavy duty springs. The 3" lift should maintain your golf carts good ride and give the the extra height you need.
