    Great job with video. Installed the meso puddle lights with the switch wiring harness so they can be turned on anytime you need them.
    I ended up doing a little bit of grinding on the meso housing to get them to fit tighter to the mirror and it helped with the wind noise.
    Thanks for the videos!

    Great video. I've done most of the same mods. I also had the same issue with wind noise with the Miso upgrade and sent them back. I love the AJT knob upgrade and the fact that they light up around the inside of the knobs at night.

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, those knobs are actually pretty cool upgrade.
      I was honestly bummed out on the Meso lights, but at the end it’s an upgrade not downgrade we are looking for.

    Rookie question here, what is the easiest way to replace the side mirror courtesy lights?

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no easy way, the entire mirror has to be taken apart.

    I wonder now after a year, if they fixed (huge gap) not fitting nicely or flush manufacturing of the Meso custom puddle light? 16:28

  • @danielboltares3663
    @danielboltares3663 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Have not done the MESO upgrade yet, decided to only upgrade to an LED bulb only first (financial decision at the moment), and see how that turns out. However, after watching the various install videos, one gentleman simply sanded/filed down the screw "pillars" on the inside of the housing so that it would sit flush. Came out nice, just a thought.

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That actually sounds like it would work, but instead I decided to go with a stronger LED bulb. I’m very happy with my decision.

    Oh shit, you're in NJ too.. nice..
    I am planning on buying a new vehicle soon. And by "new" I mean newer used. 4Runner is one of my top picks. While part of me had wanted to jump on the hybrid band wagon with Toyota's 600mi range per tank on some of them.
    After renting a 4runner twice for work. I Really liked that truck. A lot.
    I don’t want something too big like in the Tahoe, Sequoia, Suburban or full size pick up range.. and I wanted bigger than a CR-V or Rav 4 sized SUV.. and while there are many that fit in that mid range.
    I also really want a body on frame truck which limits the choices.
    Plus I want a truck that may last me 10+yrs dependably.. and lastly.. I want something I can mod a bit to personalize for me. The 4Runner looks like it has a nice market for that. Im right in the Belleville/Nutley area. And often travel up into upstate NYC where it can get snowy in cold weather.
    I love what you had done to your frame.. there are a number of similar things I'd have done to mine as well. The coating looks great on the frame and should protect it for years.
    I dig the daylight led interior lights.
    I would like to retain the rubber feel of the knobs.. I'd search for aftermarket ones with the rubber grip.

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely sir, protecting the frame is a must.
      You will never go wrong with a 4runner.

    Hello, I have a different topic question. I would like to know does the oil filter cap(plastic) have a tendency to get condensate on it after a drive? I had the oil changed at the Toyota dealership, a couple days later there looks like moisture on said cap with a drip on the bottom. I can not tell if its oil. It is not leaking when the motor is running. Thank you for your videos!

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      No condensation that I’m aware of. Sounds like possibly residue from said previous oil change. If not wiped clean properly, that could show like that.keep an eye on it to make sure it’s not actually leaking.

    Nice video, do you know if the LEDs run cooler or hotter than those original bulbs? Just curious….I really like those raptor lights but I am concerned if the wiring they provide are well insulated…if water can get in and corrode the connectors…wouldn’t want any electrical issues down the road. You know what I mean…like poor ground connection and etc.

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ran a similar set of Raptor style lights for 3 years, zero issues.
      LED don’t run hotter then an halogen bulb.

    Thought if you wanted to go back to the OEM buttons with the grip on the side, could just plastidip them.

    • @VikingsGarage

      That’s a possibility, but overtime that plastic dip would probably look worn.

    I’m interested in what you will do (or did) to black out the bumpers (front and back). That is my next “major” mod. Some say paint/ bed-liner spray, some say get the $270 black bumper valance replacements. Have you done it yet and what are your thoughts?
