The second phase felt like a sudden difficulty spike where every hit does at least 1/3 of your HP and stamina/spirit bar. I also do not know how to feel about the spirit bar itself - when you are winning you have a lot of it and get to use cool special moves. When you are losing -> have a small amount you can barely afford to block/dodge. It kinda looks like a death/win spiral depending on how you are doing in the opening of a fight.
Yup, it's like they took one of the many spamfocused builds that players could use in nioh against equally spammy enemies, and then designed an entire game around that one build while getting rid of all the others. Kind of analogous to what fromsoft did with sekiro I suppose, but between how unresponsive some of the controls felt, how terrible it felt to try and heal, and how awful the world design and aesthetic feels when compared to sekiro's, I think the removal of nioh's massive customizable weapon skill trees and builds will seriously hurt this game.

There if you know your enemie and mastered the weaspon, you just go Uber Agressive and kill everything super fast, but if you get scared, play defensive and dont know the enemie move set, you get totally destroyed in 1/2 hits. Nioh 2 had a huge learninng curve and I dont think they teach the player in the best way, mainly in the first level. I hope this onne is better at teaching the player the mechanics so everyone just dont drop it in the first two hours. Nioh 2 onn the Steam has ONLY 60% of the players beating the FIRST LEVEL. THe game has 4 difficulties, more than 100 bosses and a endgame dunngeon that is a colossal challange and a super deep combat, but they went HAHAHA lets fuking destroy the noobs in the beggining, so a ton of people quit before seeing what is so good about the series. Hope they dont do that here again. (Ps: nioh 2 is my top 3 game in life)

People think they just clone fromsoft but actually the gameplay is so many miles ahead of fs games it's not even funny (yes inc sekiro). But where fs has them completely beat is art direction, level design, atmosphere, world building, music etc

Huh, just noticed that Ongbal has no Nioh videos yet. Admittedly, the endgame feels more like it's based more on your gear than your skill, but I'd still like to see how Ongbal plays the game

It's basically Nioh3 but new combat system. Overall I like it, but I think the deflect window is too small, and this make game too difficult (at least for now).
I've really been enjoying this. Haven't fully wrapped my head around the spirit system yet and I don't like how the riposte takes your entire spirit bar- punishes you for success. But I play absolutely every soulslike and I haven't ever seen as interesting and well tuned a system as this outside of from games.
It's more like sekiro, you either Parry or block, because dodging it's like death sentence especially considering you use the same button to dodge and parry, press b once is parry, and twice is dodge. I also found the parry really hard is too precise.
@@swiftchancellor159 exactly it's looks easy like standard difficulty on RPG games but it maybe for this test version as I noticed enemies are not relentless and give a long window to spam hits on them.
Honestly, i think Team Ninja's titles (Nioh,Wo long, Ninja gaiden) are perfect for your "no hit" playstyle

The hit sound effects need more oomph, the weak slushy attack sounds don't match the aggressive attack animations.
