Thank you 🙏 guys so much for having Richard on. I’ve never 👎 read the reviews for RAM 🐏 as much as Andy has but there’s no a reviewer who would say negative things about it wasn’t biased towards Paul because they blamed him for the breakup. I just don’t see how someone could listen 👂 to it and not like it all. I think 🤔 Allan Kozinn summed up the Lovely Linda perfectly well in his book 📖 saying that the point of that song is to tell fans that this is who his new muse is and also his new collaborator. I’m a very big fan of his 80’s fan as someone who just got Press to play on vinyl and played it. Side one is magnificent with Footprints 👣, only love ❤️ remains and Stranglehold. I really want Nancy to sit Paul down and get him to listen to press to play and Off the Ground to get him to hear 👂 how great these albums are. I really wish he didn’t care what critics thought 💭 because each album of his has good stuff on it. Listening 👂 to Return to Pepperland it has fantastic songs like Lindiana, Same love 💗, I love this house 🏠, Love ❤️ come tumbling down. I don’t understand why he didn’t hear 👂 how great 👍 those songs are. It’s such an underrated time for Paul ending with Flowers 💐 in the dirt which I think 🧐 is a nearly flawless masterpiece.
Phillip Norman, whose Shout book dictated much of what people took as fact, it was cruel. Than he Norman admitted that much of his criticism of amd negativity towards Paul was simply jealousy that Paul is good looking and talented. I am quite certain that other critics did the same thing for the same reason. That's why I defend Paul still "defending" to some extent, his contributions to the Beatles.
80s Paul is great, with the exception of the movie, although some of the music from it is excellent. Tug of War/Pipes of Peace should have been a double album - just take off the corny duets. I can’t wait for Return to Pepperland to be released as well as all the other stuff from the period we are missing like Yvonne.
What about releasing the duet version of Ebony and Ivory as a single, but with What’s that You’re Doing as the B side? Then make Say Say Say a double A sided single with The Man. Get It could stay on the double album because it still sounds like a Paul song. The two Michael Jackson collaborations and What’s that You’re Doing dont sound like Paul songs to me. I tend to not like Paul duets unless it’s with Denny Laine. I don’t even like him singing with Elvis Costello.
I made up my own double album I call War and Peace. The tracklisting follows: Side One: Tug of War Take it Away The Other Me Keep Under Cover So Bad Side Two Wanderlust Ballroom Dancing The Pound is Sinking Rainclouds Here Today Side Three Pipes of Peace I’ll Give You a Ring Somebody Who Cares Get It Ode to a Koala Bear Ebony and Ivory (Solo Version) Side Four Christian Bop Sweetest Little Show Average Person Dress Me Up as a Robber Through Our Love It works for me.
Interesting, thank you for sharing your insight.
Great discussion guys. I just got That Was Me on Amazon….looking forward to reading it. Glad to see these new books coming about Macca.

I think if you look at the decades, as mirroring the first part of the previous. The Beatles blew. that concept out of the water..
Hi lads, sadly Richards book is retailing in the Uk at £86 so i,m afraid unless i win the lottery sales here will be low
Why on earth is the book $109.47 on Amazon?!?

The duets need to stay
