    The NZXT H1 V2 is a decent compact case for builders who want minimal setup hassles, thanks to its included and pre-installed PSU and AIO cooler. But it’s expensive for what you get, GPU thermals aren’t great, and we had issues with the power supply on our first review unit.

    Awesome review! Always good to see a company bounce back like that with an improved version that still keeps the original design ideas, just better. Will add this to the short-list of future ITX build ideas.

      @@diecubo for reference my build is a 6700xt(gaming x, dual fan, not trio) and 3700x. Gpu temps get fairly high so I run a slight undervolt/underclock and I have modified my case with custom 3d printed brackets I designed to have 2x 140mm fans as rear exhaust and I am planning to fit a 280mm rad and custom loop down the line. But before I had a 5700xt red devil in the stock case and it was running nicely even at stock settings on the gpu. Cpu I run at 1.2v 4.2ghz all core fixed clock with max temps around 72C. So depends what you are planning to build around. If they're going for £/$200 now then imo that's a good deal with all the kit inside and pre routed wiring. I wouldn't do it with anything higher than 6700xt/3070ti though imo or you will need a decent bit of modding to get nice temps. I think most AMD CPUs will be ok up to 5900x, 12 gen intel I guess i7 max.

    • @Osprey1994
      @Osprey1994 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean...if you know what you are doing you can land a full system for about what you would pay for MSRP parts. You just aren't looking hard enough, and the way I know is you seem to be missing the decrease in GPU prices that has been occuring. It's slow, but I've seen 100-200 shaved off some cards in the NVIDIA lineup. Of course the best way to get cards still seems to be in bundles of some sort, but for some people that's not appealing.
      I'm personally quite happy that I landed a 3080 FE FHR build, the GPU cost be 799, and thanks to the black friday coupon all the other parts were close to what I would have paid had I bought them off Newegg or Amazon.

      I have an rtx 3070, I had to sell part of my soul buying a prebuild summer of last year that I clearly obviously overpaid to get. The H1 V2 is my current end game case and I am going to probably get one soon so I can build my first custom pc. Just 1k and I can finally get a pc that doesn't a really sad motherboard/weak power supply.
      I might get a gtx 1650 or rtx 3050 to put in the old pc so then I can sell it to someone else for a reasonable price to partially fund the new build. The power supply is better equipped to handle that so that should work out better for whoever gets it.

      @welshmouse 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chltmdwp Where are you getting those calculations? And why are you so desperate to make 650w seem like enough for any build when clearly it isn't?
      If you have a high end CPU paired with a high end GPU, you would be well up to the limit of what a 650w psu can do efficiently, that's not even worrying about the fact next gen CPU's and GPU's are around the corner and expected to use more.
      I'm sorry if you bought the last gen model, or a 650w psu, and feel the need to defend your purchase, but you don't need to act like a teenager with an xbox. It's okay that it's not for everyone. I would not have been willing to buy a 650w based part build knowing full well that it would limit my upgrade choices, and have me running the PSU at redline with my 3080 ti and 12900.
      And I'm going to go ahead and assume you're an american, given you're so oblivious of the world outside of the USA. My monthly power bill is triple what it used to be. So yeah, keeping my PC in the 80plus gold zone is among the things I'm very keen to do.

    • @chltmdwp
      @chltmdwp 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@welshmouse there are website that calculate what kind of power supply unit you need for your build before you even buy them. It also tells you yearly bill. Don't always trust the manufacturer's recommendations. Do your own research. This is important because it saves you money and time trying to swap out PSU in H1 that you don't need. And this is perfectly safe and not limiting anything. If the electricity bill is so high, maybe sticking with a console sounds like better choice or play sports 🤷‍♂️

Ive found that now that i’ve installed my h1 v2 and now i don’t know if i’d rather change the psu or send back the case. v1 had a perfectly fine zero-noise psu and nzxt had to ruin it…

Silent Case 800 (2 fan on front, other rear (I changed with a Noctua and, the original Be Quiet, under), 2 Noctua on top), for CPU (AMD Ryzen 1800X with overclock), Noctua NH-D15 Chroma Black, the GPU is a Gygabyte Nvidia GTX 1060 6Gb OC..., zero noise, that it´s I´m looking for a ITX case now, I think NZXT H1 V2 could to go fine for me...

      also you cant realistically run a 12700k/5900x with only a 140mm AIO. those cpu's would be at peak temperature nearly all the time with that tiny little radiator. its for this reason that i hate this case. same as the thermaltake tower 100. it only supports 120mm aio's. with todays cpu's that just isnt nearly enough cooling power.

    This NZXT H1 v2 case seems cool and has some nice upgrades and added features, but the psu should have been atleast 850w because going from 650w to just 750w isn't enough of a difference. This seems like a good time for some component upgrades, because I am getting that H1 v2 case as soon as it is available and I want that new AMD Ryzen 5800x3d and maybe some 32gb 3600mhz cl16 ram and a rtx3090 if I can get one.

    I understand that temp tested was done with both fans at 100%? If that's the case, when turning the CPU fan around as intake, lower its speed. The 140mm fan is definitely putting more air into the case than what the 92mm can take out. With GPU load, you want a negative pressure setup in the case, and usually, CPU doesn't get very hot when gaming/GPU load scenarios. I bet temperatures will be a lot better that way.

    SFF should be the new norm. Huge tower cases like the Haf 932 should be left in the early 2010s.

    "Disaster" is probably an overstatement. I have the "v1" and very pleased with it and i fit the a 3090. Really good upgrades and certainly I would consider "upgrading" namely because of the PSU as im running near limit. Downside.. slightly larger footprint..

      "Disaster" in the sense of "being at risk causing a fire" is clearly not an overstatement.

    Hmmm. Interesting product, fixed the "fiery" issues, but overall price is high versus meshlicious, even though everything is in place already.

      @@Plkj absolutely, that's why I'll have a second look at overall pricing when this becomes available in my country, because even assembling case and parts is a real hassle which the H1 v2 solves fairly elegantly.

    To all H1 owners, replacing the radior fan is the best investment you will ever make. Artic 140mm is the best fan ever, way better than Noctua fan. So much quieter even at 100% fan speed and really cools your PC down.

    Difference between V1 and V2? Well, at least you won't burn your house down! Congrats on that bare minimum NZXT!
    Joking aside, the way NZXT handled the whole process of the H1 leading up to the recall kind of soured me on the brand.

    I am sure they studied the idea but I wonder if a slim turbine-style blower fan, like in laptops, placed at the top of the case would be better than a traditional one to exhaust the heat out.

  • @mistejoe2483
    @mistejoe2483 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    At 400 dollars I would just go for sliger sv590 v2. You can also buy a gen4 riser for it and supports an 360m radiator. When you put the gen 4 and of their provided liquid coolers it still costs less than this

    • @Fattdogs1
      @Fattdogs1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it doesn't, Sliger with 360mm AIO (no fans) and PCIE Gen 4 upgrade is $403... And then you don't have a PSU like the H1 has

  • @alewarte
    @alewarte ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Based on comments of those who bought this case, this v2 doesn't have a good PSU and ppl recommend to replace it this with a good one. But for me it still looks good.
