One of the best so far, Jimmy, what a genuine bloke. You could tell the way he started quizzing you about drugs and gambling, he was genuinely interested, not up his own arse like so many.
Could you imagine the scenes for every bloke aged 35 -75, if the Whirlwind came back and won a world title. That would be GOAT like status. Great interview James - top guy Jimmy.

He really is, i had the pleasure to meet him twice and he's always open to have a chat with, picture, signature etc.

What a superb interview. Jimmy is so open, warm and very perceptive. So glad he made it through.
I remember Jimmys semi final battle with Higgins in 1982. Incredible match. Everyone thought Jimmy had won it, but he missed a crucial red - it wobbled in the jaws of the pocket and stayed there. Higgins stepped in and cleared up. Once of the most incredible clearances ever witnessed.

So many interviews with Jimmy don’t delve deep enough. This is possibly the best interview he’s given and a large part of that was your superb interview style and emotional intelligence. Hope you do another with him when he retires.

Not only an all time great in the sport but a very genuine, nice fella all-round. The man has certainly lived and its great the fire is still there and he has goals still, always good to see in anybody. Jimbo you establish a great rapport with these legends you have on mate, great banter but genuine chemistry and empathy also. Keep up the good work mate.

I'm 51 and in my time, Jimmy was one of the most loved sports personality of my time, along with Jimmy's pal Alex Higgins , people who never watched snooker started watching these two extraordinary players , I have an addict personality and I will be fighting it for the rest of my life and it's great to see people discussing their addictive personality and how they are fighting it because we all have different ways of dealing with it andJames and Jimmy are two peas in a pod and a lifelong friendship has just started right there God bless you both!

This just popped up on my recommended watch and if I’m being honest, it’s one of the best interviews I’ve seen for a very long time! The interviewer had a great rapport with Jimmy and brought out the best version of him. Can’t wait to look back through older interviews of James English, keep up the great work!
Awesome interview! Jimmy is one of the coolest guys EVER! Other guys won more titles than him, but he won 100 times more hearts!
My favorite moment is (weirdly non-snooker), when he and Alex played against Bobby Hunter & Mike Massey in 1995 in the Mosconi Cup. I could watch this match every evening with a glass of beer.
Anyway... just one thing to say to the producers - please, compress the s*** out of this those microphone signals. When he gets away from the mic, the voice level drops - 30% ...

This is probably the best interview I've seen with Jimmy. I think he sensed from word go he was talking to a kindred spirit and opened up. I'm 54 and have worshipped Jimmy White since 1982. Him and Alex were my heroes. The thing about Jimmy was he was and still is, a gentleman. The number of times he called a foul on himself the referee hadn't seen was astonishing. Not many players would do that these days.

Listened to this while cleaning my car on a fresh Sunday 😂 absolutely brilliant - got into snooker because my fiancé watches it, he’s read Jimmy autobiography and he told me about some of the wild stuff he got up to, def want to read it myself now! What a lovely, humble man with a great sense of humour too ❤
Even though Jimmy has never won the World Championship, nevertheless he was an exceptional player, I recommend that you watch his old performances on TH-cam

My god what an interview! Jimmy was one of the players I most tried to emulate when I was first playing the game. Seen some good interviews with him over the years but this one just felt like two mates in the pub which really is credit to you James. I'm 8 years clean of gambling and drink currently and like you say I don't feel much different but I cope with situations a hell of a lot better now. Well done on your journey and keep fighting brother

What a interview class James....love Jimmy loved watching him play snooker along with Alex Higgins and the rest of them at that time, Jimmy was a fantastic friend to Alex Higgins he was there for Alex right up till Alex died. I live in N Ireland my dad was brought up not far from Alex he was also the same age as Alex, Alex could be a nice, funny, bloke but he could also be very ignorant and fight with his own shadow at times and he died a very sad death but even through all his flaws he was well liked and thanks to Jimmy for being there for him....well done James on another fantastic interview.....
