Five years later, the women's gold. When I played volleyball in college in So Cal in the early 80's, we would go watch Karch play at UCLA. Very inspiring and now such a wonderful memory for me.
Great stuff, just wish it was longer! Karch is not only the best volleyball player to ever live, he is actually a thoughtful and amazing person. Was great to see his coaching style in the Olympics... not the in-your-face style that is so common but really thoughtful and understanding, and always letting his assistants provide their input as well. Too bad they didn't win gold (probably would have if not for injury) but big props to Karch for sitting her out and not risking further injury! The legend continues to grow!
I remember watching him playing for Messaggero Ravenna in Italy around 1991-1992... I was just a little kid supporting Maxicono Parma and, at that time, there was such an intense rivalry between the two teams, but I could not help looking at him in admiration: what an amazingly talented player, he was special, he had that incredible energy, that huge dedication to the game: it still gives me thrills...
I really wish those of us in the US could've seen those epic Italian matches and rivalries. Might have made a difference in trying to grow the game domestically here.
I saw him playing in Italy. He was amazing, I was 13 years old and for a boy like me Karch, Bernardi, Jeff Stork, Giani, Zorzi were giants but I had them in front of me and it was incredible
Its great , your sport history and Iwant to congratulation for your very nice parents . I talked with you in Hungary and I helped your father a few ! All of good . Gergo a one headking on the world!

It's amazing with all the success' Karch has had. The best still wants to be the best he can be!
He’s the Goat of volleyball. Successful in college & Olympic hard court. Then followed up by a long Pro Beach career and Olympic Beach Gold.
Just watched the Olympic Games US vs. Brazil… Karch is definitely an extremely strategic coach! Go, Bruins!!!!

No hay duda, es El Rey Pelé del Voleibol Mundial, el más técnico, el más grande, el único. 😃👍🏻

Great Kiraly, but Giba is the greatest of all time.

Jose Luiz Junior voted by IVF as the best player of the century!!

Kiraly was better than Giba. Olimpic championship 84 and 88, and champion in 96 ( beach).
The best.
He must have imploded when his team lost in Rio.
Maddie Bug sighting!

Remember, they compare Karch to Jordan, not LeBron. Think about what that means for a second....
Means lebron was not there in the nba yet, think!
