What disappoints me about The Suicide Squad is the box office. It’s very ironic that the 2016 Suicide Squad received bad reviews but was successful at the box office. The Suicide Squad received good reviews but was unsuccessful at the box office.
Covid, R ratings and other factors contribute.

This film is honestly in my top 5 comic book movies ever. It embraces the ridiculousness of these characters which should be done more often in my opinion. It gives the movie more opportunities to go completely insane with its plot, which can lead to some spectacular moments.
That as well as the fact it stayed true to the most famous element of the Suicide Squad which is that anyone could die at any time and that no one is truly safe adding more tension and stakes.
Than i guess u have no taste in movies cause that one was absolutely terrible ahahah
I think this films ridiculousness embrace is helped by the fact that James Gunn did something similar in the Guardians of the Galaxy films. Ironically enough both this and the guardians franchise featured Sean Gunn, Michael Rooker, and Sylvester Stallone

This film was genius, really sad that savant, Mongal, javelin, blackguard, captain Boomerang didn't do much in the film😭
Unpopular opinion: Savant had the best introduction in this movie!!! He didn’t do much but Michael Rooker still delivered a solid performance!!
I agree. They really should’ve lived. Imagine having over a dozen characters, all with great personalities to be attached to.

I love how the crew monitering task force x went from the cliche board meeting to A bunch of college office employees
And they are about to be series regulars in the Peacemaker show.
And I like how they’re making bets on who’s gonna die in this mission.
I love how Waller give him the "Dude, you got one job" kind of look while the Weasel is drowning, not even telling anyone to save him immediately at 5:16
The way Blackguard died, I had to laugh it was hilarious especially the fact that it's Pete Davidson that played the character 😂😂😂

It was a good way to establish the gore and that this film wouldn’t hold back
His death told everyone that any character can die at anytime in this movie.
(Well, except for Harley and Bloodsport. They are obviously won't die in this movie)

It didn't bomb, it was underperformed..

My favorite reason why this film is such a good superhero movie is because James Gunn made it hilarious with touching elements while maintaining a ground based, realistic, practical style.
Child molesting weasel men are very grounded
The funny interactions in the helicopter in something the 1st Suicide Squad was missing hard, which is why this one of the things that makes Gunn’s film so much better in my opinion

Okay not sure if anyone else thinks this or if it’s just me but I feel like Waller knew/hoped everyone here would die for the beach mission. I have a theory she knew about Blackguard being a mole and put on the team the ones she felt were the most expendable like TDK, weasel, Javelin, and Rick Flag (whom I think she knew he’d never cooperate with keeping America’s involvement in project Starfish a secret and was hoping would be killed in the beach mission and when that didn’t work wanted him rescued before any information got into the hands of the enemy and BTW). I mean there were the jokes about the first film Boomer and Harley being odd choices but it does make sense for Waller to use Harley for that and Boomer did try and escape in the previous film and the only thing keeping from doing so is the bomb in his head.
I agree, it was a total setup for them. That's why she made the second team. When you hear her talking to Bloodsport about rescuing Flag, she mentions that because the first team all died they now have the tactical advantage. The bad guys wouldn't have suspected a second team so soon.
For some reason when I looked at this scene 4:29 back in the theater I had a feeling that this movie is going to be great

then as the movie continued I realized I was wrong. Then there was only one part that was good (Harly x husband).

This movie does in 7 minutes what it took the last movie 30 minutes to do. We know the roster of characters and what the point of the task force is. And showing the government agents gambling on who’s going to die was a stroke of genius.
Imagine if the second team was not in the lineup for this movie and the first group was the main characters

Saw this film in a 4DX theater(Felt like a 2 hour version of the Spider-Man ride at Universal) on August 8th (since the USA got it on the 5th of August) with my mom and it was better than the 1st Suicide Squad movie! It's such a shame on how it underperformed at the box office. The movie itself was like Guardians Of The Galaxy due to James Gunn directing it but R-Rated. It was also like a homage to the 80s-90s action films! Gunn might aswell be the Russo Bros of the DC Weirdness like this film, and many more! WB, please let James Gunn direct a Green Lantern Corps film and add obscure weird characters with bigger roles.
He’s actually doing a Peacemaker spin off series that will be on HBO Max on January 13th. The first trailer is out already and Gunn has also stated there is another DC project he is going to work on soon.
As much as I enjoyed this film, I'm pretty bummed that everybody was right about him being the first to go... 😔

he had a cool suit, he used guns, his logo and name looked badass, and he was played by Pete Davidson (who I found to be an intriguing addition in light of his performance from _Kings of Staten Island)._
