How-to flash ITE8987E with RT809F + PEB-1

  • This is not needed on this motherboard because it will be flashed automatically if it's found to be empty. May be useful on the few boards that do not reflash automatically.

    why do you flash EC on your motherboard? is your motherboard blank? i have the same motherboard (DAY11AMB6E0) with blank condition, what is the cause of EC?

    Hello , how you can know that the error is in the EC dump ? I mean is there any voltage missed thak male you know that the problem is the EC ?is ther any website that can i get ec dump ? Thank you

      most laptop technician first acts before services is programing the bios or ec. so the only way to determine the ec good or not is with flashing the ec.

    That means you swapped this EC chip with one already flashed? I bought a new ITE 8587E for my motherboard but the only thing that works is the Power Supply LED and Charging circuit. Maybe i bought a refurbished chip.

      No I think it was blank. I erased it before the video anyway (I did not record it and didn't want to try again since it took 6 Windows reboot before it actually worked…), the chip contained only 0xFF's after.
      However, in this motherboard if you solder a blank chip and try to start the computer, it will eventually work because the EC gets flashed automatically (I don't know how…).
      In your case, it may indeed be pre-programmed but for another motherboard, so you'll have to blank it/reflash it manually.
