I think the Education misunderstood then question or perhaps could have thought about it a bit more. The decision to skip the psle doesn’t have to be made in primary 1. The decision as to which posting group they go to at secondary school can be made based on the recommendation of the primary school teacher in consultation with the parents. I believe this approach is similar to the 11+ exam in the UK. Parents had the option to withdraw their child from taking the 11+. Sure if you want to go to one of the grammar school or somewhere RI in Singapore then the exam would be required if it’s a school that caters to G1 to G3 level then the posting shouldn’t be a problem based to the recommendations and the primary school.
Allowing students to have more social mixing in schools is the right way to go 👍. Perhaps instead of having IP schools, each secondary school can have a special programme that cater to students who can skip O levels, just like how the Sec 4N students can go for PFP without going to Sec 5. This will ensure even more social mixing.
Solution classes offer students hands-on learning experiences, allowing them to recognize their potential and identify their interests with a future career in mind! Built confident to believe they can do it ! STEM subject . Underpriviliged and poor income student should hv the same facilities! The implementation won’t easy ,let see ! As long the education minister is tis person SG is doom!
Always adapting to meet the changing environment, and this is what the s'pore govt is most adept at. Very capable! 👍👍
I would have to say that Min Chan replied well 👏
