Great interview. It's always good to hear how many people that actually knew Elvis loved him. Red West did admit, while being interviewed (interrogated) by the British Fan Club that he wrote the book for money back in 1999. Elvis was very sick hence the medication - many of Elvis' inner circle knew he wasn't well so not sure what reality Elvis was supposed to be shocked into by a book.

The book was not so much of a reality check as it was revenge for being kicked off the gravy train ...

Please write a book on your life and being a witness to what you heard and saw, correct what was written wrong. and let the world know what Needs to be known. Thank you so much for your honesty, I'm sure Elvis would be a great thankful for you. And thank you for being a great rhythm guitarist truley are. You, James Burton, John Wilkerson, Ronnie Tutt, JD and Stamps, Sweet Insperations, Kathy Westmorland, Glen Harden, and the wonderful orchestra, and his true friend Charlie Hodge was the perfect ingredience for the recipe for Elvis music, perfectly orchestrated for the world then now, and forever to experience, and enjoy. Thank you all, Carla Pritchard

Wonderful interview, and Mr Wilkinson gives a good look into what it was like working for Elvis. I agree with his take on Dave Hebler. That guy was a schmuck.

I've heard a little about this story of when they found out that Elvis had died, but I never heard anyone tell it in details like he did. That's really sad. He did a great a job explaining these things to the fans. It never made since to me either when they would say Elvis wanted to go to other countries to do concerts. I could understand it in the late 60's early 70's, but by 76 Elvis was sick. He could barely tour around the USA let alone in other countries. It's too bad he didn't have that twisted colon took care of and that probably would have helped his health a lot in the long run. You body can't keep going if that part of your body isn't working correctly. Poor Elvis.... he thought he had it under control I guess. 😔

What a great interview and and I believe that that book wasn't written Elvis would be here today I remember the book I remember when it came out I didn't realize that I was only 16 what are the effect was on Elvis but as soon as he died I knew that that book had something to do with it it hurried up that event and it's too bad that those guys did that it damn sure like they tried to say that that's what they were doing and I believe the guys in the band and Elvis those were his real friends and Kathy Westmoreland that was his real girlfriend that's who he should have ended up with and I believe if he would have just watch that concert the second from last one that he did live the Hawaiian wedding song which he hardly ever did in his shows in the late seventies and he sang it to her and he put the scarf on her and he basically said I love you right in front of Ginger Alden who was in the audience and I'm glad he did that it was at the end of his life and I think in her heart she knew the deal that is Kathy did

The book story makes sense. Red and Sonny allowed that clown Steve Dunleavy to write the book and what we got was q pack of lies.
