This shit takes me way back. Used to have a burned CD of all my favorite OC Remix tracks and this was the lead. Started skipping after a few years so my brain always wants there to be a short gap at 1:12 but hearing it in full again is great.
Listening to the beginning of this remix its all like The party is traveling peacefully through the slums of Zozo (as peacefully as getting constantly attacked by giants and thieves) and all of sudden they hear a chilling roar. Just then, a being crashes down from the sky. And as the smoke clears and reveals....ATMA WEAPON pissed off beyond imagine, he says:" HEY GUYS, REMEMBER ME!! THE GUY YOU DEFEATED?! I WAS HOLDING BACK THEN...but not anymore. WE FIGHT RIGHT NOW!"
Locke: holding back eh...lets show him who's boss! Sabin:(cracks knuckles) this should be good Shadow:........ Terra: be careful everyone...he may have trick up his sleeve
Finally, a version of the song that is actually different from the original enough to show the artist's creativity while still retaining the original feel and atmosphere of the tune. I've had enough of stupid Techno reimaginanings of Nobuo's work, and am extremely happy to find something different. Kudos to you, good sir.
This is like the best thing I've ever heard, whoa.. seriously!! I'm trying to make game-music too among other genres of theme music, and this just boosted my motivation like hundredfold! So awesome I'm just speechless.. The solo at 1:35 was just so perfectly put in there and the rest was also just marvelous.. Bless!
Alright guys it's time to DANCE!!! You think yer tough? Got what it takes? Well this ENTIRE island is filled with Monsters between us and the Statues and they won't go down easy!!! Do whatever the hell it is you do best and let's work as a group here, our rivals sure will! What the... What the HELL IS THAT!!!
@ocremix Sorry, I meant to say that I have found too many unskilled (in my opinion) people remixing songs into poorly produced techno and completely missing the original feel of the song. I do appreciate techno when it is done right, and I have found a few songs that I really love in that genre.
I really want another RPG.. really.. why don't they make this anymore? This song is fucking phenomenal and I haven't heard anything on par since FFVII or Chrono Cross. Why can't Square release something that blows everyone away anymore?
It's because they've forgotten how to tell a story. The types of RPGs SE have been making since forever have always hinged on the quality of their stories and the storytelling behind it rather than their game mechanics, and yet that's exactly where they've been screwing up the most. They're trying to make "deep" and "complex" stories but in reality it's all just convoluted tripe. They need to remember that all their stories that got the most praise were the ones that were simple but told well.
@Malumbrus Because they can't make up a story line without it being too brooding or too emo. Cases in point FF7, which was a sign of bad games to come but I guess isn't too bad it self, and FF10. I think 90% of FF fans can say tedis or what ever his name is must die! (My view is my view and I pulled punches FF7 fans so either ignore my comment or be nice.)
Final Fantasy VII's story was fine. Cloud wasn't even really all that emo, the only time he actually has a big breakdown is when his life is genuinely shattered. Now, Advent Children is where things really started going to shit, when they turned Cloud into a second Vincent and started to focus on spectacle over substance. It wasn't a game, but the mentality stuck.

Nice extra touch with the using small portions of Castlevania's "Vampire Killer" in this. Brilliantly executed!
Oh man that Castlevania reference was such a treat :D

Choose your favorite boss fight. Pause the game and launch this track. Initiate battle.
I didn't expect this from a 2005 mix. Very nice!

It's odd that everyone notices the reference to the beginning of Vampire Killer around 2:35, yet not the reference to the end of it around 3:01.
Nobuo and the black mages would be freaking proud of this divine masterpiece!

@2:35 Vampire Killer nod!
Drunk
Try Lost Odyssey, heavily reminds me of Old good FF games, make sense considering it's staff was mostly old FF staff.
Is housethegrate still doing remixes? :O
