In May, Chris and I took the Elves of Lothlorien and the Dwarfs or Khazad-dum to Seven Stones 2023, the world's fluffiest tournament for Games Workshop's Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game. A celebration of all things Lord of the Rings. Durin and Celeborn were at the head of two 400-point forces, although they were role-playing as the First Age duo, Thingol and Nauglador.
Excellent as always. Ki is a treasure. Also if you say Thengel instead of Thingol again ill stab you

Tbf, I *tried* to kill bill. But Bill wasn't having any of it. Still, Rumil finally got his comeuppance

i run a similar list of barad dur at 700. sauron, troll chief, troll drummer, orc with banner. very rarely wins, but always hilarious.

Love the idea of balrog and Sauron together. You’d think they would wreck everything but just get tied up. Makes the batrep easy to follow too
I think they probably would with units to screen. But as you say, you can just keep them bogged down. I think we probably didn't even need to kill the balrog, but with its free heroic combat every turn its a little more difficult to pin it in place.

Your channel keeps flipping from the highs of painting with a dog in the wilderness to the lows of doing the most horrendous things in your battle reports like attacking Bill and sitting back during the hero battle. Why do you torment us like this?

loved the video as always. I hope you are feeling better, looked like you were coughing alot. I've actually looked at the quick start rules for this game, and they don't seem overly complex. I might have to try a game or two if I can ever find anyone else to play.

Very late to the party commenting on this one dude but couldn't let it pass given the content! Thanks so much for taking the time to do this, having the event captured in such detail is such a lovely keepsake for us to look back on and it really means a lot. Too many highlights to mention here but I particularly enjoyed the high quality Stealer’s Wheel reference (there's not enough Stealer's Wheel references in SBG TH-cam videos) and the bit at 1 minute 45 seconds where it looks like I’m secretly eavesdropping on you for information. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what you turn up with next year :-) Damian

I will use the dice tray every time I need to roll low. Probably in combination with my battle camper dice, also suitable when you need a 1-2.
Wish things like this happened where I live in the US. Hard to find anyone who plays mesbg around here.

Also I finally have gotten into MESBG and went to my first event last week where I came dead last sadly I didn't even get a wooden spoon for my efforts but still it was an awesome event and can't wait to go to another one.
Ah mate. That happened to me at a legion event last year. No spoon! That should be illegal.

@@BattleCamperHome To be honest It was more of a gameday and less an tournament or if it was a tournament it was very chill. The main thing was I learnt a lot as I'm still fairly new to this and getting out of the squad based movement of Legion.
I took Boromir(fully kitted out) & Madril with 8 rangers with spears, a 4 knights with shields, 3 Osgiliath vets with spear and shield and then 9 warriors with shield to form the front line. It was a 500 point event and the lists at it where amazingly powerful and s good range of factions, Rohan was the most represented with 3 lists for it.
