The officials apparently tried to give her medication or feed her but she didn't want to eat..
She died because she was old, very old. No food or medication helps with that

Machali ruled for years and produced 11 offspring. She was capable of killing 14ft crocodiles. A true legend of the jungle. The greatest bengal tiger to walk the lands of India. RIP beautiful beast.
Its tough out there in the wild but Machli lived a long life. An incredible tigress.
When she is walking away , made my heart sink. Felt that she does not have much time left on this plane

She was 20 years old, lost her left eye, several wounds of fight with male tigers. 2 canine lost when she killed 14 feet long crocodile and 2 remaining canine also also as she got older. so without canine it was difficult to hunt. also old age. So she was getting weaker at the age of 20.
and at last died in 2016 due to old age and no hunting.
We cud have saved her why humans didnt do anything

I wish people would let her pass into legend without having to intrude into her life as it came to an end. After all, that's what you wanted her to be remembered, a legendary beast. I saw the video once and it was enough. I wish I had never seen it.

it is so distressing to see a beautiful creation of nature, who once was but, now is not, maintaining her dignity to her last breath. God loves all his creations, man creates the concept of "good" and "bad"

I never thought I would cry so much for the passing of a tiger! I saw a documentary on hotstar on machli and her last days! If i was there i would have given her some food or water, it is so bad that they let ger die like that! I am upset!
It was better she died. Rather than feeding her and extending her lifespan, it was better she died as she already suffering from old age. A tigerres’s lifspan is naturally 12-14 years but she ended up living 20 years which is not natural. She struggled a lot in her old age years. Anyways… RIP Machli

Mufasa lost his right eye after he fights with full grown male lions his 2 canine were lost after he helped machali kill The crocodile and 2 remaining canine also and he died of old age and no hunting R.I.P machali 1996/97-2016 and R.I.P mufasa 1986/87-2016 he was 30 years old older 8 to 16 years older than the average lifespan of lions in the wild on august 2016 Machali found lying on her side and staving on September 2016 mufasa was found lying on his side and staving mufasa lion in his last days

Sure made me sad, looking at Machli in its old and helpless state... Death in the wild for top enders in the food chain is invariably due to clan/territorial fights, old age (and hence insbility to hunt) or disease...
A thought flashed, as I was watching Machli... Could there be a way, of tranquilising the old and infirm from the cat family, in our jungles and rehabilitating them in zoos, where they could be ensured a decent diet, till death comes to conclude their time?? The benefit would be same as any other age profile zoo animal... i.e to thrill the visitors... What does it matter whether a visitor is getting to see a youthful tiger or an old one..??
At the same time, moving it out of the jungle causes no imbalance to the stability there, since its as such destined to die..(except for the scavengers meal options perhaps))

It’s a loving thought but she lived really well like 18-19 years which is phenomenal for a tiger , she had a wild death which was her destiny so it should be better that way. Think a tigress who rules Ranthambore - how she would feel in a jail, if I would her I would liked to die free than in a cage.

Is it true she lost her teeth in this epic battle? Just how hard is it for a big cat to bite through Crocodiles skin especially the back of the neck? I mean the Jaguar easily can get through Caiman and crush the spine? So?
Yes the story is story , and crocs can be huge, Jaguar hunt nearly 1/4 size of a croc which Machali fought, you can see the video available on video. Thanks for your comment !!
Did she die of old age or starvation because she did not hunt? Does this mean that you let her starve and then cry for her ???? If this was what happened to you without mercy. It would have been possible to put it in a shelter and feed it is not difficult and does not oppose nature, then here we are dealing with a myth. Your command is strange in dealing with nature according to whims
She was a wild tiger and she died a natural death - no wildlife warden can interfere in that ..
She lived a free life why take that away from her..And its nature and man shouldn't intervene here...

She gave birth to 11 cubs, in 4 times throughout his life..

Weiß nicht aber bei einem Tiger zugucken wie es langsam, und qualvoll stirbt ist nicht schön, man hätte ihr helfen können das die Tigerin wennigstens, nicht so leiden musste aber tagelang zugucken ist nicht in Ordnung, man hätte ihr ein bisschen helfen können aber nicht so, wenn das sein Freund war.
