    By adding a Small Reactor Booster in Module 4, you can get just enough power to equip a Pinard (for ELINT) or a VLS-16/23 for offense or defence capabilities. This will still keep you under the power threshold.
    A Pinard will provide even further spotting range in the form of ELINT and cost 255 points in total.
    A VLS-16 can be used to counter enemy spotters and costs between 225-353 points (based on number and type of loaded missiles).
    A VLS-23 provides survivability in the form of chaff and ripostes to counter thunderheads and hurricanes which are the missiles likely to be aimed at this ship. 220-266 points based on chaff/riposte quality and mix.

    Would love to see more builds & fleet reviews. Even just going through the most common fleet builds seen in MP games.

    i simply use frigate as spotter. the extra energy \ space allow you to put a prowler drive, having around the same profile of a corvette but more power for 2 pinnard and a bulleyes to lock targets ( removing the problem of having only the spyglass as spotter and its realy bad position\speed errors ) .
    you could keep it empty, costing around 70 more points than a corvette , or you can fill it up with pinnard and bulleye , even a gun ( i suggest a mk62 with 100 HREF for defensive\offensive capabilities) for around 400 points.

    I've found that you can actually have both a Pinard *and* a Bullseye, but in order to use the bullseye you have to turn off the radar. Very good for rail fleets where accurate tracks are important. That said, if you aren't getting pinard readings on your intended target, getting that lock can be fiddly.

    I'd like to see some more videos like this, I don't like asking people for their fleets since that's basically them telling me how they can be beaten as well as how to build them, and I don't like copying people's ships, but I do sometimes need some pointers on model placement.
    I think next maybe an Ewar ship
    or a Missile ship.
    My personaly interests start around Destroyer. straight to heavy Cruiser/BB level. So how to build smaller ships efficiently might help, Great vid JDee.

    I don't like the spyglass corvette. Spyglass frigate is much better, it is cheaper for the same radar, can use an adaptive radar receiver which is critical on your scout, and can even slot a pinard and a DC loxker which are very helpful. The larger signature is not a big deal since your scout ship should stay very far away.

      Issue is more invested points. How much is that, 300? 400?
      Still dies to the first hit... And is slower.

      260 for spyglass with ARR and pinard and 5 chaff and rapid DC. I think those are all valuable, but if you just want the spyglass and ARR it's 210 vs 215 for FFL spyglass without ARR.
      Yes it's slower but it can repair flank damage and detects things further away with ARR which is the whole point of this scout ship, and staying further away (because you detect from further) is the best way to stay safe.
      No, a frigate with rapid DC doesn't die in 1 hit, they actually have a gooda amount of tankiness. What is even hitting you at 10km? Almost nothing can even lock you, and you have chaff for missiles (and enough time to dodge).

    Another excellent video! I would like to see a 3k light cruiser task force, optimized to counter the standard beam destroyer fleet.

      Your counter is kite, never get into 6k range. Issue is, missiles.
      I'm more worried about TTK with guns, even 10*250s can't stop stuff before they get lasered or missiled to death by corvettes.
      Guns need a serious buff to make them useful. Right now even 450s are almost useless considering rails beams or missiles.

      @@jmkhenka I agree. Staying out of beam range is key. What I was wondering about was JDee's ideas regarding balancing modifications that provide gun accuracy, ewar, DC, and PD.

    Great video. My only criticism (and I'm being rather picky here, so don't worry about it too much) is the background music. Ideally add it after making all the cuts and edits, so it's uninterrupted.

      Fair criticism, I am always trying to improve the editing/quality. I think I need to turn off the background game music for this videos when recording and then add something in post.

      @@JDeeGaming I think this could possibly solved with smooth transitions rather than hard cuts. The music would still be interrupted, but it wouldn't "pop" so obviously. Or, as you mention, adding it in post. I think I saw someone post the game soundtrack on YT, so I suppose you could use that? And if you want to keep other game sounds then you could set the in-game music to 0 for the recording process (assuming the game permits). Sorry if I'm being obvious - just thinking out loud how I'd try to solve this.

    Hey, I like your work but please, don't record the background music as you speak because cuts just hack it into pieces and thats annoying to listen too.
    Instead, let it play on a seperate track so it goes (through the cuts) nice and steady.
    Edit: By the way, would you recommend adding a reactor booster to also fit an ELINT detector? Is it worth the tradeoff in being easier to see?

      Fair call. Ive managed to get the music from the artist so will overlay that in the background for future tutorial/instructional videos.
      In terms of the reactors booster and Pinard, if you have the points it can certainly be useful. The extra 5% radar signature wont matter too much and with the way this ship is played it should be in a safe spot enabling you to get the maximum use of the pinard.

    don't use radar at all
    adding a Pinard will let you see out to 14,000
    radar signature will be at 2k and you won't need a reactor
    can add size 3 missiles that don't need a radar lock
    and you're invisible out to 8,000
    point cost 150 without missiles

      Certainly doable. Just remember that the pinard will let you see out to 14,000 if the enemy is using a spyglass but you wont see a ship with a frontline or parallax at that range.
