  • If you'd like to support my channel and order some grips using my Amazon Affiliate link, please use one of the links below.
I highly recommend any of these:
Ergon GP5 Grips: amzn.to/3k6gNzV (my favorite, big platform with bar ends)
Ergon GP1 Grips: amzn.to/3fh8gpW (nice large round platform, no bar ends)
Ergon GP1 Cork: amzn.to/2BQBX3E (I've wanted to try these, see if less slippery)
Ergon GS1 Grips: amzn.to/3fgVJTE (less rounded than the GP1, no bar ends)
I would stay away from these unless you're riding on wide trails or places with no trees:
    Ergon GP3: amzn.to/3i0RRrH
Ergon also has some more traditional round grips which I have not tried and have no idea if I'd like them or not but here are some links to them:
    Ergon GA2: amzn.to/315IMH5
    Ergon GA3: amzn.to/3giMGCL
    Ergon GE1: amzn.to/2Da5EgH (Enduro, colors!)

Interesting point on getting the hooked versions to avoid tree snags. Thanks for the review.

Im just ordered my Ergon GP5 yesterday and a little bit worried if it's to big or a GP3 would enough but your video convinced me I made the right decision thank you!

I hadn't even thought of the ability to rest your palm on the lower surface while resting your fingers on the upper bar end. Nice idea!

Love your video, this has helped me to order mine. Takes time to get to Japan but I can't wait.

You mention them getting hit by trees which is interesting. Have they experienced the impact of your bike falling over (for whatever reason) and striking the handlebars? I've read that some say the GP4 & GP5s break easy from that. I would appreciate any feedback on that issue, thanks.

Use the small type and put a non adhesive tape on. It improves grip, softens it a bit, is warmer in winter, and the grips never wear out, only the tape does.

      What kind of tape?

@@MTBIKEXC look on Amazon for non adhesive handlebar tape. I tried sending you links, but YT keep removing them.

@@MTBIKEXC you could use the more popular adhesive type, but I'm concerned it might leave a sticky mess when removed.

@@nivekvb Damn TH-cam. :-) My wife has worn through a pair of Egon's she's had for a zillion years. They owe her nothing but I kind of like the idea of making these a little grippier. Thanks!

Nice vid. How far back towards the rider can you bring the hook part back to give a more upright relief position?

What size of Ergo grip do you have?

    • @MTBIKEXC
      @MTBIKEXC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

I had the medium size and switched to the large, didn't like them initially but have gotten used to them.

Were the mediums too small for you and uncomfortable ?

@@yoooo5542 Actually, I think the mediums were perfect. The large size took some getting used to.

I hate these grips, they're an utterly useless gimmick.
