Oh tonight is definitely THAT song. The whole rising sun album is a masterpiece, like every single song. Every song on that album feels very nostalgic and it's amazing
This is the first group that got me into kpop. They are unmatched! Idc ill fight anyone but this group top tier! You want more stuff like tonight? You gotta hear love in the ice. Me too.. TVXQ was the group that got me into kpop, and it was already with only 2 members. It was Catch Me era. And yes Before U Go is a must.. but all MVs, the short, the long and the performance ver lol
Same! They were my first one too! I found them during the Catch Me era though. Wish I would've gotten to see them as five, but all of their songs are so good! Unmatched kings!!
Keep your head down was their first comeback as a duo I believe...a lot rode on the success of the song. They describe this as a very stressful period in their lives, coming after the immense success of ot5 and a long absence from the music scene due to the lawsuit.

Their vocal ability is truly unmatched. There is no group before or after TVXQ comparable to them skills wise (at least imo). They are just so special. And the craziest thing is they are just as good, if not BETTER, live!!! 😍
There's ONE cut in Spellbound - yes they did that. (In the live performances there are no cuts - they just do it from start to finish). This is what you get when you have grown ass men who are super talented, have super chemistry and have been on top for about 2 decades just show what they can do.
if i remember correctly, keep your head down was their first comeback as a duo. after going through a huge and very public split like that, their next comeback had to be more than perfect to say the least. and i think keep your head down DELIVERED
The guy you like in Keeo Your Head Down is the leader, Yunho also known as Uknow.
TVXQ is simply divine. All 5 have fantastic solo music too. I am so happy to see new people discover these legends!

oh shit im so happy you picked TONIGHT. that song is a showcase to people who didnt know about them, BUT, just fyi, they have a looottt lot of song that similar or even better than it 😂 lee soo man once picked those 5 guys who were originally to be a main vocal of different groups but bc it was kinda emergency so he debuted all of them in one group lmao. current tvxq are amazing as well, like yunho (u-know) he often taking xiah and hero parts. hero was the main vocal and xiah was the lead, yet yunho can killed it in his own way too! seriously you have so many on your plate if you want to check them more, i wish you'd do it. you wont regret to know the rarest 💎 of kpop. let me know if you want to check about their japanese discography, but korean are bangers too!
Keep Your Head Down was the first single that was released by TVXQ as a 2 member group. You would like their second song promotion Before U Go. I recommend the dance performance version over the drama version.
pls watch Nissan Live concert in a rain storm, they set stadium and Japanese records, TVXQ/Tohoshinki were know for
their live concerts, at eerie peak broke records for most registered fan base

yes hero jaejoong was and still the most handsome/beautiful and talented idol to ever exist in kpop. His aura is just so unique.
there will be never be another group like them. there's a reason they are called kings/gods of kpop. they opened all the doors to kpop to become popular outside korea. they did it all in the hardest way and they literally molded kpop as it is now.
TVXQ as the 5 are gods and there performance at the Tokyo dome is that of legends also Jaejoong has some fantastic solos
i still can't believe these older groups were SANGINGG and most people were missing out.. you just don't see idols hitting insane high notes fearlessly like this anymore

Spellbound definitely isn't one shot, there are 2 clear cuts in it, could be more hidden by editing, but it's mostly one shot

Keep Your Head Down was released the same year as Girls Generation The Boys so the sets MAY or least proof of concept wherein both songs have a lot of attitude. I was waiting for this reaction…KYHD forreal deserves more love. Ty

When NCT's Taeyong debuted, everyone saw the similarities between him and JaeJoong. Their facial structure is known as the SM look. 😂 I see you've noticed how pretty Hero Jaejoong is.
TVXQ is a Chinese acronym. We Koreans call them Dong Bang Shinki aka DBSK. It actually stands for The Gods Rising from the East. People used to make fun of it. The SM founder loved how the Chinese characters (Hanja) looked and he gave them all 4 syllable stage names.
They trained together with the members of Super Junior so they're all very close.
There are a few idols in SM known for their overflowing passion and Yunho leads the group. Shinee's Minho and Exo's Suho are included in that group.
DBSK are truly famous in Japan. They were sent over to japan to start over from nothing so worked their way up organically in Japan. Of course they speak Japanese fluently. They and BOA were the first ones to gain success in the Japanese market.
Yunho was the leader and oldest and Changmin was the baby and they were the two that remained with SM. Cant believe Changmin is already married.
BTW - Yunho was seriously injured when a crazed saesang poisoned him but he refused to press charges because the criminal was a young girl, the same age as his younger sister. Yunho is known for being righteous and having integrity.
Spellbound is one of my favorite songs ever!!! Its so good
I would suggest: Purple Line (the iconic beginning), Tri-Angel (just for the hair alone), Balloons (so cute), Love in the Ice, My little princess (for OT5)

Before U Go is one of my most favorite tvxq songs. And it has more of that RnB vibe like "tonight" which you enjoyed. Also "wrong number" was a peak ot5 track. Highly recommend.

"Keep Your Head Down" is showing why TVXQ are Rising Gods of the East. I think this is one of their songs that fits their name well. And this song was designed to show just how powerful they were. It was meant to prove to everyone that even as a duo they would continue to be the Gods that their name represented. Ever since debut SM wanted TVXQ to have God-like status and Changmin and U-Know personify that with songs like this one. "Keep Your Head Down" was released at the beginning of 2011. It was their first comeback after splitting from JYJ and it's the performance that solidified them as two of the top artists in the industry. This song showed everyone just how capable they were as artists -- that they could continue as just the two of them and never miss a beat.They are one of the most powerful and well respected duos, and with almost 20 years in the industry, there is no doubt they have legendary status -- and they are still blowing people away with their talent.
"Rising Sun" came out in 2005 about a month before Super Junior debuted with their song "Twins (Knock Out)" -- this song makes a lot more sense when you look at what SM's other groups and Kpop groups in general were doing around this time -- the hard rock, grunge vibe was just the style of music that SM and the Kpop industry was playing around with back then, the whole song, MV and style was very on trend.

It was a high risk comeback, back then Jaejoong WAS TVXQ, his face and voice were everywhere, so after separation it made sense most of the fandom would side with JYJ. Plus them being the little guy against the big company helped a lot, and prior to/during the disbandment JYJ was pumping good music like crazy, music that showed how hurt they were and how they would fight and wait for the other two to break free and join them, it was a solid narrative!! Changmin and Yunho were also the oddest couple as they were the two most distant to eachother, if you ever had to pick two to be an act back then, no one would've ever chose them!! Changmin too was the least popular member. All odds were favoring JYJ, guess that's why SM had such a strong choke hold on not allowing them to go into any type of broadcast, that's the only reason of why they couldn't resurface in the industry completely. That still doesn't belittle the great work that TVXQ did to rebuild themselves as 2, to bond over their struggles and set themselves in stone as top tier class in kpop!!

Super Junior, EXO, Shinee, and BToB for me. Eunkwang is probably the only other idol male vocalist who can reach as high as Changmin and still able to do A WHOLE CIRCUS with his voice while at it.

Keep your head down is a war song. The 1st song released after 5 down to 2 persons. It is not easy to keep running under big name DBSK only with 2 persons. But they survived !

You should listen to the Korean version of Kelly Clarkson's song Timeless performed by Junsu and Zhang Li Ying (former sm solo artist). That is one masterpiece and the music video is a whole movie.
TVXQ is so extra in everything they do ahah, but I'm not complaining 😂

Ugh I can never get tired of hearing Junsu(my bias) and Jaejoong's vocals! Yeah it's unfortunate groups and fans don't care for vocals nowadays calling it "dated." I guess training vocals is an afterthought. I need a resurgence.
Until this day, I can only stan groups from sm ent like srsly the Vocals! Vocalists from Sm Ent are literally a diff breed, the technique, skills❤️

Thanks so much for doing more TVXQ!, I was going to comment on the 1st part, but my chronic pain has been kicking my ass, but like a lot of ppl in the comments TVXQ! is 1 of 3 kpop groups I discovered 1 day in 2008...
Jaejoong is still my ult bias, 1st of 2, & the fact that he's main vocal with that voice on top of everything just proves God has faves...
Also Xia Junsu is the other main that was going off w/his unique vocal tone/power it's not surprising he's excelled in musicals...
It really speaks to the lol of talent when Changmin & his mutant lungs were not the main feat., but used more like accents to the rest, like Jongdae in Exo, doing the highest tenor parts, this was also cuz he is the baby, debuted at 15 sounding like that...
But obviously after JYJ left he was THE main vocal & maturity/experience has made him only get better...
Also, SM was in it's r&b stride with them & Yoo Youngjin, the genius vocal/producer/vocal coach that is the main reason for the SM sound we now know, losing him in solidarity during the drama w/LSM was a big blow...

Rising Sun is a favorite of mine. i can’t help but dance along whenever it comes up my playlist. 😂😂 did you know that Jaejoong was injured during the filming of this mv? that’s why in the dance break a dance with the same hairstyle and mask was dancing in his place. 😂😂😂 of course, changmin’s vocals are 🔥🔥🔥
Tonight is also a favorite of mine from their many ballads. their vocals and harmonizations are just so amazing. no other group can come close. there is just something in their vocals and especially when they harmonize that just hits differently. and as you’ve found out, they can all sing (and they can all rap too). also, the that’s Jaejoong you keep pausing on, both in Rising Sun and Tonight 😆😆😆 he is indeed very pretty. 😆😆😆 it’s why his nickname is Visual Shock. he shocked me with his visuals. that deep speaking voice is Micky (Yoochun)

Spellbound is ❤❤❤ that song is the first time they danced with female dancers and cassies loved it! the choreo is so 🔥🔥🔥 along with the casino concept. the incorporation of jazz is just ❤ classic with a modern twist in TVXQ’s unique performance style 😊

Oh also the only other group that has amazed me as much as TVXQ vocally is Forestella! Definitely recommend them too!
