Brings back many happy memories of Jet boating in New Zealand in the late '70's and the first World jet Boat Championships. Spent a lot of time over last few years in Idaho and think it is one of America's best kept secrets!
Really enjoyed watching this vid. Of course, as a professional marine mechanic, I know that the life of your jet drives are dramatically shortened each time you guys jump, with the sand being sucked into the water intake, and ripping the shaft seals to shreds before destroying the bearings and devistating the contour of the drive impeller. But hey, its not my equipment, and I'm not paying for the damage, so..."Fly On, Dudes!" You rock. See you at the repair shop in a couple weeks.
Hamilton never claimed to have invented the jet boat. He once said "I do not claim to have invented marine jet propulsion. The honour belongs to a gentleman named Archimedes, who lived some years ago."
Bad as$, seriously nice boats & a perfect song choice loved it & the video. Keep up the the good work & fun times!! One of my favorite past times & another BLS song ~ Fire it up!!
The music matches the video well. Cool video. I'm a jet boat operator with a 100 ton masters. Lets me know I may not need to be so careful. Looks like a blast. Takes some guts to just step up and run over some stuff like that.
Impressive. Idaho happens to be the jet boat capitol. With 1 or 2 builders across the border in Washington. If the builder is really good this is only half the stuff these boats can do. And without your boat hull going to "shit". Impressive video guys.
I gave you a thumbs up but then I saw that poor moose. BooHoo :( Back to the boat. Those hulls sure can take a beating! That would scare me jumping over land, though. The spin outs I just posted is more than enough for MY stomach!!
Yes, the music is quite fine. The boat, you have to be kidding me? I have seen a lot of things in my days; I have never seen a boat so perfect and, perfect. Mark my words, when I win the lottery and am on television, my shout-out will be to SJX tellin them I'm going there next. Did I mention perfect?
It's a 3/16 aluminum hull with UHMW plastic. I'm guessing the keel may have additional plate. These boat hulls can pound off the worst impacts no worse for the wear. It's going to hurt you before it hurts the boat. Merc sportjet motors are damn near bulletproof. Pull the rocks out of the intake and keep going. They won't run in gravel for long, but that's why impellers and wear rings are replaceable. Black Label Society is good shit too.
@milescarter1 Richard Schulzkump The Propeller Company LHC,AZ The boat has one of four motors; we might expect a big block but their bouncing around too much.My opinion- a 460,454, 350, it could be old 455 if they borrowed Gramps motor. My guess is a 350 chevy- it keeps the motor weight down, maintains speed- though they arent going very fast - its probably a 40 to 45mph boat- a bit optimistic- they have enough speed to do what they are doing- looks like a damn good time...
HELL YAAAA!!! Damm good video that boat kicks ass I'm going to build something similar for my area out here in the Sacramento delta off the SF bay I need something that'll take to the mud and shallows in some of the islands locally
Here are some answers to some of the comments left on here: *All SJX Jet Boats are 100% made here in Idaho. (Welding, Rigging, Painting, UHMW Bottoms, etc.) Feel free to come by the shop and see it 1st hand! *All boats featured in the video's are still out on the water today. None of the boats were destroyed, wrecked, or severely damaged. Our boats are designed for running shallow water and the UHMW bottom protection is a unbelievable upgrade that allows you to skim/jump over debris if needed
Also I guess there is a 'grid' on the intake - however I also assume that the impeller will be affected by stones/debris being abrasive and damaging it over time?
The limitation of the performance in these boats surely is not the structure of the boat, but the structure of the people in it. There is a limt to what the human frame can tollerate and if one thinks that when young the body can take it, well wait till one gets a little older as such punishement is carried forward in the human body, and the aches and pains in joints normally have a reason traced to our younger days.
They're not hunting or fighting dogs in this video are they? They're lawfully hunting a moose, HUGE difference! And That's what you initially commented on.
Why the 90° windshield???..other than that ..goodlooking boat ..but man I wouldn't beat it up like that..guess these guys are show casing it's durability. .I know about the agility, I want one myself..spent several days on the Columbia and Cowlitz in thunderjets and few Duckworths..

And I thought #boats were only for #water ! Awesome collection by +insaneBoaters of what SJX #Jet Boats can do!
You know, this is really badass. Bet they could make a great rescue craft too.

way way to much fun. awesome just got a 1989 Ultranautics Jet-Star 1250 for the wife. working on getting it lake ready before spring
Very nice. Is there some kind of screening to keep rocks out of the jet pump?
Looks like a lot of fun! What does the SJX has for power?
Super sweet!! but why is the same footage in the other vids too??
wow ... this threads heated.... keep up the chatter boys.. it's better than anything on tv
I bet the guys at the factory love these guys. "Great, we gotta sand and paint all the bottoms AGAIN."
Wow, those are some ballsy stunts! I'm guessing the black material on the bottom is UHMW?
after the first jump i was so glad that the video is 4 and a half minutes long!
Black Label Society, jumping jet boats, and hunting? You dudes know how to have a good time.
sick. I just bought a boat and now I want one of these.
Them Duke boys are up to no good again!
what kind of Boat is that what model????. Never seen this style before. Nice. Good choice of music.
How do you keep from caveating the pump and keep the grate clean? And look's like alot of fun!! just curious?
Can you bring one to Mud Creek Alabama and try it out on the Lilly pads and moss?
The best part is watching the passenger hang on for his life!
The hulls on those boats must be reinforced very well Id love to see the design
Awesome video and kick ass song!
How much do these run? I'm in the market for a jet boat and these just look like tons of fun.

cool stuff! But not one life jacket being worn?
Is the water down or is that just the way it always looks there? If it is down, then why is it so low?
Nice video. You guys rock.
awesome video and cool boat
Amazing footage And great music.... May I know name And model of the boats??? I'm looking for a jet river boat And seems perfect!!
Aaaah... Remember that every time when you spawned a Jetmax in GTA SA just to jump out of water just like these guys? ;)
4 minutes of my life I will never get back
Jet powered john boats! Love it!
Tunnel Hulls
do you need to shut the pump down when you hit the dirt
+elwood bigman na u gotta rev it right up whilst going across the land, got it rev the shit out of then engin and everythink hunkie dory, right, got it.
It seems like one of those things that could go really wrong if it's bedrock with a sharp edge.
The sjx website has clips from this video on their homepage
Nice! How shallow can u run it?
3 inches!
HELL YAAAA!!! Damm good video that boat kicks ass I'm going to build something similar for my area out here in the Sacramento delta off the SF bay I need something that'll take to the mud and shallows in some of the islands locally

ever suck up rocks? or u guys got a way to prevent that on these boats
its a good way to keep the bottom clean
that looks fun ass hell and I would love to see the dents at the bottom of the boat
Does foreign material not get sucked into the intake?
Also I guess there is a 'grid' on the intake - however I also assume that the impeller will be affected by stones/debris being abrasive and damaging it over time?
That looks like a blast!
boaties who watched too much dukes of hazard
Man you could get out to the best fishing spots in a hurry with that little toy. Hahaha
is that poly on the bottom or frogspit ?
0:33 No, a 12.5 fps camera CANNOT be used to shoot slow motion.
I do believe you just created a new sport👍
Why is it that every water basin in the country seems to be ridiculously low?

How do you keep dirt and rocks from getting into the intake when you hit the dirt?
what kind of powerplant powers its big jetpump?
what are the bottom of these boats made of?! surely cant just be fiberglass...
THAT is some goddamn cowboy shit rite there!!!! You guys are my new heroes!!!!
If I had a boat as durable as this, I would do shit like this all the time.
How often do you change the prop? :D
I would love to own two of these boats for tourism on the Albany River in Ontario Canada.Do they finance???????
Aluminum, with some kind of plastic/Teflon lining (the newest ones).
Jet drives are slow to accelerate. But are great for jumping.!
not much we do this in la , only in outboards
For some reason I think those boats are planning to being sold just before the jumps 🤣
They're not hunting or fighting dogs in this video are they? They're lawfully hunting a moose, HUGE difference!
And That's what you initially commented on.
how fast do these boats run
Are these teflon coated bottoms?
Does this void the warranty?
what jet are you running? Hamilton 212?
the majority of those "light boats " are running sport jets, made by Mercury Marine
Ah, that explains it.
And that looks like a workout in itself!
I would try to turn the boat a little bit before i went off and try to do a 180 or even a 360
Perfect for Lake Mead, well, until you get to the Dam! Damn...
Lake Mead was a rip back in 75, I had my jet drive boat in a slip at the Las Vegas Marina all summer, the water was even clean back then. lol.
plus the damage to the keel of the haul, much less all the broken ribs to re weld, lol, but yes still freaking awesome,
This is bad ass brother.
depends on the hull...
I want one so bad. Watching this makes sitting in an office excruciating.
Why the 90° windshield???..other than that ..goodlooking boat ..but man I wouldn't beat it up like that..guess these guys are show casing it's durability. .I know about the agility, I want one myself..spent several days on the Columbia and Cowlitz in thunderjets and few Duckworths..
видео просто супер.музыка в тему.Молодцы,я тоже так хочу.Лодки просто классные
This looks like fun!
Cool, but sack the guy that did the windscreen,is that a bit of a bus? Hahahahaha
I guess not a lot of problems with barnacles or algae buildup on the bottom of these boats.
So sad to see the water so low
you could do that with an outdrive too.......once
nah you pull the motor up before the jump
kick ass! I can't wait to try it with my rC boat the Balaenoptera Musculus hahaha.
How thick is the hull?
How many a them jumps could u hit b4 ur hull goes 2 shit?
