    I definitely needed this conversation post-election. It was smart, constructive, and informative. I really understand the big picture better - one that looks beyond candidates, swing states, campaigns, etc.

    For many racists/white supremacists, the issue is the idea that any success by someone else is a loss to their group. "Success" is a zero sum game.

    I am glad that sherylyn pointed out the importance of the 2020 census and the effects that Gerrymandering has had on the election process.

      The problem with the republican party having control over the country is dangerous. They have never helped the working class and never will. Your president is dangerous and his party is fearful of his unorthodox behavior. He will go against his own party. He change the entire democratic process and decorum during his campaign and now as the president elect; He displaying a lack of leadership but still tweeting about people who speaks against him. He has very thin skin and he's a threat to society because he would bomb the shit out a country if he feels threaten to prove his point. He needs to display etiquette behavior being one of the most powerful people in the world. He act like a child during his campaign and his behavior being your president is a misrepresentation of the country and he lacks integrity and/or core values.!!!!! Wake up and smell the truth about the Republican party and a thin skin man as president.

      Cynthia Savage You understate the amount of adversity Trump faced to win the election. The man has thick skin and superhuman energy.

    I am SOOOO sick of this voter ID bullshit, I arranged 2 weeks in advance to switch shifts with someone, drove my GF downtown to the DMV that was the only in the county with an available appointment that month & spent 5 hrs to get her an ID. all of this was just because you need an ID to live let alone vote, if getting an ID is so fucking hard then informing yourself about what you are voting for will be even harder.

    • @tmitchem81
      @tmitchem81 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kelly Edens you definitely don't understand how voter id laws work in various states. Also access, including you fiscal access to gas and your girlfriends access to a car. you also sound very young in age, and do not tap into the elderly population and mobility issue. its not just about getting an id. Understanding Voter suppression, geography plays a huge part, as well as economics. its just not an issue of lazy or folks not taking time.

    • @kellyedens2619
      @kellyedens2619 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      tmitchem81 I am 42, the dmv I took her to was an hr each way with traffic & it cost her 10 dollars to get it. As for the elderly population & mobility issue, there are charities here that arrange rides for elderly people to do that. I work in seniorcare so I know all about those issues, on top of what I just suggested they also have these things called mail in ballots. If that isn't enough where you live then get your local poilitical party to do it, if they want votes they need to provide something to their voters. It is called a GOTV drive, I need my ID to drive, to buy alcohol, to fly, to get into a bar or pretty much to walk down the street. I have ZERO sympathy for anyone to lazy to go get an ID & laziness is all it is. It takes a day out of your life, big fucking deal the benefits of it are worth far more than that one day. I am what my friends call a super lib, I think the ID should be free, I am for single payer, pro life etc, but that it is so hard to find out when the DMV is open, make an appt & go is not something I can believe in this day & age of the smartphone.
      BTW, my 87 year old wheelchair bound grandmother had an ID when she died because she got together with a few people & they hired a transport van to get them there, it was expensive at 25 a person, but they all got their IDs. She did that because she didn't want to be a burden on us to help her when she knew full well we would have

      I am FORTY TWO years old balding & have grey hair in my beard, I got carded buying beer the other day. You REALLY want to tell me you don't need an ID to live? I get carded everytime I go in and cash a check from one of my patients since it is a personal check to. I get carded a minimum of once every week & you expect me to believe that getting an ID is that fucking hard? I switched shifts with someone at work a few weeks ago in order to spend a day getting one for my GF, I have a friend in georgia who works at a pre-school they watch kids for free on days that the parents can show they are at the DMV or similar. If it is so hard to get an ID, it would be equally hard to spend the day in line voting anyways so if they are to lazy to get an ID I guarantee they are almost universally to lazy to go vote
      . I also love how you COVENIENTLY left out & refused to address the parts about getting into a bar, buying alcohol etc that are all other things an ID is necessary for

      so, it is ok to make me have to get an id to make a purchase of alcohol or smoke a cigarette, but if all I want is to cast a vote determining the future of the entire country I shouldn't need one? is that REALLY your argument here?

    • @kellyedens2619
      @kellyedens2619 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      AndroidPolitician
      nope & that is exactly why it should be less important to smoke or drink than to vote. I am going to bet you have no problem with my needing ID to buy a gun, that is a fundamental right directly mentioned in the constitution for ALL citizens, so your argument is invalid because of sheer hypocrisy. You can't be against needing an ID for one right, but for it on another.
