    Another helpful hint is to go high 200 300ft and dive see how the quad handles when your diving aim at a target.

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      that is a great point! once you learn to trust your timing to get behind the object, working on dives for that smooth entry is a terrific idea.

  • @leonardterlevic4765
    @leonardterlevic4765 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The best I could put it:
    Slowly pull the pitch stick back, keep a constant throttle (somewhere around 30-40%), watch your surroundings and when you see the ground decrease the throttle to 0% and level out.

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the hardest part is that catch when you start applying throttle to keep the end of the loop smooth and out of dirty air for prop wash. That one does take a bit of time, but when it clicks it clicks!

    interesting story, in my first two weeks flew with a well experienced friend who was coaching me into power loops. was pulling them off perfect one by one. Well it was a fluke becuase any other time I was completely ruining them, back flips back down into object, moon shots into the sky, moon shots off to the left or right.😂 I have it down now to a science when I can power loop branches inside trees but man it too some work, practice and alot of patience. Interesting you fly at 15 degrees. crazy low. I fly around 25-35 degrees usually. Sometimes I wonder how my style would be in a lower angle. Ive always felt like a higher angle I fly alot smoother and straighter becuase it forces you to have more forward momentum and it just stuck. Great video man!

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it is all in the throttle control for sure!!! I wish I had trees big enough to power loop branches on :( all of the trees here are basically big shrubs with trunks, lol. I like the low angle since I do a lot of yaw moves, which that angle is really geared to. If I were doing lots of proxy or wanted to really do pitch based moves without being so blind, I would be right there with you in the above 25 zone!

    Power loops... sensitive subject...
    I can even do some quite steady orbits now, but power loops are still my nemesis.
    I know the explanation is probably just mere coincidence but why do I regularly have the feeling that strong wind gusts tend to ALWAYS happen just in those critical seconds and from the worst possible suddenly changing direction?😅😑 and in my location that's when I'm even lucky enough it isn't too cold and it isn't raining.
    But hey no excuses, next possible window of opportunity I shall try this again and apply some of this.

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Happy new year to you as well!!! I am going to make you feel better and say that the wind gusts are always there, your quad is just more impacted by them in those critical seconds since usually the quad isn't belly or back to the wind until that point. You aren't making it up, it is totally real! Let me know how they go when you get the chance to try them again :)

    currently i only have a bitsa, i had a moblite with a stuffed internal receiver, i coul only put the receiver on uart2 because uart1 seems to just not work, so i had to disable smart audio, this caused me to have no video because apparently the vtx needs smart audio connected to know what to do with itself, you cant just set it up then disconnect it and have it retain them settings, so i had a tinyhawk3 with a cooked esc, and i jumpered power from the moblite board to power the tinyhawk board, samwedged it all together with the tinyhawk canopy and camera with a ziptie holding them down lmao, and i added an external receiver, so now my poor little moblite weighs in at 32grams without its battery lol! i think it was like 18 or something before, so shes a bit overloaded, i put 3 blade props on and its a little better, but yeah 2 things it really dont like doing now its this heavy, 1 is power loops, because it had no power for its weight lmfao, and 2 is pulling out of a steep decent, but atleast i have something to fly while im waiting for parts for my crux35, and because of the new year ill probably be waiting a while with australian postal service, i sent stuff with express post a week ago and its still not here lol, so all i have is the mobheavy franken whoop

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ah, yeah smart audio doesnt actually set anything on the VTX that gets retained. It more or less just overrides what the VTX thinks it should be doing every time the quad starts. That is one chunky moblite, but hey fly what you have and get that stick time in any way you can! I think all whoops struggle with the bottom of power loops and dives unless they were built with super high KV motors...or at least that has been my experience with them. Personally I prefer my whooping on 2S just because it doesn't tend to have those problems :) Maybe the Aus postal service will come through for you and get that crux back in the air....also it sounds like express isn't very express, lol.

    • @christhorney
      @christhorney 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BaconNinjaFPV the happymodel ovx303 vtx that came with the crux relys on smart audio for the frequency table so without it, it has no fallback, it really sucks, buy yeah lol its one chunky monkey, i had the mobula7 1s before i lost it in tall grass, that thing had a lot of grunt, so much fun to fly and a tank, i smashed it into so much metal at warp speed and only the canopy had some cracks the frame was super sturdy, so much faster than this current frankenwhoop but still i can fly it around basically flat out near maxed camera angle and it does it, it just has 0 in reserve if you need to quickly pull up and away but it also doesnt like the 650mah batteries now it much prefers the 450 lol still heaps of fun and stick time thats the most important part

      honestly, and I know it is an over used answer, but it really is just stick time. You will absolutely be timid with it at first, but the more you do it the more natural it feels. Just put in as many packs as you can and try to not feel discouraged by the process of getting used to it!

    @deice3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really like doing full-on **power**loops in the sim, maintaining near max throttle all the way. But that needs a fairly big obstacle, and I don't have the balls to try it in real life, because failing means crashing into the ground blind at full throttle 💥

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      lol, nothing better than finding the ground right at the bottom of one of those bad bois! I will say, in real life your pack will sag well before you could really complete one at full pull over a big obstacle though. Sims are great, but pack sag is just not something they are good at, lol. Even that loop I did over the tree line had pack sag about half way through the top portion.

    So funny, all the people out there stubbornly resistant to trying 4x3 mode on 4x3 sensor FPV camera. They somehow think 16x9 will be a good setting for Freestyle FPV with Power loops, various Tricks, etc. I have seen people instantly level up their flying and stop crashing so much when they switched to actual real 4x3. This one topic needs a video for itself.

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So true! Using 16x9 really does limit a pilot's potential for anything outside of the cinematic realm. I have been flying it for the past couple of weeks purely for testing the O3 system....but I am kind of sick of it, lol. I miss having all of those extra pixels above and below, as well as not having to move my eyes to the sides of the screen to see everything. I may cover this on its own at some point because I think you are right, there are some pilots out there who don't really know the limitations.
