When the bbc had the best in the business in so many sports , with no ego no personal agenda , presented as a fellow fan watching it with you! Golden era!
I used to love watching David Vine present Ski Sunday, he was a top presenter and commentator , in the days when the BBC were the best in the business.
One of THE voices of snooker, together with commentators Clive Everton, Ted Lowe, John Virgo and of course all later ones. Fond memories of the broadcasts of the 80s and early 90s (when I still had time to watch), thank you David for all you've done for the sport.
Yeah one of the great voices of sport!! Superstars Snooker and skiing Loved through the 80s and the embassy worlds his voice with Ted Lowe made it! I was a teen waiting for Jimmy to win the title!!! RIP David!
David was a massive part of Snooker's success in the 80s and 90s. Legend.

I couldn't agree more. I seem to remember him doing the weightlifting at the Olympics too!
Yes, you've just reminded me, Superstars, I can hear the theme music.
Great man David vine & great memories of the world championship in the 80s. Very professional R.i.P David
He was the best.
Sorely missed the kind gentlemanly uncle david vine
This video could have been 10 times longer and still be interesting.
I expect there was a lot they couldn't put on TV as well!
bit cheeky of vine to cite the 147 by cliff without mentioning that it was steve who actually made the first televised 147
I was thinking that myself.
Bit cheeky he didn't mention the GREAT John Spencer making what would have been the first televised 147 if not for the tv crew being on a tea break.
@@da_great_mogul yeah, just bad luck that, considering he was on the receving end from steve for the first official 147
The 1st at the crucible was special in all fairness.
Brilliant stuff. The best ever on the snooker, sorry hazel 😢
Yes, he was the absolute master at what he did.
Yes. David Vine is probably the greatest all round sports presenter we have had. Harry Carpenter is up there with him.
Just brilliant
Blimey that was filmed in 2000, so long ago now b
As great as Griffiths achievements in 79, I don't see him winning it if he had to face Reardon.
Griffiths said the same thing himself.
the boss
David Taylor
He died in 2009
