I've been a sci-fi fan all my life (TRON included) and to be honest, this trailer has more adrenaline than the movie itself... it is by far the best fan made trailer I have ever been... and agree wth other comments, makes you want to see the movie again!!! SPEECHLESS
I'm sitting here with my jaw hanging open. I've seen TRON more times than I can count, and have even watched it within the last month, but this has me wanting to watch it just one more time. This is brilliant. I can't praise it highly enough. You've done an absolutely masterful job here.

Now that's the movie I wanted to see in 1982. lol. For all it's dated looking graphics today, Tron had a WOW factor then... perhaps 1/4 of Star Wars 1977 WOW factor without the equivalent box office. When FX are brand new and never/rarely seen before, they are mind blowing. The movie trades more on back-lighting and matte painting, but it's early use of CGI is its Legacy (pun intended). Having a wide range of CGI examples when you are growing up creates a certain "null" factor I think. The appreciation is muted because there is always a constant comparison to what came before. Quaint now, perhaps. State of the art then, definitely. Thumb up ! .
This year (2022)is the 40th anniversary of the movie Tron. This is a good way of celebrating this wonderful movie. This is the first movie I bought on VHS and DVD. Well done for this trailer.

I cannot believe the job you did on this. If this trailer were around in 82' my Mother and I wouldn't have been the only ones in the theater. This is so good, I think they should briefly re-release the film before Legacy opens. Provided of course, they heavily screen this gem. Fantastic...absolutely fantastic.

Damned fine handiwork! I remember seeing a 70 mm print of TRON in 1982 and was mightily impressed with it back then. Let's remember, gang, 1982 was barely the dawn of the personal computer age back then, when rendering a single frame of digital content took a HUGE amount of time. Maybe the effects of 30 years ago don't hold up to current CGI, but for their day, they were utterly state of the art. And here I am, thinking of picking up TRON in Blu-Ray!
First movie I remember seeing. I was 5 yrs old! Sark sticks out in my mind first and foremost! Lots of guys I work with say Star Wars is what got them into visual effects and design. Almost been 20 years now doing this type of work and it was because I fell in love with this movie! Usually not a Disney guy but the colors were so vibrant and have always loved it. Funny picture I have. Coincidence only but my older brother took me to see it in our local theater and my mom took a photo of the two of us standing in front of the theater with the marquee above us saying, "TRON" Starting Today!

I remember watching TRON for the first time in July of '87 for my 7th birthday, and my older brothers were so into it. Dude this was really fantastic. The music and the editing really make it. This could honestly run in front of a film and be better than 75% of the trailers out there (which always give too much of the film away).
I was totally blown away w/ this trailer rendition of TRON! Not to knock down the other Disney animated films such as Toy Story 1 & 2 and so forth, but I saw this movie when it first came out in '82 when I was 7 years old, and although I didn't know what was going on I really like this film, and my generation who have seen this should have introduced this to the next generation of kids before those other Disney films! Awesome job; can't wait for the new Tron Legacy to come out!!!
31 years ago today, this film hit theaters. 10 years ago, the discredited sequel hit game stores. The first film got eaten by ET and Friday the 13th. The discredited sequel got eaten by Knights of the Old Republic and Final Fantasy X (and then given an Orwellian retcon by Disney when Legacy got green-lit).
Exceptionally well done. I'll be sharing this with my friends who never saw the original movie and can't figure out why I'm so geeked about Tron Legacy coming out. Kudos sir.
Really good... I've seen this movie a gazillion times since I was a kid. It's always on my top ten since as you mention there was nothing like it. But again you definitely got the effect of a modern trailer. Great selection of the scenes. Right from the start you get the feeling as if it was an official trailer. Keep it up!!!
@KieferJackson the first Clu was a data file search and retrieval program, designed to find Flynn's stolen game program files that listed Kevin Flynn as the programmer that created Space Paranoids and several other games, which Dillinger claimed he wrote and got a promotion at Encom from. Clu in Tron Legacy is basically a digital CLONE of Flynn himself, whose mandate was to "create a perfect system" i.e help to build the Grid to be perfect; "Clu 2.0" became an expert at the battle grid games.

If Disney were smart they would contact you personally, use this trailer 'as-is' or very very close and then spend about 6 months updating the soundtrack in movie/remastering etc etc in order to do a re-release just before the sequel in George Lucas 'star wars' style'. What's there to think about? I highly recommend both Tron films on Bluray, there are tons of extras, and the surround sound is very well done especially Legacy! On part 1, there's great behind the scenes of Tron's creator and his son visiting Disney archives and looking back at some very rare stuff.

The editor captured the essence of what Tron always was and forever should be. He actually made it better and then some.

Dude, this trailer is so epically awesome. I've been a fan of the original for years. You cannot see the new without seeing the original. Awesome redo, it really shows what a great movie the original is.

What's there to think about? I highly recommend both Tron films on Bluray, there are tons of extras, and the surround sound is very well done especially Legacy! On part 1, there's great behind the scenes of Tron's creator and his son visiting Disney archives and looking back at some very rare stuff.
Excellent job. I'm gonna show my kids this and maybe they will finally watch it with me. Can't wait for Legacy!

i seriously don't understand how people can either not watch the first movie of a franchise or watch the first one after they've seen the second, it totally kills the movie! (almost, tron is still awesome)
