He is a work in progress. But an excellent player compared to the meager standards of other countries. And he is a Survivor.

Savea is an excellent player, not a Captain. But for political reasons, he was appointed the Captain, for the tests against RSA.
An order that came down from Arden's advisors.
Being Captain, took away from his otherwise excellent game.

@@markblu9494 He was appointed captain because the players in the all blacks squad look up to him. Even more so than Sam Whitelock who is lucky to even be a starter these days. How can you say the best player in NZ, and arguably the world is a work in progress? Only logical answer I can think of is that you don’t like the colour of his skin. Only a mad man would say Ardie is a work in progress 🤦‍♂️

@@aranakenny6075 You are obviously educated in NZ, with a knee jerk, pitiful & working class Mindset - or maybe you are Drunk, or on Drugs. Emotional Incompetence is presented as such. Savea is a good player, not a great one. He is a poor thinker of the larger game & too impulsive to lead. As an All Black Flanker, we expect so much more, consistently. As it is, he will be replaced by Blackadder.
Apart from McCaw, one of the best Captains we ever had was Umaga & Whineray, especially Umaga. My most trumpeted player, Ma'a Nonu.
Does that mean I am now Anti-White?
      A Racist?
But for a Mexican* Minded Millenial like you, it's difficult for you to comprehend anything beyond 2006.
*in the USA its applied to those amongst us who lack Mature, Considered & Analytical Thought.
Is Savea a better player than I, maybe. I was a late starter & came to the USA to play & run track at 23. But I was Multi Talented & NZ while a great place to grow up, especially growing up as in proud Mangere East, the country as a whole has a disease called Small Thinker Syndrome.
Your comment is an Indictment on your Incompetence as a Thinker (your ability to write in English doesn't appear to be an excuse), an blow to your Culture & a slap on the face of Kiwis stuck back in NZ with their Blinkers on ...
