- I GOT THE CAR BACK! What caused the CEL? //BMW M240i
I finally got the car back and decided to make a VERY short update video to explain what the diagnosis for the CEL was. I'll leave it up to you guys to interpret what the dealership wrote out. All that matters is the car is driving like normal again and I'm stoked to have it back!

I’ve ben holding off on buying the Dinan tune until you found out what was wrong. Glad to hear it wasn’t something too serious. A bit worrying that the pressure sensor gave way so early into the cars life.

Did the dealer said anything about the DINAN tune you have on when you took your car to get the CEL light fixed?. Did you have to pay for the fix or did BMW honor the warranty still with the DINAN on?.

Hey Diggy, yes there are new concerns lol. I'm working on it and will post a vid the second I get some final answers on it. You may have better luck than I am having though, so pull the trigger if ya really want it!
Hey question. I have a 240i 6mt. When i shift from 1st to second around 5-6rpm without letting the rpm drop the gear grind but goes into gear. It only happens when i shift briskly from 1-2 but 3-6 i have no issues of shifting fast. Thanks in advance.
I think I know what you're talking about. You're not alone.. a lot of people get that on the 1-2 shift. Only thing I can say is you gotta watch the clutch release a little more to get a smoother shift. Oh well.

Are you planning to reinstall the tuning box ?
The ECU wasn't touched so the tune is still installed. It's back to how it was before all this drama lol

i need to build and order m240i by this week, but I cannot choose between AT and MT.
I had test drive both. practically i should choose AT. go to work and back to home traffic, fuel economy and AT is faster than MT and other things.
do you satisfy with your car?
I know you had a BRZ , and I had a FRS MT , and I had so many fun with FRS.
please give me some advice.
one more thing . just curiosity.does m240i faster than normal camaro and normal mustang?
Hey 5! You're exactly right with your observations. I personally test drove the AT only before I placed an order for a MT. With the AT, your acceleration is ~0.2s faster depending on human error with the MT. Fuel economy is also rated better on the AT and traffic jams are definitely easier to deal with in the AT as well. With all that said, I am VERY satisfied and have not regretted getting MT because it just feels so much more engaging and fun in my opinion. I do not mind that it's slightly slower, slightly lower fuel economy, and slightly less practical as a daily. It is worth all that to me because the differences are very minimal. I just know I would still love this car no matter what tranny I get it in. If you loved the FRS MT, you will absolutely love the M240i MT because it's all the FR-S is, but a ton more power. I believe the M240i is faster than both the regular Camaro and Mustang based on my research. Good luck with your decision. Let me know what you end up going with!
Shundel Thank you for giving me the exact answer I wanted in spite of my lack of English. It was hard to decide because most people recommended the ZF 8 Speed AT. If the power is added to the FRS MT, I think it is actually perfect. The only complaint I had while riding the FRS MT was the lack of power. Honestly, I still can not make a decision. But it is true that your answer has been a big help. I will decide, order, and write again. I'll come over often. Thank you so much!!
Shundel hey Shundel, I finally bought a new car! I tried build order but found a car I like. manual transmission , white, M performance kit (carbon spoiler, carbon mirror cap, m style exhaust side skirt, front splitter and diffuser) One thing I do not like is that the color is Alpine white rather than mineral white metalic. But it's okay. It's beautiful enough. I plan to buy the front plate kit on the weekend. I received car late today, so I drove for a while but I'm excited. Thanks for helping me choose!

Shundel haha. Yeah if you can. Black plate with white letters and numbers and then put it in the middle. I can't get use to seeing it to the side. But hey. It's you're car dude. Can't wait to get mine in a few months. Keep up the good work :)
That sounds sweet but I don't think I have the option to have that made and be legal lol. I'd also prefer it in the middle but can't bring myself to drill the bumper or using a ghetto method to mount it. Let me know when you get yours!
Shundel haha fair enough. I live in Australia you can get alot of different colour plates and variations if you want. Thought maybe it was a global thing. I'll let ya know when I get it
