Jaguar E Type Series II Rebuild - 2023-03-26 Painted Hood Assembly

Big day today - Nick the "Magician" came over and we assembled the painted parts onto the hood.
The assembly went smoothly with no paint damage or issues. The end result is exactly what we had been hoping working for. The underneath surface of the hood looks as good as the top surface and will look amazing when the hood is opened.
Big thank you to Nick who put endless hours into the hood repair and to Chris, the painter, who created a fantastic end result. The end result is all in the preparation and the time invested has paid off.
Musi today is "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zepplin. I discovered Led Zepplin a little later in my life but their music is timeless, just like an E Type.

That looks so good and all the prep has been worth it for that result!
I’ve just finished the inside of mine with a final coat of epoxy prior to reassembly. Now comes the tricky bit of doing the final paint with it all assembled so that all the hardware is also painted. I have a question for Nick. How do you get a decent coat of paint to the insides of the air tubes? When I primed them I used a small roller, but I can’t do that with the final coats of direct gloss Old English White. 😬

I normally watch films at high speed but had to go back to standard if you are playing Zep : )

The bonnet was completely rebuilt due to the amount of damage and repair needed.
