Composed mainly by Susumu Hirasawa and Cause I’m not theneedledrop I'm just a dude who likes anime and music this isn’t a berserk 97 soundtrack review but more just a fun breakdown of each song and how their used in the anime to make the anime even better. The Guts Theme is synonymous with the struggles of life and by extension life itself. The score has just as much range as life does with all of its ups and downs

I think my favorite use of Behelit is during Gut's rampage immediately after they rescue Griffith. The fact that they used that song for that moment made it felt like someone having a mental breakdown rather than just another exciting action scene. It makes Gut's reaction to Griffith's state feel incredibly dark, like all that carnage isn't something to be celebrated. It's genuinely haunting, I fucking love it

Your reflection on Behelit being used in every major stage of our cast heading toward the Eclipse is actually pretty profound and accurate. I always got this "something isn't right" type of feeling anytime it came on. Like a moment to stop and ask "Are we heading in the right direction? What am I doing here?" It being used as a funnel into and reflection of the Elcipse in retrospect is awesome. Truly great stuff.

Susumu Hirasawa is a master of his craft imo, the soundscapes he creates are so ethereal and his voice compliments perfectly. Please check out his album Technique of Relief(1998), every song is so good. If you like that; Siren (1996), Sim City (1995), Aurora (1994), Blue Limbo (2003), Philosopher's Propeller (2000) and even his most recent one Beacon (2021) are all fucking amazing.

Guts theme is sound of finding my place in this world.
It's the sound of feeling lost, not in sadness but in an introspective mood.
If curling into a ball in a dark room with the door slightly cracked open was a soundtrack. It's the guts theme..

I didn't really get why it was the ending music, I thought it didn't fit for the most of the show. But when that shit hit after the final episode I finally understood it. This show was made with a lot of forethought and only gets better the more you think about it.

-behilit is like a bad omen thatst inevitable but relaxing like giving in to some sort of hallucination mixed with reality it captures the intro of the 97 anime perfectly the song is also named after a devil which makes it creepy but its still slow making the danger seem somewhat distant all while keeping the medieval tone.. the mood of many themes in berserk like causailty and fate are captured with behilit
-earth is very relaxing and chilled and has avery medival tone it gives the vibe of a vast world and nature filled with unknown mysteries and opportunities it captures the journey of guts in the moments of meditation he has in between the hardships its also a main example why the 2017 anime missed the ambiance of berserk with the ecpeption of "beacon of fire"
-fear+monster+murder+ghost the brutality and horror and gore and mercilessness of berserk are all mixing the gritiness of the real world and its unrevaersable consequences with the otherworldly powers in my opinion its a mix between the movies hellraiser and lord of the rings
-forces is the heat of the action the original track is somewhat military in its tone it gets the 90s action music check which is necissary to every anime masterpiece in my book
the remixes in the videogames are very good plus other gems which i wont go deep
-guts it speaks for itself its the human side of guts and tragedy of his story and struggle it probably needs its own comment to analys.

If we ever get another Berserk adaptation, i think the dreamcast game should be adapted, plus the newer scenes exclusive to the ps2 game(maybe as part of an ova?, I think we can make them work fluently in the story). And that includes it's music. They should pick all the berserk music that Hirasawa has made throughout the series, and rearrange it for the new adaptation(when they arrive to the golden age ark, leave things the same), plus pick various, if not all the music of the movie adaptations for other parts of the new adaptation, i think that, specially the guitar riff of the last movie should stay. And leave the newer music for the newer parts, or make a callback of the past adaptations using the oldies from time to time. I think this adaptation should be special, and that this is the way to do it

God, man, this is so good. One of the soundtracks I can legit hear in my dreams. I`m really really looking forward to you analyzing more OSTs!! Personally, some IMO hugely underrated masterpieces that nobody ever seems to talk about are a) the OST for the original Hellsing series (dark jazz funk neoclassic gothic?), which is literally the main reason I cannot warm up to Hellsing Ultimate (which opted for a more generic horror ambient sound), and b) one of my personal hidden gems, Last Exile... just like, listen to the opening (titled Cloud Age Symphony) and you`ll know what I mean.
LIke yeah, sure, I`d also love to hear more about Champloo or Bebop, but honestly my heart lies with the underdogs, the overlooked masterpieces. In the end though, I just hope you continue to talk about the stuff you love - that`s why I subscribed to you, that`s what I love about your content. Keep doing you, man!
