It appears that you edge upwind a bit too much which prevents you from getting the board to release quickly. Try to put more mast-foot pressure by commit to your harness lines a bit more, and lowering your center of gravity while extending your front leg and bending your back leg. This should help your board pointing a bit more downwind. Keep at it! 👍
@@DILLIGAF-e4rI know! I’ve been there not long ago. You’ll likely get a few catapults along the way, but there’s no other ways to learn and get the feel for it. You are riding very well with good speed. If I may suggest, your next thing is saving yourself some energy to extend you time on the water by building a bit of efficiency with earlier takeoffs and consistent dry jibes. Doesn’t need to be planing jibes at first but avoiding rounds in the drink is a huge skill threshold that will reward you ten folds! Looking forward to seeing your next videos!
Looking good🎉 If you can go barefeet it can't be cold and you don't need the gloves tiring arms more than without. Skin will heal and won't get as bad as maybe at first when starting out. The inside skin of palms will adapt when surfing more and it seems you do. 🤙🏻 Try openpalm mittens on the colder days. They are ok until it gets cold for real and then have to think about other options... Paddings on elbows&knees, maybe helps when climbing on board and don't go through like it could without or if falling with a sharp knee or elbow in a catapult hitting the nose. Happened sometime but I got lucky and no damages. Best to be careflul with the fragile boards nowdays and the body as we only have one. I always think when climbing myself to not put sharp elbows & knees through the deck.😅 In winter time on ice we use more protective gear and a helmet year round. Greetings from the arctic, Finland, will be a while before blasting on soft water again...🥶
@@johanasplund5292 Great to hear from Arctic Finland! The english channel water temp is mild year round and I'm try to resist putting boots on as long as possible (or at least while kiters are still going barefoot!). The air temp can drop to 1-2° though and then I really need gloves, even if feet aren't hurting. The elbow/knee gear is mainly because they are cheaper than getting a new wetsuit where I've worn holes in climbing on to uphaul🤦♂️. Hope yr getting to ice windsurf over winter?! I follow the CraterSurfers and Mostlysurfing (both Finnish); looks fun and I may bring the whole family up there next winter... using 'Lapland For Xmas' as an excuse... 🇫🇮🤙🇬🇧

Looks like you were getting some good speed on starboard tack in towards the windsock.
