Recently added your Dual battery kit to my 2020 Toyota 4 Runner and it has worked flawlessly! Excellent Product. My question is do you have a recommendation for a lithium ion battery that will fit properly ...group 25 i believe?
On my 2021 Gladiator Rubicon 3.6L since I'm not driving it enough during Covid & working from home It runs out the auxiliary start stop battery and nothing works & you can't jump that battery & will probably need replaced again. I've never heard of new batteries that won't take a charge and need replaced until purchasing this JTR. Does one of the dual batteries in the Genesis system work the start stop functionality or is it just disabled? I'm one of the few that like the Start / Stop system.
Great video. Just wondering how long from dead would it take to charge up the auxiliary battery in the jl while driving? Looking to just run a dometic fridge 24/7 with maybe 2 days at a time stationary. Thanks
Note if you have an Gen 2 system and are upgrading using Optima's the Gen 3 won't fit. It's listed in one of the sections on the site but not on "installation, battery fitment or FAQ", so its a bit confusing. Would have been good to know I was on the hook for another $750 in batteries before purchasing.
Is it possible to get longer cables to make batteries with switched poles fit? I ordered the Genesis system, but in Germany it's not possible to get the Full River or Odyssey batteries...
Hi Rob, you can use any brand of battery that is available in your area, it just needs to be the correct size to fit into our tray. For our Jeep JK, Tacoma, and universal kits, the US size is called a Group 34, which is 26 x 17.3 x 20 cm. For our Jeep JL, Gladiator, Tundra, FJ Cruiser, and 4Runner kits, the US size is a Group 25, which is 23 x 17.5 x 22.5 cm. Stick to those dimensions, and also make sure the positive and negative posts are in the correct orientation for our wires to line up, and you'll be fine. Check out Varta, their batteries are popular with our European customers. Hope this helps! -Shane
@@GenesisOffroad Thank you very much. I ordered and received the Kit for the JL. I rebuild it to make Varta batteries with wrong poles fit. I use the varta dual purpose AGM batteries. Everything works fine, but it would be nice to get some custom cables from you if its possible.
I am from Malaysia, we use RHD vehicles here, my Jeep is Wrangler 2012, CRD Diesel 2.8 What is the Genesis dual battery kit that suits my car best? I will be using the Optima Yellow Top Group 34 batteries. I am running radio communication equipment and a ARB freezer. Thanks.
We do make a RHD kit for the gas engine JK, but unfortunately the RHD diesel just has too much in the way to fit dual batteries under the hood. You could use one of our universal kits though. If you have a spot somewhere else, like the rear cargo area or even under the vehicle, you could mount our universal single battery kit. It has all the same features as our JK kit, just squished down to fit on top of one battery. Once you securely mount that battery tray, you'll run a power and ground wire back to the cranking battery under the hood to tie it into our system. You can see more about these options on our website here - www.genesisoffroad.com/Universal_c_27.html
I used this in my Cherokee and it worked amazing rear mounted acc battery for on board air and lights 🤘🏽

Odyssey 25-PC1400T is this battery usable being that post are on the opposite side I believe?
The 25-PC1400T is compatible with our dual battery kits for the JL/JT, Tundra, and 4Runner.
Great information Shane.
Thank you!

Thank you for the feedback John, we will add this to the fitment details on our website.
Can you shoehorn in a group 24 in the JK without it bumping into the hood?
No. The Group 24 is almost a full inch taller than a Group 34, so you wouldn't be able to close the hood.
Do you have a recommendation for a battery for the JL dual battery system in Australia? Odyssey and Full River are hard to come by here.
We do not currently offer a dual battery kit for the right hand drive version JL. We do have a RHD kit for the earlier JK models though.

Can you mix the crank battery with a LiFePo?
No. You shouldn't mix battery types when they are connected in parallel like with our system. Doing so will reduce the lifespan of both batteries.

@genesis offroad which option is better for your dual battery setup? odyssey or optima?
Odyssey. The Optima has considerably less cold cranking amps and also less capacity due to its spiral design.
jl diesel ?
Here's a quick video about our plans for the diesel JL - th-cam.com/video/tRe2Mjps0sg/w-d-xo.html
