Honestly, I'm only 20 so it's not nostalgia speaking : the 70's show is awesome. Definitly the best Banner to date, an awesome and touching origin story, you see he really struggles with his condition, searchs for a cure in every episode and still find a way to help others before helping himself, as a result he transforms and has to leave everyone he loves, always. He's lonely and cursed. Plus, the fact he's small and the era makes it believable for him to move through the US, from city to city and... And they picked THIS extract 🤦♂️

They did not have the tech, so yes he was indeed painted. But (IMO) still a fantastic show. They showed some terrible clips on the page though. Season 1/2 are the best if you want to get a feel of how he looked.
The guy was Lou Ferrigno who portrayed the original and in my opinion the best Hulk!! Bill Bixby was, in my opinion, the best Banner. I'm partial to originals.

Lou is and always was bigger than Arnold. In fact, Arnold was not big enough to be the Hulk (tv show). That is why Louie got the job. Now, Arnold was still huge, his arms and chest were among the best/biggest ever. And he definitely deserved those Olympia titles in the 70s... But at 6'2 compared to 6'5, big difference. Also, they showed terrible Hulk show clips. They needed to show seasons 1 and 2 so you could get a better idea of the tv show Hulk's size. Watch the Pilot episode, Final Round, (most of seasons 1/2) to get a better idea of how the Hulk looked (IMO his best "Hulk look"). Have a great day!

In my opinion, The Incredible Hulk Returns is the best 1978-1990 Hulk has ever looked. He looks so aggressive and scary(as Hulk should) and I think it looks weird to see that one with a calm expression. I was so weirded out when I saw that one with a normal expression. I also think he sounds the best too, it was a drastic and excellent improvement for Charles Napier's vocal effects. He was pretty good in the show(I found Ted Cassidy better) but in that film he did really great. Hulk just sounds more aggressive in that movie than the show or the next two.
Yeah Hulk in the old movies looked really scary, I would say that he is actually the only hulk that looks terrifying, despite him not being 8ft tall and exactly like the comic book hulk, the menacing factor makes up for it a lot, and also how much more muscle lou gained for the films. My second favorite is the 2003 hulk, I liked how they showed deep phycological trauma stemming from an abusive upbringing. I think it showed the emotion much like the comics, while at the same time making hulk feel like real anger but still have some of bruce's self control and humanity. But I would say that I liked lou's hulk more because it's a classic and I like how menacing he looks as well as the stories in the show.

I can see the charm in old movies without CGI, actors really got to train buff and jump off buildings etc
