Before Edward Van Halen, it was more common to do the right hand tapping style using the pick to hit the strings, rather than the fingertips. You can see Rory do that about 8'45" in.
The man who made Brian May go out and buy a treble booster. The man who taught Alec Lifeson about "pick harmonics". Such a great artist taken to soon in life. He died at 47 after having a liver transplant. Like all the greats, taken to soon in life. I would suggest his songs, IN YOUR TOWN, LAUNDROMAT, BAD PENNY, TORE DOWN and A MILLION MILES AWAY.
