Great find and video. The ATS cookie cutter wheels were introduced in 1972 alongside the Fuchs, so they should be period correct. But please take away the Turbo wing, that’s just a disgrace.
Yeah, I'd be popping that whale tail for several reasons. If Mario had wanted to keep it (apparently not but...) I'd still want to get any crud underneath it out of there seeing as how something is seeping out.
I had a 87 targa with the Turbo wider body and rear wing. It was one of fifteen made by Porsche that year for the US market, so like it or hate it, it was period correct. Not the greatest Porsche ever made and definitely not the quickest, but they did build it that way
The carpet cleaning process of hanging them is by far the most satisfying of any process shown on TH-cam! Great job on the overall rejuvenation of this beautiful Porsche! 👍🏼👍🏼🙌🏼
As for the odometer it would kinda depend of it has a 5 digit or 6 digit odometer. if it has a 5 digit I would almost guarantee it has rolled over. The paint was in terrible shape. And if it was in an accident more than likely it would've been Porsche to fix it and would've color matched it. And although these cars are collectors now the ppl that bought them back then were usually executives and the drove them every day
Its not low miles. That odometer was definitely rolled over at 100k miles. Just by looking at the condition of the outside of the car I could tell its 126K miles. Even the driver side seat had a rip in it and the driver side floor mat was worn down to the bare fibers. Not sure why they're acting like the interior is in pristine condition Lol. Tracking down the Title of the car would solve this mystery. But you can tell by just looking at the car its been driven way more than 26K miles.
These are Cookie Cutter Wheels, in Germany we call them "Hackmesser Felgen". Here they´r kinda rare, most early 911 models driving around in Germany are on Fuchs wheels.
See that little circle in the bodywork in front of the rear arches? That is for taking out the torsion bar from the axle incase you want to replace it or lower the car. Seeing that little panel still being there probably means those quarters are original!
Exceptional find! Pretty clean original car. Those "Cookie Cutter" style wheels aren't nearly as popular as others, but they still fit the car very nicely.
Finding a Porsche 356 would be my ultimate find. I am a Porsche lover and finding a 356 would be amazing. I would def want you guys make it beautiful again.
What a good job they do with the bodywork and interiors,... but... this time they didn't clean the area of the engine and the front trunk. which in these cars are also to see how they clean it. Greetings from the southeast of Mexico.
I bought over 2 dozen long hood 911's in the mid 2,000's when they were around $6k to $12k depending. All the cars from 1965 to 1969 had lots of rust. The 1970's to 1973.5 were better. All the cars were either regular 911's or 911T's, the E's and S's were hard to find and most of the E's and S's no longer had fuel injection, owners switched to carbs as setting up the FI was a real pain and if it was too rich gasoline got in the oil and spun the engine bearings, not good. I sold them all to Europe because they had laws that greatly reduced the import tax on any car that was over 25 years old and the Euro got up to over 1.70 to the dollar, they were shoving several in one container and shipping them to Rotterdam. VERY popular cars at the time. Now the most normal 911T like this bar find will be will over $30k if not more, too much for me.
My dream barn find would either be a Countach or a Barracuda, I'd be happy with either but the Coutach would be by far the favorite for me...also a c3 Corvette would be hella cool find
I'd love to find my 1988 Pontiac Firebird special edition. I loved that car. Hubby made me sell it when we had twins. should have sold the kids and keep the car.......
My absolute dream barn find would be a Lancia Delta Integrale Evo2. I'd like to think that there's one waiting behind a farm house somewhere in Italy, but they're extremely rare so I highly doubt it :( Excellent job guys, congratulations! Let's hope this car will get the attention it deserves.
There was 3 where I grew up and all absolute minters.. One white one yellow and a red one.. one of my favourite cars of all time too.. way more impressive in person
Targa's are the most fun but in the winter they are very cold and they leak in the rain, just a pain to drive daily. The heat in 911's was terrible when new, in an old car it is a suicide carbon monoxide machine.
amazing job, beautiful car ... a real overhaul will do wonders to this beauty. the gaps in hood, door, etc is really bothering me. plus the insides could really use an upgrade I'm sure
I own a 73 911T Targa, I bought new - all original has 45,000 miles. Loved the vid. That spoiler had to go! Someone already mentioned the wheels. I drive mine only in good weather, originally a California car, now in low humidity NM.
Great job 👏. Interior came up so well. As far as barn find I would love a 3rd gen Honda Prelude manual . I have always wanted one and they are rare now. When I was a kid it was my dream car and I love the shape and the pop up lights.
My barnfind would be my 1967 Lincoln Continental Coupe, celery green, jade green leather interior. I bought the car in 1994 from a repair shop in Chehalis, WA., then drove it to Chicago-three, 700 mile legs with no radio, frozen power driver seat set to someone 5'2". I'm 6'1". But if I could have that car in mint condition...loved that thing.
That snowfoam didn't shift much at all- you should seriously up your game a try Bilt Hamber Touch-less snow foam you can thank me later 😉. I use it with touch- on for a less contact on the paintwork. It really works extremely well for me!
The early years of air cooled 911s, most to all of the car was painted in the color if left the factory in. If you were to check under the carpet next to the seat, it should show the original color. Most people don't paint this during re-sprays of a paint job. Just what I have found over the years and being involved in early Porsche restorations!
Inconsistent paint thickness suggests that it was lashed up on the cheap at some point, probably in the 1990s when the late wheels and whale tail went on it to update it. My barn find? Hemi Charger even though it would be useless on the roads in Britain.
If I was so incredibly lucky to actually experience that barn find scenario, and that barn door opened to either a British Racing Green Toyota 2000GT, or a British Racing Green Jaguar E-Type staring back at me… I think my brain would melt
I'm thinking the odometer has rolled over. The owner had lots of fun with it, including the bumps and bruises and probably decided it wasn't worth much with 130k miles on it and parked it. Multiple attempts at restoring the paint may explain the unevenness of what's left of the paint.
My dream car is a Chevy Malibu from the 1980's it was black and silver with a pinstripe down the middle. I loved that car growing up, Lots of childhood memories,
Great job on the 911 Targa! Ultimate barn find for me would be a 1963 split window Corvette. Rare as hens teeth these days, but that would be a cool find!
The wheels are called "cookie cutter" wheels and came at a significant premium over the Fuchs but the dealers often ordered the T's with a lot of bling to raise their price and you had no choice unless you were willing to order one from the factory through the dealer or pick one up directly in Germany.
Hey, my ultimate dream car barn find would be a Lamborghini Contach 5000S, in decent shape, maybe red, white, yellow, or black with everything there to get it up an running.
I drove a 1976 Triumph TR7 for almost 10 years and I know BM was not the best in car manufacturing but like a lot of cars made in Europe the standards were not always the best. The paint on my TR7 was not done well and within a year the paint job was failing. You have to remember this was before computers and and most often these cars were hand painted. Just my thoughts and experience with owning an import from the 1970s. Good luck with the 911 it's still a beautiful classy car and you did it justice by bringing it back to its former glory.
Considering I am not exactly mechanically inclined and had to do the work myself, I would love to find a Land Cruiser 70. It's practically guaranteed to run with minimal effort, and all that would be left is cleaning it up, and making it into the ultimate safari cruiser.
according to the cheap repaintings, and as a professional vintage car seller, i think the odometer doesnt show the real milage, otherwise they would have spent more money into the paint corrections / repaintings, due to the higher value of a low milage car, even in former times, bodyrepairs had alot minor quality compared to today. thats my guess.
Was just browsing on TH-cam and this video came in suggestions list. Good that I watched this video. Its truly Fantastic. Good detailing and nice presentation. That’s an absolutely stunning video. Good creative work and great editing skills. Truly this video is very informative and eye-catching. Looking forward for many more such good videos from you. Good luck and God Bless for your future, life and career.
By calendar 1972 or 1973, much of the body rust issues had been addressed, the bodies were dipped at the factory, 911's up to about 1970 were VERY prone to rust.
Goodnight! I Live in Brazil, São Paulo, I have VW 1300, year 75, I am The third order. I am passionais about Porsche . They border on perfection, if I are milionaire, this is the one thar wold go to my garage. I loved your work, I hope the owner preserves this originality. Thank you.
How did you guys like the NEW Fun Facts we’re introducing into our videos?! We thought you might enjoy it!
Dont forget to like & subscribe :)
Good
You guys do amazing work!
Maybe leave them up a bit longer please
Where are you guys located?
I hate your funny tips. Too fast for me.
Great find and video. The ATS cookie cutter wheels were introduced in 1972 alongside the Fuchs, so they should be period correct. But please take away the Turbo wing, that’s just a disgrace.
They took the wing off and put the original grille back on first thing!
Yeah, I'd be popping that whale tail for several reasons. If Mario had wanted to keep it (apparently not but...) I'd still want to get any crud underneath it out of there seeing as how something is seeping out.
Too bad the previous owner’s poor choice of adding a spoiler (and do it cheaply) appears to have led to rust.
I had a 87 targa with the Turbo wider body and rear wing. It was one of fifteen made by Porsche that year for the US market, so like it or hate it, it was period correct. Not the greatest Porsche ever made and definitely not the quickest, but they did build it that way
It's not period correct, it's not racer. If it were on a later Carrera turbo it's be great
The carpet cleaning process of hanging them is by far the most satisfying of any process shown on TH-cam! Great job on the overall rejuvenation of this beautiful Porsche! 👍🏼👍🏼🙌🏼
Odometer definitely rolled over. Floor mats don't look like that under 30k. And tbh it was in pretty rough shape
The 'others' being Fuchs 🤙
Actually on the pre-Carrera models they are my favorite hands-down.
If I won the lottery and I could have my dream car… hands down, 79’ Ford Bronco… I’ve always LOVED that year and body style!
To bad you didn't remove the spoiler and clean under it 😐
My dream barn find would be 72 Oldsmobile Tornado
Finding a Porsche 356 would be my ultimate find. I am a Porsche lover and finding a 356 would be amazing.
I would def want you guys make it beautiful again.
My dream car would be a Ferrari 288 GTO or a 69 Chevy Camaro Z 28 Or even a Ferrari testarossa would be pretty cool to find too.
Great job as always fellas!! We will get her back on the road in no time!! ✊🏼
Sell me a dame car lol 😂🙌 for real
@@jesussavescars807 haha we can make it happen!!

NISSAN 280ZX , my dad had it, it was his first car and itts my dream to get him in that car one more time. He loved it
Targa top looks unused never removed. Nice. But seals on the interior front of targa top usually leak under pressure. I had 79 Targa, loved it.
Dream car: '67 911 Coupe! 🤩
My dream barn find would either be a Countach or a Barracuda, I'd be happy with either but the Coutach would be by far the favorite for me...also a c3 Corvette would be hella cool find
Great job
I love that purple rust remover 😍, satisfying as always. Love the fun facts :)
hi sweetie 😘
I'd love to find my 1988 Pontiac Firebird special edition. I loved that car. Hubby made me sell it when we had twins. should have sold the kids and keep the car.......
My absolute dream barn find would be a Lancia Delta Integrale Evo2. I'd like to think that there's one waiting behind a farm house somewhere in Italy, but they're extremely rare so I highly doubt it :(

My neighbor has one- near Milano, it’s so cool
나 또한 의심스럽다.
Ultimate barn find for me would be a 1970 chevelle ss 454. Green with white stripes.
The targa is an amazing find. I like the targa's the most, and admittedly '73 is looking pretty good 👍
Targa's are the most fun but in the winter they are very cold and they leak in the rain, just a pain to drive daily. The heat in 911's was terrible when new, in an old car it is a suicide carbon monoxide machine.
Abandoned barns and warehouses will give you the biggest surprise, but also let you learn the maintenance experience
A Datsun 240z would be my dream barn find.
My dream car would be a 240Z. My dad had one when I was little and I’ve loved them ever since.
amazing job, beautiful car ... a real overhaul will do wonders to this beauty. the gaps in hood, door, etc is really bothering me. plus the insides could really use an upgrade I'm sure
356 B for me - ps the spoiler ruins this car!
Don't know too much about cars but I truly love watching car detailing vids like this ❤🔥
Love the classic lines of the Porsche. Only one thing that ruins it and that is the whale tail rear wing. I’ve the Channel cheers from 🇦🇺
Judging by the wear on the driver's floor mat, definitely going to say odometers been clocked over, don't get that much wear with only 25k miles.
*AAAAAGGHHH* Who treats a Porsche like this? Great job restoring her and allowing her the dignity she deserves!😊
300sL gullwing allday!! Such a transformation tho! Good job guys!!
My dream car fund would be a tucker torpedo. I've always wanted one for as long as I can remember.
Carpets and interior look like they’ve seen a lot more ‘combat hours’ than you’d see on a car with only 26k on the clock
I own a 73 911T Targa, I bought new - all original has 45,000 miles. Loved the vid. That spoiler had to go! Someone already mentioned the wheels. I drive mine only in good weather, originally a California car, now in low humidity NM.

My ultimate barn find would be a 1973 Ferrari Daytona Spyder Convertible. 😎😎
Keep these types of videos coming
If we could keep finding these cars, we would 😂
I used to own a euro spec 1967 911. I sold it back in the eighties and regretted selling it the next day. This is a great find.
my dream car.......69-71 Hurst Olds 442. !!! Love the Porsche.........I had a 911s 1979........great car !!!
Hi from belgium! Love the videos, especially the porsches. My dream car to find is a ferrari f40, would love to detail it and clean it!
My barnfind would be my 1967 Lincoln Continental Coupe, celery green, jade green leather interior. Fantastic job, this vehicle needs a full respray and bodywork rust treatment. Great video 👍🇬🇧
Barn find wish list:
Chrome bumper DeTomaso Pantera
Sunbeam Alpine 260 v8
Any Cobra
240 Z
550 spyder
My ultimate dream car to find in a barn would be a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T
oh yes! go MOPAR!
The early years of air cooled 911s, most to all of the car was painted in the color if left the factory in. If you were to check under the carpet next to the seat, it should show the original color. Hi WD Detailing I love your channel and I love all of your car detailing videos and I love all of your car transformations:)
My perfect barn find would be a 1992 Ford Escort GT. Hardly any of them left and they are super fun. My father had one when I was a kid.
Makes you wonder why such a low mileage car had such a “shitty” paint job.🤔
1957 Chevy Belair two-door convertible
We actually did a video on a 57’ 2 door bel air! Just wasn’t a convertible. Go back 5 or 6 videos to check it out!
Inconsistent paint thickness suggests that it was lashed up on the cheap at some point, probably in the 1990s when the late wheels and whale tail went on it to update it.
My barn find? Hemi Charger even though it would be useless on the roads in Britain.
good choice but I maybe a little prejudice as I am a die hard MOPAR lover as I have owned more than a dozen of them.
1974 Ford Pinto Wagon. 4 Cyl Automatic. Probably the best vehicle ever produced. Fast, excellent handing, large towing capacity!
This channel is genuinely satisfying to watch ☺️
Thank you 😇
If I was so incredibly lucky to actually experience that barn find scenario, and that barn door opened to either a British Racing Green Toyota 2000GT, or a British Racing Green Jaguar E-Type staring back at me… I think my brain would melt
Great job guys and greetings from the UK just subscribed my barn find would be a Ferrari Dino
It's a 911. It's Targa. Only needs a good restoration job. It's a jewel. Must work on the road for our fun 💪💪
I'm thinking the odometer has rolled over. The owner had lots of fun with it, including the bumps and bruises and probably decided it wasn't worth much with 130k miles on it and parked it. Multiple attempts at restoring the paint may explain the unevenness of what's left of the paint.
LP400S1 lowbody Countach is the dream barn find. It would be ludicrous money to get working again, but I'd love to see one in a neglected state.
What a nice find! Good job on the detail! Love these cars.
My dream car is a Chevy Malibu from the 1980's it was black and silver with a pinstripe down the middle. I loved that car growing up, Lots of childhood memories,
That paint on the bumper is good it protects the original paint if u take it off with a scrapper and reveal the old paint it looks good
Ultimate dream car find for me...96 Viper GTS blue/White stripes
Always nice to see someone bring back an old Porsche
Ultimate car!! The one on this
I actually acquired my dream car… not from a barn, but a farm. 1964 Barracuda like I had 25 years ago in high school. Currently restoring her now.
Porshe 911 have been my dream car since I was 10.
Great job on the 911 Targa! Ultimate barn find for me would be a 1963 split window Corvette. Rare as hens teeth these days, but that would be a cool find!
the ultimate dream car barn find would be a 1967 Chevy Camaro Black convertible top over a white body and black interior.. that would be perfect
Ok… my dream car find would be a 67 Camaro or a 55 Belair… That would go down as the greatest barn find of all time
The wheels are called "cookie cutter" wheels and came at a significant premium over the Fuchs but the dealers often ordered the T's with a lot of bling to raise their price and you had no choice unless you were willing to order one from the factory through the dealer or pick one up directly in Germany.
My dream car is actually a 2021 Ford Raptor I just love how spacious Ford trucks are plus I love to go off roading
I would’ve left that car in the barn ! The amount of rust, suspension and engine work would only be worth it if it were a dream car.
1970 Toyota 2000GT! 😍 Tell me if I'm crazy, but I'd love that one and I'll take everything I've got to get it back on the road!
Considering I am not exactly mechanically inclined and had to do the work myself, I would love to find a Land Cruiser 70.
It's practically guaranteed to run with minimal effort, and all that would be left is cleaning it up, and making it into the ultimate safari cruiser.
Use a magnet to find out what is metal and what is body filler
If I stumbled upon an abandoned barn, and found my dream car inside...it would be a 1987 Buick GNX
1963 Ferrari 250 GTO would be my barn find, but getting parts 🧐, probably not so easy.
Great video guys
according to the cheap repaintings, and as a professional vintage car seller, i think the odometer doesnt show the real milage, otherwise they would have spent more money into the paint corrections / repaintings, due to the higher value of a low milage car, even in former times, bodyrepairs had alot minor quality compared to today. thats my guess.
My absolute dream barnfind car would be the 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood
1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL alloy Gullwing coupe
That car just took a deep breath of relief!!
@WD Detailing: You guys are the REAL Transformers!
Best regards from Germany🙂
If I found my dream car in a barn it would either be a 1969 Dodge Charger, or a 1967 Pontiac GTO
My dream car barn find would be a Lamborghini Countach 😻😻😻

This car would be the CAR. I am 64 and have always loved this Model. Just subscribed. Thanks for detailing!! Makes me happy and a bit jealous!
I have a love for British car particularly Austin Healely fussy motors but beautiful body lines and spirited runner's.
