This is a re-production of Addicted with a complete story. I read the book and am so engraved with the car accident scene. That's probably the most heart-felt scene of this BL series to me.
Up to the point of the accident, I was hating Gu Hai, but he was totally redeemed and all was forgiven as he figured out what was happening. The English translation was breathtaking!

@SESEnpaiii Well, if you really want to know what happens, addicted is a novel as well. Someone on Wattpad was kind enough to translate it so you can read it over there. But to be frankly honest, I'm glad the series ended where it did, because reading the book and finding out what's next kinda ruined the story for me. There are quite a lot of trigger warnings for the book, but the series was an adaptation from the novel so reading that would probably be what would've happened in the series next.
The 15-episode version of Addiction is pure BL, so it was banned in China, but this new remake series, although the scriptwriter and director are still the original team in China, but the filming and broadcasting place is Taiwan, so it will still be pure BL. The author of this novel personally answered Chinese fans a few years ago that she would not randomly adapt her works, she would only shoot pure BL plots
Thank God, I'm about to drop this off my list since Chinese means bromance. I'm glad it's the other way around but I can't help but sighed that the OG Addicted cast are all good looking but still I think this series will give justice.

I'm so excited for this series. Addicted was kind of like the very first BL series that I watched. It brought me to this new world. I loved that show so much. I felt sad that it didn't have a proper ending. Now with this, I'm glad that this show is coming. It looks amazing. Shout-out to the whole team for creating this. Thank you for bringing this up.

Since we can't have Johnny and Tommy and it's been a long time, I'm moving on with this new cast and change of character names. This trailer shows powerful performances by these handsome actors. So yeah, I'm looking forward to this series regardless of the censored same sex relationship. Re-imagining their love story, I just like to get the gist of how their relationship developed since I don't have access to the novels that this is based on.
It's tough to look at this and try to stop yourself from comparing it to Addicted. Still I'm going to give this a try. Gu Hai and Bai Luo Yin... forever my favourites!
Actually i like this version more. Their chemistry is so Intense yet innocent and sweet. The problem is they do not release episodes daily. I am literally watching same episodes again and again.
For someone who read the novel the ending was the last scene in the novel of ADDICTED Book1! So after 7 years they finally had to remake the legendary BL series! What would be so crazy if season 2/ book 2 will be played by the original cast considering the age/ time skip, but that would be difficult and impossible Edit: a month later I'm loving this series!
Coming back here after ep 12 and I really like this serie, the trailer doesn't show the scenes in a chronological order so you'll undertand faster why the serie is great by watching it directly ♥ I'm thankful they remade Addicted after all these years, the actors are doing a great job and their chemistry is on point ♥

I just need a “From the creators of Addicted” to be alright again. Addicted literally broke our hearts, but it’s time to move on and I’m ready for this one to fix my heart again. The acting is just too good from this trailer alone. And I know this one will wreck us all 💔
I have seen the first 4 ep. and it was nostalgic. Gu Hai and Lou Yin will always be one of my fave of all time. And this new series did not disappoint. a few changes from the novel but forgivable. The new casts are awesome too. ❤❤❤❤
AHHHHH AFTER 7+ YEARS WE ARE FINALLY GETTING A REMAKE 🤘 the fact addicted ended on a cliff hanger was upsetting but I’m glad we’ll at least have some closure
I remember at that time, someone (i think its the one who acted as Yang Meng) said that after 8 years they will comeback with this series again. Eventhough the actors are not comeback but this series is like a promise (and gift) that the author give to us (surprisingly it's really 8 years of waiting😂). I want to say thanks for the author, actors, and every crew that make this series on air and thank you for keeping the promise. It's a really big gift for every "Heroin" fans. Eventhough i can't erase Guhai and Luoyin in my mind. But this series really recommend for "Heroin" die hard fans❤
The BL is subtle and hinted at off-screen but the bromance is lovely that I wanted to just nibble at it for episodes and episodes. The family plot was great and heart-warming honestly. I'm really happy with the plot and adaptation. At first I thought I wouldn't like the actors but their characters suited them and gave off a boyish charm while still pulling through the emotional scenes (I was quite impressed a few times)
Wu Bi and Su Yu Actors has their own very unique Perfect Chemistry. Their acting is also great. So many happy and sad scenes that really moved me. Still longing for S2. Please don't leave us hanging...

This is a GREAT SERIES...!!! I am up to episode 19 and it has been a memorable story. It is beyond my expectations. I am glad to see it. This is much more than just another BL.

Wow, it's so emotional to see my favorite book and series again. It makes me happy and sad at the same time. I'm happy because after all these years, we finally get the whole story and the beautiful moments for real. This story means so much to me, it's like something I'm really passionate about. Just watching the trailer made me cry all over again. But I'm also a bit sad because it's focused on the bromance . However, overall, I'm okay with it. Seeing the entire book come to life feels like a dream come true for me. Just watching the accident scene broke me in to tears
Haven't seen an episode of this remake, but i guess i appreciate that at least the fans of the original (Addicted) wasn't left hanging anymore (though still left heartbroken). Still, i feel like the original series remains irreplaceable when it comes on how intense sexual tension and intimate scenes between characters had been, plus the actors were so damn great playing their roles. This remake must be great too, but the level of greatness of the original already has its place in my heart's hall of fame.
Addicted is ingrained in my brain forever. The BL drama and the 2 novels I read day and night. I wished Johnny and Timmy would come back but they've moved on and it's okay. I'm excited for these young actors to portray the HaiLuoyin fantasy as YuBi
Even though we won't be getting the old cast and the original version back I'm very happy that we at least got a continuation of the series and the remake is very good too. Addicted truly was and still is the best bl for me, the books were legendary and so good!

I were super super excited to hear they remake my n•1 favorite bl series of all time and I expected to get the same vibe of luo yin and gu hai. But after finishing the first ep, I can say it’s not “ addicted” at all , the characters, the vibe and the acting are very different. What I want to say here is just it’s not “addicted” , it’s “stay with me”. Still happy to have this , but again it’s not “addicted “ , it’s just “stay with me”.

I admit it, everything good about ' Addicted/Heroin' made me a nonchalant bystander about this 'remake' of a classic BL story/web series. But, after landing up at Episode 7-8, I, suddenly realized I was delightfully dragged into this bewitching quagmire of a classic recreation of one of BL's indelible prototype storyline. No wonder each and every BL enthusiasts have been incessantly hashing over the merits of ' Stay with Me' in all platforms ( not counting how many OTTs' been simultaneously streaming this masterpiece online).

Ok so this is the Addicted BL series from China but they change the name and also turn it into a bromance with a female love interest instead of a BL which is a bad idea. Why not just let Taiwan or Korea do a remake of it which I will prefer seeing than this? China does not allow any deeper bromance now that doesn't-have heavy censorship. This is just a big no-no for me, so why are you baiting the fans of the original work by putting it on Gagaoolala an lgbt website?
People keep saying oh it's from the same author, yes it is, and the same story too. The bottom line is it is from China so even a bromance will be watered down. We should not forget this was the series that banned the actors from appearing together on TV or in public, because even after the series was blocked/taken down in China, and discontinued so they couldn't go further into the novel. This new series seems like they went a bit further in the book if you have read it, but do you think the director and writers will take risks with this and slip bl? Hell no! There were lots of series like Word of Honor that were supposed to air but had to be dropped or on hold for the past 2 to 3 years now. A new series was out base on a bl novel but turned into bromance actors had amazing chemistry few episodes in it was canceled. All types of rumors came out why it was canceled but if you are a bl fan for a long time read the book or saw the actors on screen then you will understand. The director and writers did try to bypass censorship that didn't work. China is not playing about anything gay on screens.

More than anything, I’m just interested in seeing how much of the book they have to edit out. That book is a roller coaster of emotions and all kids of toxic; but it still had me sobbing at the ending and I want the same from this show.

This is a censored re-production of Addicted Heroin with a different cast. Ofc, we can't expect gay romance like other country series from China, only bromance is there as per MDL. But, even Chinese bromance is intense....so looking forward to it.

okay, this got me all teared up. I'm hoping this was filmed in ROC, indeed of PRC, censorship destroys the story. I am amused by the martial arts special effects.
I guess the guy playing Su Yu (the contemporary to Bai Luoyin from the original novel) can do. But Wu Bi, or in the original novel, Gu Hai, was supposed to be muscular and robust. That’s why Huang Jingyu was a “perfect” cast for the role in the series called Shangyin/Addicted. Well, kudos to the actor for securing the job and hopefully he got paid well, however he doesn’t fit into the description of the original character very well. In the novel, Bai Luoyin (Su Yu) had the side tips of his lips (oral comissure) pointed upward, and this Su Yu actor matches the description. If we want to imagine such lips in a more extreme display, it is similar to the lips of the actor called Kim Soo Hyun. According to the author of the novel, Chai Jidan, Huang Jingyu personified Gu Hai perfectly. Based on the character’s description in the novel, I had always thought that the human that matched the physical description of Gu Hai the most was this Korean non-actor named Seol Minho in his younger days, who was a bodybuilder/fitness model turned gym owner and trainer. Not only he’s physically as per described (albeit the ethnicity), he used to make this serious expression and knit his brows just like Gu Hai. Nevertheless, all love for this version/adaptation of the novel and yes, they didn’t intend to make it an exact copy of the original. So it’s all good. But in case anyone is wondering, the novel that this was adapted from is called “Are You Addicted? (你丫上瘾了? / Ni Ya Shangyin Le?)? So go ahead and read the novel. Some dedicated young ladies even translated it to English. There’s Book 1 and Book 2. I promise you, the novel is more intense than either the “Addicted” series or this new adaptation could match. There’s a Thai adaptation drama coming soon this year. Like many hardcore fans of the novel (Book 1 & 2), some of us have read more than 10 times. If my memory still serves, the characters met each other at 17 years old, in 2002. The proof of this is that in Book 2, Bai Luoyin reminisced their past and Gu Hai remade his house to look like the year they first met and had a 2002 calendar. So that means, had they been real people, they would be 39 year old this year and would have already celebrated their 10 year wedding aniversary and soon, the 11th year.

I just need a “From the creators of Addicted” to be alright again. Addicted literally broke our hearts, but it’s time to move on and I’m ready for this one to fix my heart again. The acting is just too good from this trailer alone. And I know this one will wreck us all 💔
I have seen the first 4 ep. and it was nostalgic. Gu Hai and Lou Yin will always be one of my fave of all time. And this new series did not disappoint. a few changes from the novel but forgivable. The new casts are awesome too. ❤❤❤❤

I remember at that time, someone (i think its the one who acted as Yang Meng) said that after 8 years they will comeback with this series again. Eventhough the actors are not comeback but this series is like a promise (and gift) that the author give to us (surprisingly it's really 8 years of waiting😂). I want to say thanks for the author, actors, and every crew that make this series on air and thank you for keeping the promise. It's a really big gift for every "Heroin" fans. Eventhough i can't erase Guhai and Luoyin in my mind. But this series really recommend for "Heroin" die hard fans❤

The BL is subtle and hinted at off-screen but the bromance is lovely that I wanted to just nibble at it for episodes and episodes. The family plot was great and heart-warming honestly. I'm really happy with the plot and adaptation. At first I thought I wouldn't like the actors but their characters suited them and gave off a boyish charm while still pulling through the emotional scenes (I was quite impressed a few times)
Such a great drama.....have been quite a while since I've watched a series that I find so hard to forget. Hope there will be a season 2.
Wu Bi and Su Yu Actors has their own very unique Perfect Chemistry. Their acting is also great. So many happy and sad scenes that really moved me. Still longing for S2. Please don't leave us hanging...

Wow, it's so emotional to see my favorite book and series again. It makes me happy and sad at the same time. I'm happy because after all these years, we finally get the whole story and the beautiful moments for real. This story means so much to me, it's like something I'm really passionate about. Just watching the trailer made me cry all over again. But I'm also a bit sad because it's focused on the bromance . However, overall, I'm okay with it. Seeing the entire book come to life feels like a dream come true for me.

Haven't seen an episode of this remake, but i guess i appreciate that at least the fans of the original (Addicted) wasn't left hanging anymore (though still left heartbroken). Still, i feel like the original series remains irreplaceable when it comes on how intense sexual tension and intimate scenes between characters had been, plus the actors were so damn great playing their roles.
This remake must be great too, but the level of greatness of the original already has its place in my heart's hall of fame.
Addicted is ingrained in my brain forever. The BL drama and the 2 novels I read day and night. I wished Johnny and Timmy would come back but they've moved on and it's okay. I'm excited for these young actors to portray the HaiLuoyin fantasy as YuBi
Even though we won't be getting the old cast and the original version back I'm very happy that we at least got a continuation of the series and the remake is very good too. Addicted truly was and still is the best bl for me, the books were legendary and so good!

I were super super excited to hear they remake my n•1 favorite bl series of all time and I expected to get the same vibe of luo yin and gu hai. But after finishing the first ep, I can say it’s not “ addicted” at all , the characters, the vibe and the acting are very different.
What I want to say here is just it’s not “addicted” , it’s “stay with me”.
Still happy to have this , but again it’s not “addicted “ , it’s just “stay with me”.

I admit it, everything good about ' Addicted/Heroin' made me a nonchalant bystander about this 'remake' of a classic BL story/web series. But, after landing up at Episode 7-8, I, suddenly realized I was delightfully dragged into this bewitching quagmire of a classic recreation of one of BL's indelible prototype storyline. No wonder each and every BL enthusiasts have been incessantly hashing over the merits of ' Stay with Me' in all platforms ( not counting how many OTTs' been simultaneously streaming this masterpiece online).
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS KIND OF BL....THE LOVE-HATE KINDA THING...... AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH ON SOMEHOW REPRISING THE "ADDICTED" SERIES. FROM THIS TRAILER I CAN ALREADY SEE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE ACTORS. THANKS THANKS THANKS!

Ok so this is the Addicted BL series from China but they change the name and also turn it into a bromance with a female love interest instead of a BL which is a bad idea. People keep saying oh it's from the same author, yes it is, and the same story too. The bottom line is it is from China so even a bromance will be watered down. We should not forget this was the series that banned the actors from appearing together on TV or in public, because even after the series was blocked/taken down in China, and discontinued so they couldn't go further into the novel. This new series seems like they went a bit further in the book if you have read it, but do you think the director and writers will take risks with this and slip bl? Hell no! There were lots of series like Word of Honor that were supposed to air but had to be dropped or on hold for the past 2 to 3 years now. A new series was out base on a bl novel but turned into bromance actors had amazing chemistry few episodes in it was canceled. All types of rumors came out why it was canceled but if you are a bl fan for a long time read the book or saw the actors on screen then you will understand. The director and writers did try to bypass censorship that didn't work. China is not playing about anything gay on screens.

More than anything, I’m just interested in seeing how much of the book they have to edit out. That book is a roller coaster of emotions and all kids of toxic; but it still had me sobbing at the ending and I want the same from this show.

This is a censored re-production of Addicted Heroin with a different cast. Ofc, we can't expect gay romance like other country series from China, only bromance is there as per MDL. But, even Chinese bromance is intense....so looking forward to it.

I guess the guy playing Su Yu (the contemporary to Bai Luoyin from the original novel) can do. But Wu Bi, or in the original novel, Gu Hai, was supposed to be muscular and robust. That’s why Huang Jingyu was a “perfect” cast for the role in the series called Shangyin/Addicted. Well, kudos to the actor for securing the job and hopefully he got paid well, however he doesn’t fit into the description of the original character very well.
In the novel, Bai Luoyin (Su Yu) had the side tips of his lips (oral comissure) pointed upward, and this Su Yu actor matches the description. If we want to imagine such lips in a more extreme display, it is similar to the lips of the actor called Kim Soo Hyun. According to the author of the novel, Chai Jidan, Huang Jingyu personified Gu Hai perfectly. Based on the character’s description in the novel, I had always thought that the human that matched the physical description of Gu Hai the most was this Korean non-actor named Seol Minho in his younger days, who was a bodybuilder/fitness model turned gym owner and trainer. Not only he’s physically as per described (albeit the ethnicity), he used to make this serious expression and knit his brows just like Gu Hai.
Nevertheless, all love for this version/adaptation of the novel and yes, they didn’t intend to make it an exact copy of the original. So it’s all good. But in case anyone is wondering, the novel that this was adapted from is called “Are You Addicted? (你丫上瘾了? / Ni Ya Shangyin Le?)? So go ahead and read the novel. Some dedicated young ladies even translated it to English. There’s Book 1 and Book 2. I promise you, the novel is more intense than either the “Addicted” series or this new adaptation could match. There’s a Thai adaptation drama coming soon this year.
Like many hardcore fans of the novel (Book 1 & 2), some of us have read more than 10 times. If my memory still serves, the characters met each other at 17 years old, in 2002. The proof of this is that in Book 2, Bai Luoyin reminisced their past and Gu Hai remade his house to look like the year they first met and had a 2002 calendar. So that means, had they been real people, they would be 39 year old this year and would have already celebrated their 10 year wedding aniversary and soon, the 11th year.
Stay with Me is filling that void that Addicted left us with. I will love these two the same way I have loved GuHai and Luo Yin❤
