Because they wanted more realism and less fantasy to start. Arcane might go around the entirety of runeterra, as the writers have said. But they wanted to tell a different story with arcane, and honestly it's for the better
Sarah in the end has become possessed or brainwashed by power and Pyke still sees the King as a target. Amazing story, this story should be animated as a season or arc in Arcane.

I thought Fiddles stayed in Demacia. Now he travels? Is that why he has a line with Jinx, he went to Zaun? How is Zaun not a ghost town then?
I love how when they all put their hands on the amulet (around 3:57 hours), everyone said something meaningful whilr pyke just said "i am worthy."
