Great topic! If we do not express our emotions, they starting eating us from the inside. Emotionally intelligent people are able to speak about their emotions in a civilised way. This makes them better and stronger and it helps them build long-lasting relationships.
When I was sad, I cry. When I was happy a lot, I cry. When I was depressed, I cry. When I was furious, I cry. When I get trouble, I cry. When I watch dramatic movie, it touched me and I cry. The regular thing that I do the most in my life is crying. Sometime it makes someone else laugh because of my unreasonable crying. And I accept the fact that crying is not someone else's weakness, it's the way to release his/her emotion. You can cry as much as you wish but what the matter is not to give up. Hope to see you soon, bye guys!
Last time I cried in my university because I felt resented because of my new friends.they never concider my opinion and it created a backlog and one day It made me weep out at my campus.the final straw that made my cried was when my teacher started scolding me and labeled me as a irresponsible person I could say I was a ticking bomb at that time.
The last time I cried was a month ago. I was watching a movie with my wife. It was a scene that moved my emotions. I felt my eyes full tears. Men cry too.
Interesting information. I think this is a great power - to have a possibility to cry. Not everyone can give this kind of emotion. It isn’t a weakness. Not necessarily. Moreover, sometimes everyone needs to cry. PS: take care , guys.
I guess some people wanna cry but can’t. For example I can be very upset by something, but since I can’t make any tears people think that I don’t have any serious emotion. At least my wife often thinks this way
The idea that weeping is sign of weakness has been proved untrue .Crying is result of build up frustration and resentment .For example , If employees do not dealt with their problem ,it can couse blacklog and burn out.Hence , it can be said although people who cry easily are no taken seriously and sometimes labelled for being weak, crying is a way to express emotion whether it sadness or joyful.
I think I am a sensitive girl, so I can cry easily everywhere. Sometimes, I want to control my emotion to make myself not cry, but this thing is very dificult.
1. resentment - a feeling of anger because you have been treated unfairly 2. backlog -an accumulation of unsolved issues that you had to deal with 3. the final straw - the last small problem which make you want to give up maybe start crying
-Burst into crying: when your tear come unstoppable and without taking control of them - label : becoming known with particular kind of personality even though might not be true Backclogg : accumilation of issues you should have dealt with before but didn't Weep : cry The last stroll that broke the camel's back: the problem which makes want to give up and cry - resentment: feeling of anger that you have been treated unfairly.
The last time I cried was three days ago. The reason is my father scold me because I can not cook well as he expects. Actually, I'm not a sensitive girl, but this time I cried. Maybe, that is the final straw. My father is very easy to anger and I hate that. Anyway, after crying, I feel better and I think we should express our emotions by this way. Don't repress.
I think crying is a good emotion... We can express our feeling, thats a good quality of us.... I love people who express their emotions. In this world, no will be there who don't cry, if it is men or women.
1.be taken seriously be treated as being deserving of attention or respect được để tâm/ chú ý tới, được tôn trọng 2.get a label be thought of as having a particular character or nature, often unfairly đc coi là có tính cách/bản chất cụ thể, thường là không đúng final straw further problem or difficulty, usually minor in itself, which comes after a series of other problems and makes you want to give up việc làm cho mọi thứ trở nên tồi tệ , giọt nước tràn ly resentments feelings of anger because you think you have been treated unfairly or because you have been forced to accept something that you don’t like sự oán giận weeping =crying (a) đang khóc .........tears backlog sự ùn đống accumulation of uncompleted matters that you should have dealt with before and must now do

Hello. This is 6 Minute English from BBC Learning English. I'm Neil. And I'm Sam. Do you cry easily, Sam? I mean, when was the last time you cried? Let me think... Last week watching a movie, probably. I was watching a really dramatic film and in one scene, the heroine gets separated from her children. I just burst out crying. How about you Neil - when was he last time you cried? Men don't cry, Sam. Come on, Neil! That's a bit stereotypical, isn't it? - the idea that men don't show their emotions and women cry all the time. Well, that's an interesting point, Sam, because in today's programme we're discussing crying. We'll be investigating the reasons why we cry and looking at some of the differences between men and women and between crying in public and in private. And of course, we'll be learning some related vocabulary along the way. I guess it's kind of true that women do cry more than men. People often think crying is only about painful feelings but we also cry to show joy and when we are moved by something beautiful like music or a painting. So, maybe women are just more in touch with their feelings and that's why they cry more. Well actually, Sam, that brings me to our quiz question. According to a study from 2017 conducted in the UK, on average, how many times a year do women cry? Is it: a) 52, b) 72, or c) 102? Hmm, it's a tricky question, Neil. I mean, there are so many different reasons why people cry. And what makes me cry might make someone else laugh. I think some of my female friends probably cry around once a week, so I'll guess the answer is a) 52. OK, Sam. We'll find out later if you were right. Now, while it may be true that men cry less often, it also seems that they feel less embarrassed about crying in public. This may be because of differences in how men and women think others will view their public displays of emotion. Here's BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour speaking to therapist Joanna Cross about the issue of crying at work. Let's take the workplace. If you've got somebody who seems to cry regularly, I think that's not helpful for the individual because then if they cry over something that really is important to them, they might not be taken so seriously - or they get a label. But I do think crying is often a build-up of frustration and undealt-with situations and it's a bit of a final straw moment. So people who regularly cry at work risk not being taken seriously - not being treated as deserving attention or respect. And they might even get a label - become thought of as having a particular character, whether that's true or not. Here's Joanna Cross again: You build up your resentments, your lack of boundaries, not being able to say 'no' and then somebody says, 'Can you go and make a cup of tea?' and you suddenly find yourself weeping. And everybody says, 'What's wrong with her?', you know, but actually that's often a backlog of situations. So, a common reason for crying at work seems to be a build-up of resentments - feelings of anger when you think you have been treated unfairly or have been forced to accept something you don't like. When left undealt with, these feelings can create a backlog - an accumulation of issues that you should have dealt with before but didn't. Right. And then, like Joanna says, someone asks you to do something very simple and easy, like make a cup of tea, and you start weeping - another word for crying. That's a good example of a final straw moment, a term which comes from the expression, 'The straw that broke the camel's back'. The final straw means a further problem which itself might be insignificant but which finally makes you want to give up. I hope this programme won't be the final straw for us, Sam. I doubt it, Neil. The only time I cry at work is when you used to bring in your onion sandwiches for lunch. In fact, I can feel a tear rolling down my cheek right now... Ah, so that counts as one of your cries, Sam. Remember, I asked you on average how many times a year women in the UK cry - and you said? I said a) 52. Well, don't cry when I tell you that you were wrong. The actual answer was c) 72 times a year. Which on average is more than men, but less than parents of new-born babies, both mothers and fathers. They cry almost as much as their babies! Today, we've been talking about crying - or weeping, as it's sometimes called. People who often cry at work risk not being taken seriously - not treated as deserving of attention or respect. This means they might get a label - becoming known as someone with a particular kind of personality, even though that may not be true. But crying is also a healthy way of expressing emotions. It can help deal with resentments - feelings of anger that you have been treated unfairly. If we don't deal with these feelings in some way, they can grow into a backlog - an accumulation of unresolved issues that you now need to deal with. And if you don't deal with them, you might become a ticking bomb waiting to explode. Then anything someone says to you can become the final straw - the last small problem which makes you want to give up and maybe start crying. What's the matter, Neil? Was it something I said? No, Sam - I'm crying because it's the end of the programme! Ahh, don't worry because we'll be back soon for another edition of 6 Minute English. But bye for now. Bye.
thanks from bbc learning english, it can help me to learn some new experisions and phrases... why more women cry than men? and the last time you did cry...actually last time i cried on monday evening when i saw a movie about divorce and their child was crying...
I am always injoy it b.b.c.learning english rather good listening can hear more about version some are same and different but only have time for listening many words to learn thanks.
The last time I cried when I realized I can't eat strawberries anymore. I have an allergy on them,it was so dramatically sad moment I've ever had. I was only 4 years and it makes me laugh every time my mom reminds it to me.
Sometimes people also cry over a spilt milk. Once I cried with sadness after reading a book by Victor Hugo. I need to express my feelings by crying sometimes.
I cry most often when any of my close one leaves. Leaves in the sense they go back after paying a visit to my home. The other times I cry is when my beloved is a bit angry and does not speak straight to me. He thinks that I don't understand but his change of tone cannot be borne by my heart and leaves my heart in immense pain. But everytime he comes back and provides protection to me...
I cried yesterday as I felt resented with my girlfriend. She never consider my feeling even if I am by her side whenever she is in need. By means of accumulation of this feeling again and agan ,it creates a backlog of sorrow. That is why i weeped last night when my tear is not in my control. The most terrible that i worry about is that she would label me as an unreliable man. But rigght now i feel quite relaxed and ready to fight for new challenges.
Today I was crying because of hopeless. There is a war in my motherland and I can't do anything to stop it. I feel like an useless thing. I'm so far now from there... Many innocent people are dying due to this politic conflict! When I make aware of the number of victims I can't help myself weeping. It's horrible. There are lots of volunteers who want to protect his motherland. It's really admiring and I'm deeply proud of my compatriots. But anymore I want the war to stop. Nothing can justify human victims! I hope God will hear our prayers. Where world peace will come?
4/25 4:25 We are all easy crying person all the time. And it ’s hard to turn off when start crying. Because we are also made of water. So we have to laugh more and stop crying
Examples. Last summer Kate lost her job. She didn't weep. But some weeks later her boyfriend broke up with her. And that was the final straw moment for Kate. She just bearst into tears. Her mother felt for her, but she couldn't do anything about the situation...
You make a great videos. I to greateful with you.. I hope that you keep making more videos like these, I am able to understand almost everything, what are you trying to say !!!! Thanks again!!!!!

Sam- Ahh, don’t worry because we will be back soon for another edition of 6 Minute English. But, bye for now.
Neil- Bye.

Girl talking- Hi everyone, we hoped you enjoyed that video and we have so many more just like it, so if you don’t want to miss a single one, make sure to subscribe and we will see you regularly. Hope to see you soon, bye guys!
Last time I cried in my university because I felt resented because of my new friends.they
never concider my opinion and it created a backlog and one day It made me weep out at my campus.the final straw that made my cried was when my teacher started scolding me and labeled me as a irresponsible person I could say I was a ticking bomb at that time.
The last time I cried was a month ago. I was watching a movie with my wife. It was a scene that moved my emotions. I felt my eyes full tears. Men cry too.
Absolutely they do! Which film was it is?
@@bbclearningenglish "The light between oceans" is the movie that made me shed tears. It's a romance / drama film.
Whenever I watch sad scene in a drama or film ,I start weeping
" Thank you " People really so lovely, grettings indeed.
I think it is important to show your emotion and express your thought by crying, and it nothing to be ashamed
At least my wife often thinks this way
IGOR yeah! Different people- different emotions. It’s okay )
I hate the fact that stereotypes shape how we behave e. Men need to cry and show emotions, they are humans too and they are NOT weak .
I really understand it
@@rh3788 yah! Sometimes, being a sensitive person is trouble.
Hi
Can you speek with me in English on what's up
1. resentment - a feeling of anger because you have been treated unfairly
2. backlog -an accumulation of unsolved issues that you had to deal with
3. the final straw - the last small problem which make you want to give up maybe start crying
nice programme. Thank you BBC
Crying should be respected more, it's so human!
这个视频真的很有深度,涉及到了哭泣的力量,非常吸引人。我喜欢这个主题!
-Burst into crying: when your tear come unstoppable and without taking control of them
- label : becoming known with particular kind of personality even though might not be true
Backclogg : accumilation of issues you should have dealt with before but didn't
Weep : cry
The last stroll that broke the camel's back: the problem which makes want to give up and cry
- resentment: feeling of anger that you have been treated unfairly.
Great list! Making notes is always very helpful for improving 💪 The first one is 'burst into tears' instead of 'burst into crying' 😊
A great series for newcomers.
Crying is a kind of relief and tears are antibacterials .so shedding tears is beneficial
I dont remember my last cry but Surely weeping is a great way to Reduce anger.
thanks BBC learning
I think crying is a good emotion... We can express our feeling, thats a good quality of us.... I love people who express their emotions. In this world, no will be there who don't cry, if it is men or women.
1.be taken seriously
be treated as being deserving of attention or respect được để tâm/ chú ý tới, được tôn trọng
2.get a label
be thought of as having a particular character or nature, often unfairly
đc coi là có tính cách/bản chất cụ thể, thường là không đúng
final straw
further problem or difficulty, usually minor in itself, which comes after a series of other problems and makes you want to give up
việc làm cho mọi thứ trở nên tồi tệ , giọt nước tràn ly
resentments
feelings of anger because you think you have been treated unfairly or because you have been forced to accept something that you don’t like
sự oán giận
weeping
=crying (a) đang khóc .........tears
backlog
sự ùn đống
accumulation of uncompleted matters that you should have dealt with before and must now do
If i remember correctly, it was last month. When i had read a book was called "The most beautiful goodbye", i was crying a lot. Well, actually i am not good in control emotions.
It must have been a powerful book to have made you cry! Did it make you cry with happiness or with sadness?
Đấy có phải là cuốn lời chia tay đẹp đẽ nhất của tgia người hàn quốc k bạn oi? có lần mình định đọc cuốn í mà giờ vẫn chưa đọc vì chưa được ai review cho 😀

Two days back I cried and shed tears.
I cry almost once a day!! I´m very sensitive and cry seeing the news, watching a film, when I remember my father or my children write to me a letter...
Backlog - accumulation of issues let unsolved
Strawmoment - the final straw :)))

Such a great video to check vocabulary and pronunciation !!!cheers for all.
Don’t put up with unfair or bad feelings within, solve problems in time and don’t let it burst out in form of weeping)
When i think moments far away from today i feel it makes me weep otherwise when i remember my backlog resentments i stand and stop weeping

I love this topic. It’s so useful for leaners. I’m the person who often cry because of normal things.🥹 But I feel comfortable when I can express my feelings 🥰
Bye.
Thank you🙏

I cry most often when any of my close one leaves. Leaves in the sense they go back after paying a visit to my home. The other times I cry is when my beloved is a bit angry and does not speak straight to me. He thinks that I don't understand but his change of tone cannot be borne by my heart and leaves my heart in immense pain. But everytime he comes back and provides protection to me...
Last time I cried.. When I attended the telephone interview I couldn't speak fluently.. That time emotionally feel

I love BBB learning English.
And thanks so much for video. I'm enjoying seeing this podcast.
Thanks for listening 😊
Today I was crying because of hopeless. There is a war in my motherland and I can't do anything to stop it. I feel like an useless thing. I'm so far now from there... Many innocent people are dying due to this politic conflict! When I make aware of the number of victims I can't help myself weeping. It's horrible. There are lots of volunteers who want to protect his motherland. It's really admiring and I'm deeply proud of my compatriots. But anymore I want the war to stop. Nothing can justify human victims! I hope God will hear our prayers. Where world peace will come?
I always try to express my emotions in necessary time and after crying I feel better myself
Correction. Burst into tears. Not bearst 😔
