Question to Amna, When you are saying that Actor/Actress should choose either TV or Cinema ( 1:04:25) but later you said(1:20:05) we watch 13 dramas in a week to review. How a reviewer of TV dramas can do justice to do a film review if a TV actor should not be a film actor?

Watched LNJG yesterday. In an English town with not a large desi population. QZ will not play in my town so can't see that. There were about 30 other seats occupied. They laughed and I laughed. The film clearly is tongue in cheek in its tone, we didn't go to learn lessons. As entertainment it was good. I wasn't expecting a crisp story so i wasn't disappointed. The one liners and intended bad poetry was enjoyable. Subtitles were poor quality so it would be hard to engage a non-Urdu audience. I have laughed at subtitled films so I know they can be better. The marjaniye song was pure useless no build up to how the hero got to join uninvited at a wedding. I saw dum mastam in cinema and was left nonplussed with it so LNJG was definitely a better watch.
I watched nearly every urdu and punjabi film in the 90s....in cinema... until I left the homeland in the naughties! In comparison today's films are very poor on storylines and narrative even though they have a better technical finish.
It hurts that its impossible to find and buy original quality prints of our films after they end their run in cinemas. I would love to own several films from the 90s with their fun stories and excellent music even with poor editing and numerous other flaws. I also want to own mah e meer, ready steady no, wrong number, namaloom afrad. But can't. If you guys could make that possible with your lobbying I would forever be grateful.

Mahira character in QAZ was very progressive, loved seeing a Pakistani leading lady having a job,she was a Veterinarian, saving animals, which is a great message, plus great role model for girls, she has her own identity, she drive around on scooter, she can get herself from point a to b and had the skills to put forward men back! The chemistry of Mahira and Fahad was awesome it should had been continue, why the film maker not see this ? A good effort, fun enjoyable film!

QAZ is a typical formula Bollywood style movie. Every scene seems like we have seen it before. Mahira is not so popular as she is hyped by some of her supporter. The biggest flaw of QAZ was it focused on male characters rather than females. LNJ'S strength is its romantic atmosphere that is ladies' more favorite.

    • @aziza000
      @aziza000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Mahira is very popular but I think it’s dying out now. Part of the reason is she’s made bad films in recent past and she’s not been on tv as much. HKKST was abysmal.

it felt like the punjab nahi jaungi story and character just in a dragged out movie. the ending was so rushed and unbelievable because you do not see her actually even care about him until the last two minutes.. so much so that when the screen turned black i didn’t even realize it ended and definitely thought something was missing even tho it was already so long.

LNJG Humyuan character is a flawed character with a family back ground he is raised in regressive, mind sets, where elders pushed grown children into marriage, forced cousin marriages! Plus, Kubra ‘s character should had been cast in mawish character London returned girl, because Kubra can speak in English accent ! The Pakistan artists must get coaches like they do in HW, when American actors plays English British characters!

Isn’t it amazing that we enjoy this review panel discussion without even seeing the movie. Shows that good content stands on its own.

LNJ first half was better. I liked its theme and message but it was boring. They should’ve made the murderer a mystery and that should’ve been the climax scene. I didn’t really find any romantic connection between Mehwish and Humayun’s characters either, didn’t make sense why Mehwish fell for Humayun. QEAZ is a million times better, entertaining majority of the time, although it did drag slightly at times. I had only hoped that Nayyar Ejaz character was more involved in the story so the climax scene would’ve been better again.

Loved to see all reviewers together, but couldn't help hating when they all talked and argued at the same time like school kids or poorly conducted talk shows, and one couldn't hear a single one of them! It is high time to improve the quality standards of our panel discussion shows as our culture is robbed by channels copying crass indian content be it news media or entertainment! Fuchsia and Haute Bites should learn and reteach audiences how to hold pair/ group discussions which suit our basic cultural norms.

In my humble opinion, we should not mix some one's personality with their craft. You were there to discuss film only. On public platform we should not vent our grudges. Also I sense, may be I am wrong, you were saying why people give him work. Sorry to say we shouldn't forget what happened with Aamir liauaqat. When we don't like someone we should keep our silence and that make us great human being. Thank you!

Started LNJ review but had to stop……
Stop being over critical!!! movies and dramas are ENTERTAINMENT not college and schools! Humayun’s character didn’t do anything wrong 🙄
Only Amna’s words and critique made sense. Sorry to say but Rabia is being way too critical

Kamran was great in the panel. He talked the most like a person belonging to industry rather then a layman. And also liked his ironical sense of humor.
Keep up the good work team fuchsia.😊

    fuchsia good going.
happpy to see Kamran back again and sticking to his opinion.
Aamna and Kamran interaction was very refreshing to see. they agreed a lot but when they differed in opinion they still listened to each other.
happy to see Buraq talking more.
while Maliha and Rabia both were willy nilly.
