This song has the exuberance of youth written all over it. If I had children (I have none) I would dance all over my living room with them to this at every opportunity.
I did dance when I heard it on the radio at the time and was caught swaying or jigging my shoulders when I heard it on the radio in the warehouse. Then a manager came up to me and jokingly said "No dancing in the warehouse."
I recall first time I saw this video, it was 80s, it was the best era in music and MTV actually showed music videos instead of the BS that they show now, hence Music TV. This was so good, the music, the video and we had fun, we enjoyed the music, we danced to it and we loved this song. I have to admit, I was not a huge fan of theirs, not that I didn't like them, just didn't get a chance to listen to too many of their songs, but then heard some of their music in the movies later and loved every single one of their songs that I heard. If anyone can recommend other songs by them, I would love to hear all of them if possible. Great music is truly timeless and ageless. Brings back some amazing memories of having fun and enjoying life.

This blew me away when I first heard it, and I didn't know it was a remake of an early '60s song until I heard the Strangeloves' recording. It sounded great in both decades, and still does. 40 years ago in 1982 i heard the original many times but barely heard this version in 1982. it started getting airplay in the 1990s on retro radio shows.
The older i get the less intimidating her hair seems to be to me and the more it hurts a very real pain just looking at her, while feeling shimmering youth flying away...
The 80s were scary times - it was when we became aware of HIV and AIDS. Many were lost that wouldn’t enjoy these songs 30-40 years later. I’m thankful I’m one of those that can.

The first time I heard Bow Wow Wow must have been 1982 and I remember Richard Blade introducing them with his British accent on KROQ 106.7 out of Pasadena, CA. You know, Richard is still around! I heard him not too long ago DJ'ing on Sirius radio 80's channel. He sounds exactly the same.
