I noticed you hung or attached the hook and bait to a grappling hook looking deal on your sinker before making the cast? Looked beneficial but I'm not familiar with what it is or where to purchase such a thing. I have a friend who is currently on the road to Destin looking to do some fishing while down there. I typically just get an inshore charter when I visit, but what you're doing sure seemed to work!
About the rigging, it's a spider wieght, and I put the end with the bait on one of the legs. It helps with casting. I'll try to get a video out explaining my setups and rigging. I don't know when, though.

Spike closer to water...and speed up release...be prepared...cut time out of water
