Our congress government never thought of scrapping this Indus Water Treaty when Pakistan captured Kargil heights in 1999 and this treaty should have been scrapped in 1990 or any time after that when Pakistani trained terrorists started coming in thousands and murdered thousands of Hindus and drove them out of their homes. Very strange ! that congress ruled for ten years after that from 2004 to 2014 and never thought of threatening Pakistan to scrap this treaty. It was only when Modi came in 2014 that a new theory of - ‘ blood and water cannot move together’ devised,but BJP government also took very long time to seriously give notice to Pakistan to review this treaty.
