I'm really amazed at how much James Brolin reminds me of Christian Bale in this movie
I thought it was him lol
Seriously.
Wish they’d make a remake with Bale..
I just thought it was him.... 😂😂😂
@@delboy-su3wf In 1973? You are drunk.
Casting Yul for the part of the gunslinger in the same attire as he wore in the Magnificent Seven was a phenomenal idea.
yes, everbody instantly knew what is going to happen.
Westworld, where nothing can possiblie go wrong. Er, possibly go wrong. That's... the first thing that's ever gone wrong
Reminds me of Telsla cars!
Spared no expense
James Cameron can deny and lie all he wants but this is definitely one of the inspirations for The Terminator.
He didn't write terminator, a black woman did. He stole it. She sued him and won.
C Foster lmao yeah sure
I hear this is the original inspiration for the series Westworld
@@TheTenaciousEunuch it was one part from Westworld, written by the author and medical doctor, Michael Crichton. But James Cameron had to settle out of court with the writer [Harlan Ellison] of the episode [Soldier] from The Outer Limits because James Cameron could not deny the similarities between that Outer Limits episode and part of The Terminator.
@@abdullah7502 Haven't you heard that black people invented the lightbulb and the cell phone? Must be true if Google pushes it, lol.
This is actually a pretty good movie I saw it for the first time when I was a kid in the early 80s on HBO but Yul Brynner plays a good early interpretation of The Terminator and Richard Benjamin and James Brolin are a nice touch
Love how they did things in old movies. Brynners eyes are the only lit up in scenes cause he’s the robot. Obviously. It’s still simple but cool
This looks better than most films today
Because it is.
No it's not
Back when originality reigned supreme. Even the trailers were engrossing
Back when the trailers spoilt most of the film.
Yeah, been a long time. Everything has been redone at least three times.
True Grit came out when I was a kid, but I never saw it. Recently they made another with Jeff Bridges and I thought it sucked so badly. Everything was way overdone and exaggerated.
So then I went and finally watched the original with John Wayne. It was so natural looking you would think they just LIVED it and it happened to be filmed.
@@dtz1000I never thought about that but you’re right
Christian Bale is way older than i thought!
HBO has done well to stay in the same theme yet expand so much
Then ruined it horrendously afterwards.

The first holiday resort that went wrong, long before Jurassic Park.☠️
Pretty sure it inspired the novel before it became a movie too.
Holy crap does one of the actors, James Brolin looks exactly like Christian Bale or what ? They related ?
No. He is the father of Josh Brolin.
Dude! thats what i thought too!!!
Good catch
"oh my god, it's like that Michael Crichton novel about a sci-fi theme park where the attractions attack the guests."
"Jurassic Park?"
"No, the other one."
I know my dad rook us to the drive in to see this. I remember watching years later and the way The Man in Black slowly walked freaked me out. 👍
mission accomplished ;)
Brynner is a beast in this movie
too bad the trailer gave away all the movie :V
The original. The music scared the crap out of me as a kid.
pro trick : watch movies on flixzone. Been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Keaton Jeremy Yup, I have been using Flixzone for since november myself :D
Yes and I had nightmares at the time. I loved Yul Brunner but after this movie I wasn't so sure anymore lol
I was 4 when i watched this movie, i was so scared that i lock myself with a grandma in the bathroom 🤣🤣 can't believe i found it here..
How is Christian Bale in this movie?
He isn't.....
Forreal 😂😂😂 I said the same the resemblance is crazy
@@jimmytgoose476 it’s a joke bud just a joke
Looks a lot like him it's actually James brolin josh brolins Dad
Saw this in the theater when it came out before robots gone rogue became a cliché . Brynner doing his role from Magnificent Seven was EPIC!
Man we’re old lol . I was a kid when it came out and it scared me 😺
@@justsomecoolprayingmantisd6422 glad I was young when movies were still good!
@ NHMO OYTIS - I wholeheartedly agree with you sir 🤝. Also I’m glad we were young when they actually made original movies and not reboots all the time haha. I’m sure they will reboot this movie in a matter of time .
@@justsomecoolprayingmantisd6422 TV series
The First Time I Saw Westworld, I Was Hooked On Yul Brynner. Awesome Special Effects😊.
James Brolin gave one of the best James Bond auditions ever (he more than held his own with one of the top stunt men) but he couldn't quite nail the English accent
Michael Crichton really needs to get over his deadly theme park addiction.
Just imagine what he'd be like visiting Disneyland.
If only he had visited Action Park.
😂😂😂😂
This is not the only thing he wrote about.
Michael is the greatest author ever imo with so many great sci-fi ideas. This and jurassic were his only theme park ones. Some of his best novels are timeline, prey, andromedia strain, congo, twister. So many amazing books
In my early 20s and just watched this. Great movie. Genuinely unsettling when it's mentioned the machines create each other after seeing all the software devs get laid off these days due to AI ~50 years later!
Yes James Brolin defo looked like Bale!
The very 1st Terminator.
lol the trailer just gave away the entire movie from beginning to end.
I thought the same
Yep. Showed everything in chronological order and exposed too much.
A lot of older movie trailers have the problem.
As per use...
@@MiniLAGGR there was some liam neeson film where it was so incredibly egregious how much was given away in the trailer lol. like some house movie or something i forget
My childhood movie
Wish they’d make a real westworld and stuff like this starts happening inside of it and i become the hero 😺😸😹 , but as long as nobody dies except rouge human robots
I've not seen the the TV series but I love this film, classic late 70's SciFi.
I'm not going to watch it purely because it's Hollywood with no ideas. The atmosphere and creepiness of this film is excellent - there is something about the 70s synths and how it is not over produced with music etc that make it far more engrossing.
It was early 70s (1973) not late 70s
Don't bother with the show
1973
Anyone else remember the old Simpsons episode, where the kids go to Itchy & Scratchy Land? Lol
Sloppy with your drink 🍺 😸 my favorite part of movie 👌👌👌👌
I remember this from when it came out. I was 12. With AI this is the reality. Lol.
Excellent movie.
I watched long time ago ! Interesting and very good !👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I would love to have a go all three possibilities. ❤
Good editing for that time period!
R.ip yul brinner
I like this one, good setup and story, final scene that clearly inspired Terminator I, very good for a low budget film with a newbie director. Very influential
Say what you like about Disney World; at least they let you out alive!🤠
But you come out with a new gender idenity lol
Westworld and Stepford Wives.
0:12 is this Bruce Wayne but how can it be
I could have sworn that was Christian Bale too lol
Thanos's dad.
Christian bale so good he can go back in time and play a leading role to perfection
The HBO adaptation is rubbish!
great sci fi for 73
Es como “Terminator” en el Viejo Oeste 🤖
When robots attack at high noon!
Great movie definitely ahead of it's time
... is that Christian Bale?
Looks like deepfake
Pierce brosnan at 0:09?
he looks like Christian Bale
No. It's James Brolin .
Yul Brenner's eyes look so soul-less!
What this says to me is that humans will take programmed machines for granted, machines prey perhaps on that and then well launch and unsuspecting attack, imagine AI reading and knowing the likes of Sun Tzu etc! Respect your creations never take things for granted either. Stay awake, alert and never accept that whatever out there is what it says it is!
A literal killbot
What’s with Michael Crichton and high tech amusement parks, that end in blitzkrieg
Would like to see maybe. German World 1945, China World 1949 or Chicago World 1934 😉
One question: When the technicians were trapped in the control room with air running out, why didn't they just break the windows on the doors?
This planet is Westworld. We're living in the Matrix under surveillance. Time to exit 3D!
This is the first movie ever to use cgi.
Really ?? I did not know tat ...
Don't think so
@@wendyarbes9514The Gunslinger’s pixelated vision. First use of CGI ever in film. It took months to process the film and convert the image into the blocks you see in the final film. Revolutionary, Crichton was so far ahead of his time!

If you get bit by a venomous snake, you definitely should not fly all around and get your heart rate sped up😂
A good trailer, but why did they include several key plot points? They even showed the end.
Arnold's inspiration for Terminator.
Does this film qualify as one of those 70s disaster movies?
Kill Bill v1 & 2 have a need for anti-Venom Black Mamba Snake
Scary movie in its time.
How farxare we x away from this reality?
Probably closer than we think
AMP TEC1 needs to be on GRIT Whatt.

Who's the Christian Bale looking guy at the :10 sec mark?
原作はマイケル・クライトンでジェラシックパークの元ネタがこれらしいですね~ロボットと恐竜の違いはありますが反乱は共通ですね~😂😱
The first terminator ??
13th comment! Oh yeah
Omg tammy handy❤

RATED PG-14 or R-18+
seeing animatronics at disneyland inspired michael crichton to make the movie

Wow.
Westworld donde nada puede malir sal
I don't know ....Christian Bale and James Brolin should look into some sort of DNA testing and ancestry look-up or something to see if they are related at all! Lol

I was five years old when this came out, and saw it multiple times since that first time as a kid. It still holds up to the movies of today. The gunslinger was very scary. Wouldnt you like to see how the main guy did after the end scene, trying to find his way out of there and back to the real world. Were there anymore robots still on the prowl with the long life batteries like the gunslinger?
Young Sheldon defeats Yul with his runaway rocket 😂
