    I love gold!!!
    If I won $100,000,000 today I would buy $50,000,000 in gold bars tomorrow.
    I would look at it every day and touch them and play with them.

    0:44 📈 Gold bars can be a significant investment for those looking to hedge against inflation or preserve wealth.
    2:05 ⚖ Advantages of gold bars include acquiring a sizable amount quickly and at low premiums compared to coins.
    3:37 🔒 Gold bars are relatively easy to store due to their compact size and minimal risk of damage affecting their value.
    3:42 ❌ Disadvantages include potential concerns about the origin or authenticity of the bars, especially if not from well-known mints.
    6:43 💰 Large gold bars may pose liquidity issues when selling, as they cannot be easily divided into smaller increments.
    7:35 💲 While gold bars offer low premiums during purchase, they may also fetch lower premiums when sold compared to coins, potentially limiting returns.
    8:41 🏛 Gold bars generally have less collectible value compared to coins, reducing their potential for appreciating in value over time.
    9:02 🛒 For large gold purchases, consider buying smaller coins for better liquidity or coins from reputable governments.

      It may not matter to YOU when you buy it, but it WILL matter when you try to sell it. Unless you have access to x-ray for testing, it is nearly impossible to tell if bars like he had in the video are authentic. One of the reasons why mints have "fancy" designs is so that it is easier to spot a fake. Crudely cast bars like the ones in the video will have far less interest. The guy in the vid said bars like his could be filled with silver.....nope, silver has the wrong specific gravity, most fakes are filled with lead or tungsten. They are plugged and since the finish on the bar is crude it is easy to hide and still have a proper weight. There is a reason why eagles, pandas and maples have a premium.....easier to have confidence that they are authentic if you know whet to look for.

    I have been paying a 25-30% premium on Gold Maple Leaves. I am not thrilled to do this because I only get spot when I sell them here. As a result I will now purchase which ever option has the lowest premium. So I will be asking more questions when I purchase any more gold bullion.

    ok, you buy a 6k gbar, maybe even one annually - 15yrs go by, and your trying to pay off your property for retirement - who buys your gbars? in what time frame? at melt? taxed? does this vary from state to state? - is your neighbor going to have 100k+ in cash to buy it off you? -///- if we had a total system collapse the best barter material is 'lead' (some will get that, ...some won't lol)

    I love the cast bars for gold. I've mainly bullion coins so far, they seem to have more benefits to the bars, whilst you can easily sell the bars to dealers the 2nd hand market seem a bit more hesitant compared to your bullion 1 oz or sovs for eg. Considering the premium is very similar on bars vs 1 oz coins, I guess if they were substantially cheaper I might be more inclined, also tax considerations on disposal are different for bars (and in the UK British coins are CGT free but bars are not)

From my calculations, this 100g bar (3.2oz) has a premium of $294 where as the maple has a premium of $60. 3 oz, $180 premium.

      @ChrisTopheRaz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@leathercheerio1 maybe some people like that but silver and gold are not a product manufactured by a brand so much as they are a precious metal they are relatively rare in abundance. if people are trading with other people then yes I get it but that’s where a mint especially a government mint is preferred.
