Absolutely right, will ALWAYS be the lane. If they wanted it called something else they shouldn’t have built there. It’s only going to be called the Nike Stadium by corporates and Gary Lineker anyway (we won’t be on MOTD2) so I don’t care what it’s ‘official’ name is.

It will always be WHL, Chris. But I think in terms of naming rights it’s probably the best we could’ve asked for, Nike is a great brand, “Nike Stadium” sounds far better than potentially Qatar stadium or potentially even Uber Stadium and given the size of the brand it should be a very big contract. It’s always the Lane, but I’m happy enough with it.
Because of the potential sponsorship money, we all knew it wasn’t going to be called White Hart Lane. Looking at what the options could have been, The Nike Stadium is a good choice.
Yes just look at Newcastle who were called the sports direct arena and city and Arsenal who are named after airline companys, nike is great for us

I know it doesn't pop to mind when you think of affordable car manufacturers but I REALLY wanted it to be The Audi Arena, stylized as AudiArena (not original idea btw) cuz of that Audi ad we had weeks ago. Though I will complain if it's called Nike Stadium 😂
I think The Nike Stadium is a great name simply for the fact I can guarantee everybody has at the very least one Nike product and there's gonna be certain people not a million miles away from us who will hate that every time they put one on. Not everyone flies Emirates😂 We will always be Tottenham from The Lane tho. COYS!

Nike Stadium sounds good to me Chris, massive company and world renowned. When you think big teams(hopefully successful) you have the backing of a big sponsor so job done if it’s gonna be Nike. That Champions league Quarter final night is going to be epic. Love to all.

Exactly this has been planned since 2009 so I’m pretty certain that over the last ten years the lack of investment has been spent on this???

The design of the outer shell (panels) actually echos the shape of the Nike tick logo. So maybe that was their plan all along. The Nike Stadium!

For me as a life long spurs fan ... also grew up in Tottenham ....would like to see it called ‘ THE LANE ‘

The only way we’ll play the home leg of the Champions League things need to fall into place...
If Brighton get knocked out of the FA Cup we’ll open the stadium against Brighton. We’ll definitely then play our Q-Final home leg whether the 1st or 2nd leg is at home.
However, if Brighton beat Millwall then that league game has to be rearranged meaning the Q-Final 1st leg is the midweek before the Huddersfield game.
If Brighton go through our first game at the new stadium would be Huddersfield.
If we are drawn home in the 1st Leg I very much doubt we would open the stadium for that game and we would have to play at Wembley again.
If we are drawn away first leg then the 2nd leg at home could be played at the new stadium.
Basically we want Brighton to go out and if not to be drawn away 1st leg.

Just a shame that my old Dad (who was born and raised in Parkhurst Rd) can't enjoy its opening with me...still, from up there he'll have a much better view than I'll ever have. Like all other spurs fans this news could not have come soon enough. To be back home at The Lane or The Nike stadium is the news we have all been waiting for. Wembley has not been my favourite stadium and it is ironic that out club ground will be so much better than our National Stadium is every aspect. Let's hope now for many years of continual success on and off the pitch to put our glorious club up there with the elite forever.

It will always be the lane, however if Nike want to give us a load of money so that corporates and commentators call it “the Nike stadium” so be it. I’m happy Nike see us as a club going places, at least it’s not sponsored by durex or something lol. Either way we will all still call it the lane as it’s in the same place next to white hart lane... exciting times!!!

Saints fan in peace, NIke stadium looks a good name but I think it should be called Nike White Hart Lane Stadium, look simple and popular name for it so maybe they will name stadium the Nike Stadium for now then they might decide to call it Nike White Hart lane Stadium just like the Newcastle Utd owner did changed back to St James's
St Mary's did not change name, just the location name for part of Southampton. when our stadium was built it was called the Friend Provident St Mary's stadium but now it is just a plain St Mary's stadium.

I'd be happy with the Nike Stadium as official name (WHL as unofficial) but Spurs have refuted the claim from Keys that it is to be called The Nike Stadium

I hate when corporations have the naming rights to stadiums. The worst one is Guaranteed Rate Field was U.S. Cellular Field for the Chicago White Sox. Well Nike isn't too bad

Hi from Koh Samui Thailand..Great news if its true, it will always be White Hart Lane for me, but Nike being a Sports Company is a lot better than been named after an Airline..would have Loved Holsten though. Great to hear that we are getting nearer to moving in..got a mate here who is a Huddersfield fan, he hopes its the Terriers as they will most likely be going down so it could be a long time before and if they ever do return, anyway Happy Days..COYS..
Thanks Chris. The important thing is to get a sponsor who will pay big bucks. They will name the stadium after the company, so could be Nike stadium, which seesm to be a good fit. To fans it will always be the Lane and we will sing'We are Tottenham from the Lane', so sponsors will have to expect and accept this!.

The Daily Fail are reporting that Spurs are denying the Nike Stadium rumour. .. Funniest thing I've seen today are videos on Twitter of Arsenal fans burning their replica shirts in protest. :o)
What a great piece of news Chris, you are like and excited child waiting to open something :-) From a business point of view we have to have naming rights these days it brings in additional cash to build the squad up to another level. Whether it is Nike Stadium, Tottenham Stadium, Nike Hart Lane, The Lane etc it will always be White Hart Lane for generations to come. I personally cannot wait to get in there but we have a few permutations to work on as already pointed out in various replies and hopefully they will all fit into our plans. It would be great to welcome Chris Hughton back for the first game as that would be very fitting and to have the quarter Final CL match here as well, the stadium will be electric. So this means you will be on a count down on how many more trips you will need to make to video our new home which we will all miss but we could start watching them all over again!! Tottenham is coming home, we are coming home COYS

Brighton first if we LOSE to Millwall, not if we win. If we win, we'll be playing a semi final that day.
I'd love to be amongst the first visitors to the stadium but not at the cost of a place in the FA Cup semi final for only the 2nd time in our history.
I think The Nike Stadium is a good choice after all there a well know reputable sporting goods Company. When you see other sponsors which have little to do with football from betting shops to airlines & even bog makers. I think we have been very lucky to get such good company.
Club have denied this and the broadcast by keys and Gray has been deleted.... should always check before publishing news. The club say it is NOT going to be the Nike stadium.
