    I'm surprised you don't see an IT dept. On yachts now a days.
    All that AV equipment, wireless internet, fancy electronics etc etc.

      Cliff Lee There is a ‘department’ for that. It’s called the ETO. Electro Technical Officer. Depending on the size of the boat it can be one person up to a team of people on the really big boats.

      @@YachtReport would the rankings scale as First ETO, Second ETO, ETS (Electro Technical Seaman)? Or is it Chief ETO followed by any number of Assistant ETO? Thanks

    Please go on LBRY or Bitchute. There are no annoying You Tube ads there and videos can still be monetized through tips

    Anyone able to shed some light on what an EOOW CoC is equivalent to, how difficult it is to get into the yacht industry and if it’s a worthwhile choice? How difficult would it be to come over from the offshore industry to the yachting industry? Cheers.

      Cal M Hi, once you get your CoC you can start applying via the agencies. I put some links in the video description.

      Do a few years on the cruise ships first. You will gain essential experience that you will need later in your career, especially if you want to work your way up to the top

      Not going to save for a car? Not getting a motorbike at some point? Perhaps you might want to buy a pair of shoes at some point. Your statement does not work. You may be willing to work for a lower wage but don't screw up the system as other people are trying to earn a living this way.

    A lot of junk info and lot of puffery.Owners prefer x Navy types to hire as skippers on yachts and they prefer x Brit navvies. X merchant marine or cruise ship types who are used to being slaves for low wages don't tolerate yacht jobs cause its a 24 hour demand job.And the Biggest plus is being Brit or European AND young AND pritty.For both guys and gals.Even American owners think twice about hireing Yanks.You want a great book about being a chef and crew on a yacht look up "Mediterranean Summer", written by an American who got hired for a summer on board a spectacular Italian owned sailing yacht,Very demanding owners and nothing less than
    perfection for EVERY meal.His episode about serving the owners something other than THE BEST pate, led the "madame" to bereate him for offering "dogfood".Threw it into the garbage bin and ripped him a new orifice
    If you are over 35 and a Yank fergit about yacht crewing

    • @YachtReport
      @YachtReport  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You’re info is third party I can tell because it’s filled with mistakes and generalising. You’ve never worked on yachts. Very few crew are from the US. It’s mainly for tax reasons.
