  • Back to my favourite watch the trains location on the WCML at the now closed and gone Norton Bridge Station 22/05/98.
    Where we a procession of classic traction, 86/87/90/47/56/60 37s on freight and passenger Holyhead to Brimingham..
    Some glitches I have noticed post publishing, I will try to re edit when time permits.

    Great footage. The switch diamond crossing at Norton Bridge Junction was the least reliable set of points on the WCML, it had an almost permanent 80mph TSR and would fail at least once per day. There was a dedicated team of technicians based there to attend to it continually. I suspect the period when you saw Up intercity services on the Slow line was during a failure.

      Thanks , trying to remember which model, I still have it in the attic,will check next time I go up , I think it was a Hitachi hi 8.
