    Gardening for wildlife and easy low care perennial vegetables/fruits while being ornamental is the future of gardening.

    Susan! I have decided you need to write a book about butterfly propagation! Your photos are magical and your comments are fresh and endearing. You have the ability to take science and make it personal and I think you would write an awesome book! I would buy a copy!

      You are like my own personal cheerleader!!! Everyone needs a cheerleader. 😍😍😍. I don’t think such a book exists, but I also know nothing about getting published. Hmmm 🤔

      @@ButterflyGardeningwithSusan Look at far you have come from a smattering of plants to a yard full of host/nectar plants designed specifically to different species. Then all you have learned about their propagation from egg to butterfly. You found they have habits and personalities that make them each an individual. then you opened your own nursery business growing those afore mentioned plants. you have perfected your video and photography skills...seems only natural that the next step would be a book. clear as day!

    Hello Susan and yay for staying out of the rat race! Schools are so important but people have no idea how stressful they have become. Gardening and butterflies is the way to go, haha.

    Horraaayyy. Susan we love you. Question: have you tried planting catharanthus (vinca) as a nectar plant? If so, I’d love to hear if your butterflies like them down there.

    • @ButterflyGardeningwithSusan
      @ButterflyGardeningwithSusan  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Okay, vinca and I are not friends, I hate to say it, but I actually don’t like it. (I know, I’m awful). I have had this feeling about it for a long time but I’m not really sure why. I think it’s just because it comes up everywhere. Is there therapy for exploring our negative feelings about flowers? Maybe I should get one so I can try to see it in a new light.

      @@ButterflyGardeningwithSusan lololol. awwww. I hear you. I think they can be invasive in FL. Up north they stay under control. I take them in during the winter. In your opinion, which is THE BEST butterfly nectar source? From your videos, I would think pentas and Mexican sunflower. But what’s your take on that? 😃😃😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🪴

    • @ButterflyGardeningwithSusan
      @ButterflyGardeningwithSusan  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I would 100% agree about the Pentas and Mexican sunflowers. This year the Firebush and tropical sage has been really popular too.

    Hopefully this comment posts!😂 I hope the pipevine swallowtails do well! We had some here in the spring so naturally I’m growing host plant in preparation for next spring should they return! I also got a surprise day lily flower! It’s already spent though so I can’t give you a good picture on IG. You’ll get more though I’m sure😂 Also, my last of the 4-0 caterpillars pupated today so I made it through that nightmare😂 Now to wait for monarchs to start randomly appearing in there
