      not really, he literally shows the midi...what more do you want from him...all this comment proves is youre really not about actually learning ableton. if you cant take an hour to pause on the midi screen copy it and find your own percs... youre literally never going to be an actual producer that can do this on his own. Shout out to the real ones that are though! and thanks for the video its fantastic

    Wicked tutorial as always Will. Keeping UK G alive! Quick question about you're equipment, are the headphones DT 990s? I'm leaning towards the DT 880s due to the overall flatter response. Also are the monitors A7X or A5X, also been contemplating between the 2. Cheers!

    I just discovered your channel and I'm so glad I did. This UKG tutorial is superb. Mind if I ask if the paetron memberships giveaway of these UKG patterns comes as audio stems or the Ableton project you're showing in this video? Either way i'll be joining one of your paetron tiers soon!! Thanks Again and see you there possibly on tier 2 or 3..!!!

      A lot of the projects on this channel comes as audio stems but this particular example comes as the project! All you have to do is drag your sounds into the named area in the drum racks and voila!

    do you put all your drums in key? i do sometimes as it slaps better if its 2 step with alot of swing but if its just 4x4 drums then i dont bother most of the time

  • @George-nx8zu
    @George-nx8zu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Fantastic tutorial. Quick questions:
    Basic Beat - What are some of the common or safe spots to put that secondary / off beat snare? Do you mostly add them by feel?
    Hi Hat Central & Minimalist - Am I right in saying that the feeling of these two is very similar? Its like the relationship of the Hi Hats is crucial to the feeling of the pattern, except I guess in the Minimalist pattern they are on the grid.
    Busy Body - For the Hi Hats did you just pick any off beat note that felt right?
    Thanks for any explanations. I'm still getting the feel for this genre

    • @WillHatton
      @WillHatton  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great questions George!
      Basic - Normally I stick to _around_ that 1.3.2 region but this time I added just a bit of swing!
      Hi Hat & Minimalist are super similar in this example, yes. The key difference is the drum fill and the white noise hats used in Minimalist.
      Busy Body - It's all about creating space, so I made sure there was plenty of panning going on with short sounds and laid the shaker part down first as that was most central. Following that I placed them in as you said where they felt right but so they weren't really overlapping other hat sounds.

    I’m curious about swing for UKG… Often my beats feel a little rushed and simply aren’t swinging. How does one swing for UKG? I notice a lot of loops actually have hats/snares hitting before the beat. Would be curious to hear your input

    Love the patterns so much and the sounds but its very annoying I cant copy them down as you only showed the first 2 bars for most of them.... I get you want people to be on your Patreon (you really did mention that) but it just makes this video pointless for non Patreon subscribers and just becomes an Ad!
