Lived in the Banana block from 1968 - 1980 and it was rotten when new, badly built and filled in land full of incinerated waste. Visited it yesterday and it is still mainly there but due to go very soon.
A few years after taking these photos, my old home, The Banana Blocks had gone. One was destroyed after heavy storms and a fire I believe, shortly followed by the demolition of the rest. A landmark view from across the Clyde was no more.
