(As a note to anyone concerned, she will be indoors because in a forest she will not last long, very few outside cats live long here, and especially as a kitten a hawk or owl would certainly take her within an hour unattended. It’s definitely a decision I am making to ensure she survives to adulthood!)

Me as well. I have been I'll since 2020 with spine issues and having cats furry animals helps me with to overcome my pains.They are loving us unconditionally and never say u look bad,or ur farts stink. They are good eggs.

I read somewhere years ago that when Mark Twain would travel, he would find someone with a litter of kittens. He would "rent" the kittens while he was in that town because he loved to watch them play. Yet another reason to love Mark Twain.

If you ever find yourself in Nevada, it's worth a stop in Virginia City to see its Mark Twain museum! Many antiques remain in the restored shop and basement where he worked during the Civil War. While there, he went through a lot of personal development and first began writing under his pseudonym instead of writing as Samuel Clemens. I was lucky enough to go there with my Grandpa, and it felt to me like holy ground.

She is just adorable , you could always harness her and take her for a walk. Glad she's gonna b a indoor cat though. They bring you so much pleasure. My little cat lived till almost 20. She past 2 yrs ago. Mayb ond day ill open my heart for another, but I'm still alittle hurt by her death. She certainly looks like she's settled in just fine. I can't wait to watch her grow. Xx

Sorry for your loss. Your heart will always have an open space to receive a new fur baby. I gave myself exactly two years, took a leap of faith and adopted our lovely Bella (Shih Tzu). She helped me in the healing process. All our babies will keep their special place on our hearts. 💕
Two years ago, I said aloud, “I miss having a cat.” Just a month later, a feral orange & white cat appeared and I called it Bitty Boy…however, Bitty Boy became Bitty Momma when she brought her kittens to live in our garden shed. She had one more litter before she was socialized and could be spayed. So, we now have Frac, Fluff, Shortbread, Gingersnap, and Florabella living in the garden. Oh and Big Daddy, too. All have been fixed, vaccinated, etc. My wish for a cat was certainly fulfilled in a grand way! Enjoy your sweet baby.
A grand way indeed! That same thing happened to us when we thought we were taking in our neighbors "fixed" cat. She ended up having six kittens on me while I slept one night. ☺️☺️☺️ She purred the entire time. It was my honor to be her birthing matt. Although I was quite tired the next morning!
My brother's cat also had a litter of kitties. He later gave away all of them except the "boy," so you can imagine his shock when he came home one evening to find that his beloved boy had given birth too. 😁

Good suggestions! I leased trained one of my cats and he adjusted just fine. After a year, I let him off the leash but supervised. He loved the outdoors and it made me feel good to give him back his freedom as he was born in the wild.
In the wild they do not need a leash because they always find its way back. Cats need the outside because during the night they love to hunt and find a mate. It is so bad I live in the city and I had to take my cat outside with a leash, just like you do with yours.

It is a fantastic way to still keep her as an indoor cat, yet safety allow her to enjoy the outdoors and go for walks with you. I’ve used one for years now and it is a wonderful experience for both of us every time we go exploring together 🙂 I’m also looking into a cat backpack so I can take him on longer hikes this summer! Oh my goodness, she is darling! I volunteer at a neonatal kitten nursery, bottle feeding tiny ones whose mothers were sadly killed, or were abandoned. Watching the ones who survive and thrive is a blessing. Thank you for rescuing her! I love the idea of keeping with the Pride and Prejudice theme, but whatever you decide will no doubt be perfect!

Someone has probably already suggested this but, you should leash train her. We have been working on leash training our cat and she loves going outside...and we love that we know she is safe and protected when she goes out :-)

She is precious! I had five cats and lost three last summer to various illness and old age.I love the name you had picked out. I had a Maggie, which sounds almost the same. Her sister's name was Molly, which is good for a little adventuress or a precocious kitten. Molly once went on an adventure for 7 months.She climbed in the back of our friend's truck and took a ride down the road on the sofa we gave him, which was under a tarp.She jumped out 7 miles down the road and broke her front teeth and went missing until a woman saw a poster of her, one of many which I had put up all over town.I thought for certain a Coyote got her. She had survived on her own but was near death from starvation when we found her due to her teeth being broken. We brought her home and fattened her up and she just passed away at 16 years old last summer due to cancer.She was the sweetest girl and is dearly missed but we gave her a good, long life and she gave us so much love.Now your pup has a buddy when you are at work! He must be so happy.I am looking for a kitten for my Mom, and a little Tabby is my preference since I may wind up with it some day. Congratulations!

My husband and I love cats so much! And such a fun fact that my previous cat also had the name "Mango". He was an adorable grey and white cat. Our new cat, who has been four years now, is named "Coco" and she looks a bit like your newest little one. Another coincidence is that we just moved to an area with nature nearby. Antillean is the name I came up with for the kitten! I’ll explain… I love when animals are named after other animals, for example I knew a dog named Moose and a cat named Monkey. So after doing a little research, I discovered that bats are the only extant native terrestrial mammals in Puerto Rico. There are about nine different kinds of bats that live there, and one of them is a kind of fruit bat (you mentioned your last cat was named Mango) called an Antillean fruit bat. You could call her “Tilly” for short. Or name her Piña for pineapple!!!
