We have to understand Nexon is a heavy car and we need very powerful engine to make it sportier but fuel efficiency will drop. Therefore to TATA has to balance out performance and fuel efficiency. There are other manufacturers who will give lighter cars with higher performance which leads to 0 stars in safety rating. So it's better we stop comparing tata with others.
Nexon's direct competition vitara brezza is a 4 star rated car with infinitely better engine

I think you'll only satisfy with maruti/kia/hyundai nothing else.
If you get Mahindra /vw/ skoda you'll get power but not mileage. + good safety
If you get tata you'll get only safe car but comparatively better mileage then Mahindra/vw/ skoda.
If you get kia/hyundai/ maruti you'll get everything except less safety.
kia and hyundai is great if they improve build quality
That car has no malfunction with locking system.doors get locked at 15 km/hr only but as soon as you pull driver door lever all gates get unlocked and also driver door opens at the same time.(ps- i am a proud Nexon owner)

The problem is the reviewer drive the car for few kilometres and post their observations which most of the time is misleading / confusing. I BS6 AMT Nexon have already driven 15,000 km and my honest feedback of the car is very different from what reviewers have put on the TH-cam. Like in this video he has mentioned drive mode knob shouldn’t turn 360- yaad nahi rehta what mode car is in. Since he has driven the car for few kms he doesn’t know the logic behind it to rotate 360. City being the balanced of sports and eco is mapped at center and default mode on starting the engine. On turning one left from city is sports or turning one right from city is eco. So if You are in eco-mode and need to activate sports mode you just have to turn the knob one time right from Eco. Had 360° rotation not there you will have to turn the knob two times to the left from eco sport to get into sports mode and vice versa. And after few hundred kms and usage of modes its gets into muscle memory.

Door locks are normal. Driver side pull lever has 2 functions. It open all gates at half pulled situation and of you go even more the door will open. You can feel first lock click at half pulling the lever.
15:04 - bro kindly get some information of the car before uploading your impressions because in Nexon there is no physical button for locking or unlocking doors and you just have to pull the driver's door lever to unlock the door, there are two positions in lever one is half pull which unlocks doors and second is full pull which opens the door

Regarding the knob for drive modes:
There is no fixed locking position as you wanted because the car wants to start always in City mode 😅. Also changing the modes is easy; you just have to rotate just one 'click' away towards right or left and the respective mode will engage. No need to rotate too much.

I think MJ bhai rotation is correct not like a fan knob because while driving you don't need to focus on knob setting you just rotate and check the mode which is i believe is correct.
And that speed sensing auto door lock check if its deactivated ? or it might not come on lower variant as XM

I have the same Nexon XM Petrol and have driven 8000 km in 9 months. Overall happy with it.Here I must mention the sound quality of Harman music system - it is awesome. Whenever I am inside the car I do play my favorite singer Zubeen Garg's numbers and enjoy my drive whether it is short or long drive. Last thing I would like to tell is the 210mm ground clearance of the car really helps on bad roads.

My Nexon failed to start multiple times after parking, Service center said there is problem with fuel pump, After fixing this, it has not reoccured, however the car is with at my parent’s house and they rarely use it.So I am not sure if this has been fixed. I am shocked how a brand new car can have these issues. Has anyone had this before?

Bhai brezza ki tarak tin ka dabba thodi hai jo tatti power to weight ratio ho, bhari gaadi hai, aur kabhi sports mode pe dhang se chala k dekh. Bhai brezza kam bik rahi hai, toh kamiya toh nikalaga hi anap shanap. I have driven brezza, and its engine is crap in front of nexon, also its tin ki body rattles all the time.

everything is fenominal except for two things.
1 engine is good but tunning is worst and multiple flat spots in power delivery (recommended to get it tunned aftermarket by etunners or code 6)
2 laggy infotainment

At lower RPM there is turbo lag in nexon. You won't get that 1.2 litre punchy feel because car is heavy and 3 cylinder engine. when it comes to suzuki engines they are naturally aspirated and very refined. as well as suzuki cars are light weight as compare to tata cars. You will get good performance with good milage but then question arise is what about safety. It depends on person to person what is your priority safety or performance. Nexon has strong build quality with decent performance which is good enough to travel with family. Only thing tata need to improve is refinement of engine. In future surely they will do.
But safety was also in brezza , I will buy brezza because in hill areas it was good , than Nexon .
I am planning to book a car this month . Sonet 1.0 turbo petrol dct or nexon 1.2 turbo petrol which is better ?
If you live in hill areas , then go for Nexon 1.2. or if you want good performance with not so much gear change , then go for brezza because in below rpm or low end performance was good , but if you live in plains then go for Nexon , but sonet have more features .
Now , it depends on you , but I will suggest go Nexon , for safety .

Apart from 5 stars..TATA lacks on many aspects 1)vehicle is not dynamically stable,it topple in almost all accidents even altroz which is hatchback 2) gearbox vibration and cabin nvh is very bad 3) A pillars are very thick for safety aspects as a result more blind spot is created during turning (you may notice very high accidents in nexon and punch during turning) 4)fit and finish is not up to the mark 5)service centres including service staffs are very bad 6)service network needs improvement 7)after 5-6 Years whole car parts starts vibrating so it's resale value is very bad, rattle king tata8)TATA engines especially 3 cylinder petrol not at all reliable...even TATA ka loha rust alot.. 9)steering problem..I have seen many people selling their nexon and buying xuv300,ecosport and Brezza baaki bachaa tatta harrier or altroz ke 2 tukde ho Gaye hai..tank hai tank hai bolne walo ko apma aukat Pata chal gaya,tukde tukde pade the raho par...lag raha hai tata ke loha mei milawat ho raha hai..ab to customer ne pareshan hoke apne tata safari ko he aag laga di 😭🤣 or lo tatta

Dude whenever you review, it should be unbiased. Never compare it with your brezza which you are habituated to drive from years. Because there may be people who are looking to buy a car and go by your review. Just be genuine and frank. And one more thing is this is XM model Nexon which is just above the base model. There are higher models with auto dimming IRVM, height adjustable driver seat, keyless etc. So just be aware of higher variants with more options when commenting.
Owners will always find their cars better than rivals.. Biases will come naturally in review.
