Christina, I just have to give you huge props. I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way! You have certainly made an illness like EDS into a fashion I am totally obsessed with. From the ring splints, to the feeding pump leg bag and now the skirt belt/hook. I love love love how you have turned the medical into the fashionable, that even non-chronically ill people (like myself) love and find inspiration! You are just so resourceful and creative and have a killer fashion sense! ☺️😍
Those skirt hitches are a brilliant idea! I wear long skirts for reasons of modesty, being a traditionally observant Jew, but stairs are a real hazard. This could be my answer for floaty summer skirts, so thank you Christina! xxxxxxxxx
Desk chairs are awesome for getting around when you can't walk. I don't know if it will work in your situation, but after I had foot surgery several years ago I found it to be a lot easier for me to roll backwards in the chair. Pushing off was a lot easier, smoother, and less exhausting than dragging myself forward.
Angie Danson that is so true. Plus my physio said that it is better to push yourself backwards and it puts less pressure on your legs and joints then trying to drag yourself forwards cause to much rocking forward and backwards can jar and strain the spine and back so if you can push backwards it is a lot easier and doesn't use so much energy and it's easier for the body to cope with. Very good tip! Also using a plastic carpet saver can help to make it easier to move the chair around the house if you can get them in the USA as they are used a lot in the UK but I don't know if you have them in the USA? Christina, that xray is is a show-stopper for sure! I am confused as to how a free-floating fibula won't cause issues, or how that fragment of bone screwed to the other will help stabilize the joint. It looks like they tried to fuse the bones together, then decided that wasn't going to work... did you get further information on what the doctors were going for, and how this surgery helps you?
No joke, I am seriously tempted to buy myself a "safety belt" to see if I can use it for my service dogs mobility work. He's super bossy and likes to grab onto my pants legs and even bite my belt when he sees me swaying or falling. I hope your recovery goes smoothly!
Alex B -- You might want to look into "industrial fall protection"... the harnesses and belts are going to be a little bit more heavy duty and have better quality assurance. Industrial fall protection is used... more like absolutely required... when working more than so many feet off of the ground in a manufacturing plant, etc. Christina's dad likely has one that he uses when he installs pipes on the ceilings of industrial buildings and manufacturing plants. (Not so funny story -- I actually witnessed the aftermath of two contractors getting kicked out of the manufacturing plant that I worked in at my last job. The EHS manager caught them up near the ceiling... so 30ish feet from the cement floor... sitting on a rusty steel I-beam with NO fall protection tethering them to the I-beam. She walked them out to their truck, and sure enough, brand new fall protection that had never been put on or adjusted. If steam actually did come out of people's ears, I think we would have seen it coming out of that EHS manager's ears for the rest of that day.) ... so, yea, hopefully, that gives you an idea of what "industrial fall protection" is AND how heavy-duty it is before you waste a bunch of time looking into it (only to realize that it is complete and total overkill for your purposes). =)

Hey! Girls can use tools to fix (and make) things, too. =) I have to admit that (during my engineering career) it was quite amusing to see the looks that I'd get for crawling in, around, and under machines, usually while wearing business casual clothing. But to be fair, when I tried welding ONE time in my 'machine shop' class in college, I ended up burning a hole in a super-thin piece of sheet metal instead of joining the two pieces of scrap metal together.

Your dad made me bawl....he is such an awesome guy. Also today is the one year anniversary of my Dad’s death so I am missing him like crazy. Also my dad was a welder and machinists so there was that also.

I can really notice in your face when you have a good PT session. Your facial muscles are so relaxed and everything moves fluidly. Gorgeous smile. Hang in there. Can I just say...your dad rocks! He is a surgeon in his own right. Love the modification.
I had the same surgery in both knees and I too wook up to that same x-ray and was shocked we didn't even talked about that braking my bones and leaving things floting but it worked out in the end I'm 5 years out since my surgies and it's worth it! It did take me a vary long time to heal but I think all ppl with EDS do. I feel ya I don't miss those days.

+Christina Doherty I'm glad I could set you at ease. I cried when I wook to the news after surgery and say the X-rays, but was worth it in the end I can now rely on my knees I had them done back to back. They where the first joints to go from my EDS. I also can't have Morphine do to allergies and my body just strait up rejects it. Pain killers really do nothing I had to just bare the pain. I also didn't stay in my room wile I healed up, I stayed in the living room since it would be easier to get to the bathroom with my cane or crutches. We didn't know I had EDS then so we didn't get why using crutches messed up my shoulders thanks to it (almost a full year on crutches I most likely will have to have surgery on my shoulders so I'm glad you didn't go with that. I also went to PT the day after surgery to get my leg moving once my first knee bared wieght and PT could sign off on it I went on to my other knee. (then my jaw after that lol) I hope you heal well and fast watch stiches (you probly know with you back/neck) but my right knee rejected my stiches inside and out and I got an infection silly doctors told me it was normal go into PT and my leg was swollen painful red and we'll lots of puss so ya went to the ER I don't see that doctor anymore. I have a crazy scare from it though lol. And just like your back/neck my knee scares open up sometiles if I don't keep them mosterised. I hope any of that helps. Christina Doherty I had a similar operation to help stop my knees from dislocating and I woke up after surgery to have floating bone but not as big of a gap and I was told that the bone will grow new bone to connect the ends of bone together but it took quite a while for it to show that the ends of bone have connected and even longer before it showed that it looked strong enough to start to weight bear on it. I started weight bearing by only 10 percent and after each xray they would see how much more it had healed before deciding how much more weight I could put through it. I had to have both knees done and i was not allowed to use crutches or anything to help either so I can understand how hard it is. It helps to go backwards with the office chair as it puts less pressure and strain on your body and legs I left another comment after someone else put the same thing. I don't know if you can get this in the USA but in the UK we have a plastic runner called carpet savers to help save the carpets from damaged from the chairs and it makes it a lot easier to move the office chair around with the saver down. Maybe you can look into this to see if you can get it in the USA and if this would help you move the office chair around the house. I am so happy that everything went well with your knee surgery I was praying for you and bonnie that it all went well. I am praying for you both that you are ok and heal ok! One question I would like to know is where did you get your thumb splints from as I showed my surgeon who operated on my thumb and he said that if I could find something similar that it would really help me to get out from the cast and support that I use as the cast is the only thing that can give me enough support and comfort after my thumb fusion. Plus the surgeon is quite interested in your thumb and fingers support to help me and other people who need support. I am keeping bonnie and you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I was awake during my knee surgery and it was funny seeing my leg in the air. Please be careful on the office chair I was using one and it went one way and I the other, which set me back a lot. My prayers are with you and your family and friend hugs xxx
Aww so sweet of ya Dad, fixing the problem so ya leg be ok on the wheelchair, and giving up his spot on the bed for you, he works hard for the family, make sure that you all ok, must say I love ya parents in general in all that they do for you, as whole. xx

It kind of makes me angry at your doctors that they didn’t tell you exactly what they were going to do...BEFORE the surgery. But I’m really happy that you have found a team you can trust and who are willing to be your pcp! You can make it through this recovery. I try to walk unassisted all to often and my fiancé has to keep watching me and catching me if one my my joints dislocates or gives out. Thank goodness for those around us that put up with our stubbornness!
You are so gracious after that huge shock! And I’m seriously impressed with your transfers! I’ve definitely used a desk chair in my parents’ basement to get around when I couldn’t get my regular chair downstairs. Pushing yourself backward is definitely easier than trying to pull yourself forward, as I’ve seen other people suggest.
Omg I would have needed that wheelchair 9 years ago when I had my skiing accident. They wouldn't let me get out of bed because they didn't want my leg to be down (only option was the toilet chair, and there was only ONE on the entire unit). So glad time has changed and I am able to even walk again short and middle distance.
Isn’t the spinal the weirdest feeling? I can totally relate. When they transferred me from my bed after my c-section I could see them moving my legs but couldn’t feel them. So bizarre.

I was going to be awake for a wrist surgery, but my surgeon convinced me to be fully put under due to the plan of it being over an hour. It ended up being almost 4 hours, and therefore was very glad I was put under!! Edit: and yes, nerve blocks are suuuuuper crazy!! But beats the pain hah.
I had two wrist surgeries between November '22 and March '23 (R was in November, L was in March). I was given a few options () 1- nerve block and IV benzos, 2- nerve block and nothing else, 3- nerve block and monitored sedation w/o fentanyl-> not fully under but not remembering, 4- nerve block and general anesthesia w/o fentanyl-> totally under and no memory, 5- no nerve block but general anesthesia w/o fentanyl. I have to opt for no fentanyl because I have a tendency of being SUPER fucked up for several days after having even a partial dose of fentanyl. For both surgeries I went with option 3.
Super dad wins again. My dad was awake for his knee reconstruction surgery (which was done over 35 years ago) and he has no health issues and no issues with his airways he actually wanted to watch it and his doctors wouldn't let him. (He's strange) It isn't super uncommon with knee surgeries apparently?

When I had my knee surgery we put a 'port-a-potty' (camping toilet) in my room so in the middle of the night I didn't have a long trip to the bathroom!! I found it to be a huge help!! You were really weighing heavy on my heart and I think maybe it was because you were fighting the pain so hard and doing whatever you needed to keep from going back through the morphine cycle. I had to talk to my mom several times this week to pray for you. I'm glad you're home and enjoyed such a fantastic live concert yesterday! OMG! I tumbled down the stairs in December and I still can't walk on it, my house is not wheelchair friendly at all so I use an office chair too! I had the same problems with the little wheels and I realised why the sometimes would not turn (in my case), my hair is long and can be found everywhere in the house. Then it clicked, my hair was getting stuck on the wheels limiting movement. Maybe check your little wheels if there are hairs on it. I wish you the very best of recovery all the way from Holland💐😘

I totally know what you mean about being shocked with your fibula just hanging there. I had an accident where my tibia and my fibula broke. My fibula was broken in multiple spots. They fixed my tibia with a rod, but just left my fibula with all of its broken pieces. I'm almost completely recovered now and my xrays show new bone growth between all of the separate pieces. It was just so weird to me that they didn't need to fix it and it doesn't affect my walking ability. :D

i have no idea how you go through that without narcotic pain meds. you are a superwoman! i had a very similar surgery, and i was miserable. hopefully, you won’t have to have another surgery, but if you do...there’s this great little thing i had for my last knee surgery. now mine had lidocaine in it, but i’m sure different meds can be put in it, since you’re allergic to that. they implant a little catheter in your thigh and it slowly drops a medication into your leg. it’s a little ball that you carry with you and mine lasted three days. kept it almost completely numb (which i didn’t know how well it was working until i didn’t have it). i’m gonna go look through my pictures and figure out what the name of it is and edit my post. **edit: its called ON-Q. the website is myon-q.com**

Seems like your finally finding a team who can work with all your needs and I was suprised you went into surgery without knowing what they were going to do! But it would be interesting to understand better what was happening with your leg to make you need surgery and what you thought they were going to do and actually what they did and why....how breaking your leg helped you ankle to be able to have more control? I'm so happy for you.
Even though the surgery wasn’t exactly what you expected I am glad to see that you are doing so well. Tramadol is an awesome choice for some pain situations. I was given it after getting home from one of my surgeries and was amazed at how well it worked. I have had an allergy to codeine since I was 16 so finding pain medication that I could tolerate has been an adventure. Something that many people don’t know is that taking Ibuprofen or Naproxen sodium inhibits bone growth. So that limits your choices for non prescription pain relief. You constantly amaze me at how quickly you bounce back following your surgeries. Like you I needed and wanted to have my primary care doctor in the same system as my other doctors as I collected them due to different health issues. Being able to have everyone on the same page and understanding the different health issues was essential to my care and health. My previous doctor became not so stellar as the years went by and it was clear he didn’t listen or understand or believe me when I tried to explain what I was experiencing. His negligence nearly cost me my life and I also discovered that he had falsified my records and got someone at the local hospital to change the date of my biopsy on a lump in my breast. I can’t comprehend how he thought I wouldn’t notice that the date was wrong. I will be keeping you in my prayers.

I had a total knee replacement in both my knees about four months apart and I couldn't take morphine because it made me way to sick so they gave me something else that worked great but unfortunately I don't know what lol! After I got home I was in the worst pain that I ever had but you seem to be handling it great but just a little advice don't wait until the pain hits you to hard to take the next dose because it's so much harder to get it back under control also if you get therapy take your pain meds about an hour before it will help a lot! But check with your therapist or doctor first because like you said everyone is different! You seem like a very sweet person and I love to watch your channel! I pray that your recovery goes great for you and I think the weeks will fly by for you as long as you have things to keep your mind busy! Well I guess I blabbed long enough for now lol! That's what us old folks do best, you take care now and let your body heal!

what you said about that phantom limb thing is exactly how I felt! I had a nerve block to my arm for my hand surgery (I was awake too haha) and I was so confused bc I was so sure that my hand was in the position that I last felt it in but I couldn't actually see it and I was so wrong! I thought I was moving it though and I kept getting worried that I was gonna mess up the surgery haha
Once I dislocated my knee really badly (oh I had no idea how many more would come after that), and my house is narrow too so a desk chair was my main transport around the house.

i have had a csf leak, before we realized i had eds, during a surgery to fix severe dental crowding (also a eds thing) i will NEVER allow an epidural or another spinal tap, or lumbar puncture drain ever again
I just have to say, you have the most amazing spirit. No matter what comes your way you take it in stride and with a smile on your face. I have CRPS and have had 12 surgeries over the years for various reasons but most of them on my shoulder. I can honestly say I don't ever remember being as pleasant as you seem to be. You are truly amazing! Keep your head up and remember, our Father up in heaven has a special plan for you and he is watching over you. I can't help but think that it is for you to share your life with us and teach us how to be grateful for what we have and how to be positive and loving no matter what our circumstances. Praying for your recoveryglad they fixed the meds for you and your dad is a rockstar! My boyfriend is a machinist as well and he helps me with my wheelchairs and rolator all the time. Its so handy and hey is so smart and they act like it's no big deal. But to us, it means the WORLD you know? Praying for Bonnie since you picked her up from airport and started following her. 💜💜💜💜 Going to try to watch Jesus Christ Superstar (one of my families all time favorites as well! And can't wait to be able to watch it but I couldn't record it because of mast cell attack and asthma attack and bronchitis at the same time and two night at ER in a row. =( but my bestie said she would find it for us on the nbc app on her tv and we'll watch it at her house and i see her thursday!! Woot woot! Cant wait. It was nice that everyone was helping and the nurses were great. Praying for healing. And i totally get thinking you're having one surgery and then finding out is was something different. Im dealing with that currently and it has caused a 25-30 pound weight loss to where i look way too thin but only 9 more days til GI! Gotta get through this! Love and hugs!
I do take hydromorphone 4mg everyday. I too hate taking it but as you say I really need it just to get through the day. I do cut he pills in half as much as possible. Take care and you have wonderful parents

I can completely understand why you wouldn't be able to go back on the morphine. That was tough and you're a warrior for getting through that without. I’ve had a free floating fibula for 20+ years. As long as no one kicks you in the leg , you can live with it when there is hardware on the tibia.
No joke, I am seriously tempted to buy myself a "safety belt" to see if I can use it for my service dogs mobility work. He's super bossy and likes to grab onto my pants legs and even bite my belt when he sees me swaying or falling. I hope your recovery goes smoothly!

Alex B -- You might want to look into "industrial fall protection"... the harnesses and belts are going to be a little bit more heavy duty and have better quality assurance.
Industrial fall protection is used... more like absolutely required... when working more than so many feet off of the ground in a manufacturing plant, etc. Christina's dad likely has one that he uses when he installs pipes on the ceilings of industrial buildings and manufacturing plants. (Not so funny story -- I actually witnessed the aftermath of two contractors getting kicked out of the manufacturing plant that I worked in at my last job. The EHS manager caught them up near the ceiling... so 30ish feet from the cement floor... sitting on a rusty steel I-beam with NO fall protection tethering them to the I-beam. She walked them out to their truck, and sure enough, brand new fall protection that had never been put on or adjusted. If steam actually did come out of people's ears, I think we would have seen it coming out of that EHS manager's ears for the rest of that day.)
... so, yea, hopefully, that gives you an idea of what "industrial fall protection" is AND how heavy-duty it is before you waste a bunch of time looking into it (only to realize that it is complete and total overkill for your purposes). =)

Hey! Girls can use tools to fix (and make) things, too. =) I have to admit that (during my engineering career) it was quite amusing to see the looks that I'd get for crawling in, around, and under machines, usually while wearing business casual clothing.
But to be fair, when I tried welding ONE time in my 'machine shop' class in college, I ended up burning a hole in a super-thin piece of sheet metal instead of joining the two pieces of scrap metal together.

I had the same surgery in both knees and I too wook up to that same x-ray and was shocked we didn't even talked about that braking my bones and leaving things floting but it worked out in the end I'm 5 years out since my surgies and it's worth it! It did take me a vary long time to heal but I think all ppl with EDS do. I feel ya I don't miss those days.

I'm glad I could set you at ease. I cried when I wook to the news after surgery and say the X-rays, but was worth it in the end I can now rely on my knees I had them done back to back. They where the first joints to go from my EDS. I also can't have Morphine do to allergies and my body just strait up rejects it. Pain killers really do nothing I had to just bare the pain. I also didn't stay in my room wile I healed up, I stayed in the living room since it would be easier to get to the bathroom with my cane or crutches. We didn't know I had EDS then so we didn't get why using crutches messed up my shoulders thanks to it (almost a full year on crutches I most likely will have to have surgery on my shoulders so I'm glad you didn't go with that. I also went to PT the day after surgery to get my leg moving once my first knee bared wieght and PT could sign off on it I went on to my other knee. (then my jaw after that lol) I hope you heal well and fast watch stiches (you probly know with you back/neck) but my right knee rejected my stiches inside and out and I got an infection silly doctors told me it was normal go into PT and my leg was swollen painful red and we'll lots of puss so ya went to the ER I don't see that doctor anymore. I have a crazy scare from it though lol. And just like your back/neck my knee scares open up sometiles if I don't keep them mosterised. I hope any of that helps. Christina Doherty I had a similar operation to help stop my knees from dislocating and I woke up after surgery to have floating bone but not as big of a gap and I was told that the bone will grow new bone to connect the ends of bone together but it took quite a while for it to show that the ends of bone have connected and even longer before it showed that it looked strong enough to start to weight bear on it. I started weight bearing by only 10 percent and after each xray they would see how much more it had healed before deciding how much more weight I could put through it. I had to have both knees done and i was not allowed to use crutches or anything to help either so I can understand how hard it is. It helps to go backwards with the office chair as it puts less pressure and strain on your body and legs I left another comment after someone else put the same thing. I don't know if you can get this in the USA but in the UK we have a plastic runner called carpet savers to help save the carpets from damaged from the chairs and it makes it a lot easier to move the office chair around with the saver down. Maybe you can look into this to see if you can get it in the USA and if this would help you move the office chair around the house. I am so happy that everything went well with your knee surgery I was praying for you and bonnie that it all went well. I am praying for you both that you are ok and heal ok! One question I would like to know is where did you get your thumb splints from as I showed my surgeon who operated on my thumb and he said that if I could find something similar that it would really help me to get out from the cast and support that I use as the cast is the only thing that can give me enough support and comfort after my thumb fusion. Plus the surgeon is quite interested in your thumb and fingers support to help me and other people who need support. I am keeping bonnie and you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I was awake during my knee surgery and it was funny seeing my leg in the air. Please be careful on the office chair I was using one and it went one way and I the other, which set me back a lot. My prayers are with you and your family and friend hugs xxx

I’m so very glad that the surgery went well! I’ve been really praying and thinking about that all week! It kind of makes me angry at your doctors that they didn’t tell you exactly what they were going to do...BEFORE the surgery. But I’m really happy that you have found a team you can trust and who are willing to be your pcp! You can make it through this recovery. My husband keeps having to catch me when my stubborn ass tries to walk unassisted and we have the same problem of my joints dislocating! I feel like the belt is a BRILLIANT idea!

I try to walk unassisted all to often and my fiancé has to keep watching me and catching me if one my my joints dislocates or gives out. Thank goodness for those around us that put up with our stubbornness!

You are so gracious after that huge shock! And I’m seriously impressed with your transfers! I’ve definitely used a desk chair in my parents’ basement to get around when I couldn’t get my regular chair downstairs. Pushing yourself backward is definitely easier than trying to pull yourself forward, as I’ve seen other people suggest.
Omg I would have needed that wheelchair 9 years ago when I had my skiing accident. They wouldn't let me get out of bed because they didn't want my leg to be down (only option was the toilet chair, and there was only ONE on the entire unit). So glad time has changed and I am able to even walk again short and middle distance.
Isn’t the spinal the weirdest feeling? I can totally relate. When they transferred me from my bed after my c-section I could see them moving my legs but couldn’t feel them. So bizarre.

I was going to be awake for a wrist surgery, but my surgeon convinced me to be fully put under due to the plan of it being over an hour. It ended up being almost 4 hours, and therefore was very glad I was put under!! Edit: and yes, nerve blocks are suuuuuper crazy!! But beats the pain hah.
I had two wrist surgeries between November '22 and March '23 (R was in November, L was in March). I was given a few options () 1- nerve block and IV benzos, 2- nerve block and nothing else, 3- nerve block and monitored sedation w/o fentanyl-> not fully under but not remembering, 4- nerve block and general anesthesia w/o fentanyl-> totally under and no memory, 5- no nerve block but general anesthesia w/o fentanyl. I have to opt for no fentanyl because I have a tendency of being SUPER fucked up for several days after having even a partial dose of fentanyl.
For both surgeries I went with option 3.
Super dad wins again. My dad was awake for his knee reconstruction surgery (which was done over 35 years ago) and he has no health issues and no issues with his airways he actually wanted to watch it and his doctors wouldn't let him. (He's strange) It isn't super uncommon with knee surgeries apparently?

When I had my knee surgery we put a 'port-a-potty' (camping toilet) in my room so in the middle of the night I didn't have a long trip to the bathroom!! I found it to be a huge help!! Your dad is brilliant!👏 When you were in the hospital this time, I was so worried about you. You were really weighing heavy on my heart and I think maybe it was because you were fighting the pain so hard and doing whatever you needed to keep from going back through the morphine cycle. I had to talk to my mom several times this week to pray for you. I'm glad you're home and enjoyed such a fantastic live concert yesterday! OMG! So so glad you're OK.
I tumbled down the stairs in December and I still can't walk on it, my house is not wheelchair friendly at all so I use an office chair too! I had the same problems with the little wheels and I realised why the sometimes would not turn (in my case), my hair is long and can be found everywhere in the house. Then it clicked, my hair was getting stuck on the wheels limiting movement. Maybe check your little wheels if there are hairs on it. I wish you the very best of recovery all the way from Holland💐😘

Turn the chair around backwards and push backwards. It's MUCH easier! I had to do that myself and discovered it helped a lot.
I totally know what you mean about being shocked with your fibula just hanging there. I had an accident where my tibia and my fibula broke. My fibula was broken in multiple spots. They fixed my tibia with a rod, but just left my fibula with all of its broken pieces. I'm almost completely recovered now and my xrays show new bone growth between all of the separate pieces. It was just so weird to me that they didn't need to fix it and it doesn't affect my walking ability. :D

i have no idea how you go through that without narcotic pain meds. you are a superwoman! i had a very similar surgery, and i was miserable.
hopefully, you won’t have to have another surgery, but if you do...there’s this great little thing i had for my last knee surgery. now mine had lidocaine in it, but i’m sure different meds can be put in it, since you’re allergic to that. they implant a little catheter in your thigh and it slowly drops a medication into your leg. it’s a little ball that you carry with you and mine lasted three days. kept it almost completely numb (which i didn’t know how well it was working until i didn’t have it). i’m gonna go look through my pictures and figure out what the name of it is and edit my post.

Seems like your finally finding a team who can work with all your needs and I was suprised you went into surgery without knowing what they were going to do! But it would be interesting to understand better what was happening with your leg to make you need surgery and what you thought they were going to do and actually what they did and why....how breaking your leg helped you ankle to be able to have more control? I'm so happy for you.

Even though the surgery wasn’t exactly what you expected I am glad to see that you are doing so well. Tramadol is an awesome choice for some pain situations. I was given it after getting home from one of my surgeries and was amazed at how well it worked. I have had an allergy to codeine since I was 16 so finding pain medication that I could tolerate has been an adventure. Something that many people don’t know is that taking Ibuprofen or Naproxen sodium inhibits bone growth. So that limits your choices for non prescription pain relief. You constantly amaze me at how quickly you bounce back following your surgeries. Like you I needed and wanted to have my primary care doctor in the same system as my other doctors as I collected them due to different health issues. Being able to have everyone on the same page and understanding the different health issues was essential to my care and health. My previous doctor became not so stellar as the years went by and it was clear he didn’t listen or understand or believe me when I tried to explain what I was experiencing. His negligence nearly cost me my life and I also discovered that he had falsified my records and got someone at the local hospital to change the date of my biopsy on a lump in my breast. I can’t comprehend how he thought I wouldn’t notice that the date was wrong. I will be keeping you in my prayers.

Christina I have suggestion instead of moving forward with the office chair. Try moving backwards to see if that would help.
I had a total knee replacement in both my knees about four months apart and I couldn't take morphine because it made me way to sick so they gave me something else that worked great but unfortunately I don't know what lol! After I got home I was in the worst pain that I ever had but you seem to be handling it great but just a little advice don't wait until the pain hits you to hard to take the next dose because it's so much harder to get it back under control also if you get therapy take your pain meds about an hour before it will help a lot! But check with your therapist or doctor first because like you said everyone is different! You seem like a very sweet person and I love to watch your channel! I pray that your recovery goes great for you and I think the weeks will fly by for you as long as you have things to keep your mind busy! Well I guess I blabbed long enough for now lol! That's what us old folks do best, you take care now and let your body heal!

what you said about that phantom limb thing is exactly how I felt! I had a nerve block to my arm for my hand surgery (I was awake too haha) and I was so confused bc I was so sure that my hand was in the position that I last felt it in but I couldn't actually see it and I was so wrong! I thought I was moving it though and I kept getting worried that I was gonna mess up the surgery haha
Once I dislocated my knee really badly (oh I had no idea how many more would come after that), and my house is narrow too so a desk chair was my main transport around the house.

i have had a csf leak, before we realized i had eds, during a surgery to fix severe dental crowding (also a eds thing) i will NEVER allow an epidural or another spinal tap, or lumbar puncture drain ever again

I just have to say, you have the most amazing spirit. No matter what comes your way you take it in stride and with a smile on your face. I have CRPS and have had 12 surgeries over the years for various reasons but most of them on my shoulder. I can honestly say I don't ever remember being as pleasant as you seem to be. I can't help but think that it is for you to share your life with us and teach us how to be grateful for what we have and how to be positive and loving no matter what our circumstances. Praying for your recoveryglad they fixed the meds for you and your dad is a rockstar! My boyfriend is a machinist as well and he helps me with my wheelchairs and rolator all the time. Its so handy and hey is so smart and they act like it's no big deal. But to us, it means the WORLD you know? Praying for Bonnie since you picked her up from airport and started following her. 💜💜💜💜 Going to try to watch Jesus Christ Superstar (one of my families all time favorites as well! And can't wait to be able to watch it but I couldn't record it because of mast cell attack and asthma attack and bronchitis at the same time and two night at ER in a row. =( but my bestie said she would find it for us on the nbc app on her tv and we'll watch it at her house and i see her thursday!! Woot woot! Cant wait. It was nice that everyone was helping and the nurses were great. Praying for healing. And i totally get thinking you're having one surgery and then finding out is was something different. Im dealing with that currently and it has caused a 25-30 pound weight loss to where i look way too thin but only 9 more days til GI! Gotta get through this! Love and hugs!

I can completely understand why you wouldn't be able to go back on the morphine. That was tough and you're a warrior for getting through that without. But it'd be way too rough for you to go back on after all you went through to get off. Been there :( Hey I haven't seen Jesus Christ Superstar. I love musical, could list a few ;) heehee.
